Working With The Enemy Page 18

by Raquel Belle

This is how I want to propose to her. Here, in our home. With our two dogs Salt and Pepper. That’s exactly how she’d want it—simple, homey, and heartfelt. After all, Sarah Anderson isn’t @LuxeOnLex. She’s so much more. She’s smart, sexy, willful, and fiercely competitive. And I can’t wait to spend the rest of my life just trying my best to keep up with her.

I smile as I lock the door to the apartment, the dogs whining their goodbyes after me. The followers of @WorkingWithTheEnemy are going to freak out. After we revealed our full history to our fans, telling them that we actually used to date in college, they became even more interested in our relationship. It turns out a lot of people out there are wishing for second chances like mine.

But when I propose, it’s not the reactions of our followers that I’m interested in. The only person’s opinion I care about in that moment is Sarah’s. I can’t wait to see her face when she says yes. I imagine her blue eyes dancing, her smiling face looking soft and beautiful. And I know for sure: I’m a damn lucky guy.

  The End?

  It doesn’t have to be!

  Hi there!

Thank you so much for picking up “Working with the Enemy” – I hope you enjoyed reading it as much as I enjoyed writing it!

So, I guess you’re wondering what’s the deal with “The Things That Go Wrong With Rings?”

Well, we seem to be starting something of a tradition with my books…

As soon as feedback starts coming in, I always get fans writing in to tell me what they wish they could have seen more of.

Now, for me…for all intents and purposes…Jake and Sarah’s story ended where it ended. At least, that’s how it all played out in my head.

But…so many of my readers wrote in to say that they’re absolutely dying to know who won the Adidas pitch and what happened with Jake’s proposal…so I felt like I just couldn’t put this book to rest without giving everybody a little extra closure.

I really enjoyed writing these new scenes as well and I just know you’re going to love them!

So without further ado – I’m happy to gift this exclusive novella to all my fans.

“Ladies and gentlemen, if I can have your attention please?” A familiar female voice came through the speakers. The sound was smoky and alluring, but also commanding—like a teacher’s voice. I turned my head to see who was on stage, and my gut bottomed out. I felt as if a rod had just been thrown through me. It was Stephanie. Click here to read more

So before we dive in here - I think I should tell you that Jenna Benson hasn’t been laid in a year. Yeah…a whole year.

She was dating a guy who turned out to be such a douche bag that she actually moved away from her home town because the story he’d spun for everyone was that she just wasn’t good enough. Click here to read more

Hayley Wright, kindergarten teacher extraordinaire, has a crippling fear of being alone. It seems like she’s always been attracted to the kind of man who’s bad for her.

In fact, it’s been one textbook bad-boy after the next, and it’d left her feeling so defeated that she decided quit dating altogether…for a whole year! Click here to read more
