Warner has no sooner achieved his dream of retirement from the killing game when he is enticed by the UK government to become an undercover agent and bring down GIBESTA, a new independence movement in Gibraltar led by the charismatic Michael Vella.

Spain has been trying for years to take back the Rock from Britain, and GIBESTA is playing into their hands. A conference between the UK and Spanish governments is scheduled, and hints that it may result in a victory for Spain cause unrest on the Rock. Warner’s talents as a former spy prove invaluable, but his talents as a reluctant but ruthless assassin are the ones that will ultimately win the day.

Into this story of intrigue and betrayal are woven Warner’s relationships with two women – Linda, ex-mistress of a Spanish general who is implicated in a move to take back Gibraltar, and Elena, daughter of the same general, who falls for Warner and is prepared to defy her father to help him.
