Fang, a hardened veteran of countless gang wars, has one mission: to avenge his family. Since his childhood, he has climbed the ranks of the gang responsible, waiting for his chance to kill the man who stole his future. The streets of Dockside chew up the weak and sentimental; only the most ruthless survive, and Fang intends to come out on top.

On the outside, his childhood friend Birch is a man of the people and a force unto himself. Through notes and messengers, Birch and Fang have coordinated a slow-burning plot to destroy their mutual enemy.

But when Fang's boss orders him to steal a magical stone from a royal ship, Birch demands Fang hand it over to him instead. Fang is caught between the ultimate reward -- the right to challenge his parents' murderer -- and the growing spark he feels for Birch.
