From USA Today Bestselling Author, K.C. FallsTristan King - a man so far out of my league that I should have thought twice.
He felt like the kind of man who didn't just break the rules, but made new ones. He led and it was follow or get
out of the way.
Why did a billionaire with a voice like liquid silk and a face like a bad angel take a second look at a girl in no-name jeans, with a fifteen-dollar haircut and a beat up car she calls her "Eep" because the 'J' fell off long ago?
I let him claim my desire before I had the chance to consider what that might have meant for me. For my life.
By the time I knew his secrets it was already too late.
He wove us together, giving me the life I'd always hoped for, making himself a hero in the bargain. It didn't
hurt that he pulled the people I love the most out of harm's way. A girl can get used to a knight in shining
armor even when the armor has some very large dents in it.
No matter what the future held, Tristan had changed me. I could only hope we'd survive.
This is part one of a series. Part 2 of the Year of the Billionaire is "Taking His Risk" and is available now on Kindle. Part 3 of Year of the Billionaire is "Keeping His Promise" and is also available on Amazon.
This book is steamy, sexy and five chilies hot.
**From the Author
As a big fan of Fifty Shades of Grey and Bared to You, Crossfire series, I thought perhaps I had something in me that was worth writing. E.L. James and Sylvia Day have done so much for the steamy romance genre and I do want to tip my hat to those authors. Fifty Shades of Grey and Bared to You have blazed a trail. Thank you, E.L. James and Sylvia Day from this author and all those who follow in your amazing footsteps.
About Knowing his Secret (Year of the Billionaire Vol. #1)
I've always loved acting. I drew on my experiences in amateur theater for the setting where Tristan and Raina meet. A lot of people are surprised at how much talent can be found in Little Theaters. Even though folks don't get paid, they put a lot of effort and time into these productions. I thought that the setting would be a good way to keep the characters together without having them actually work together. For me, the apprentice and the big powerful boss is a plot line that's getting a bit worn.
In creating the characters for Knowing his Secret, I wanted to craft believable people. I didn't want to take a cookie cutter image of a dominant billionaire and an innocent young woman. Tristan has his warts (of course, not the physical kind) and Raina is no pushover. As the series progresses, there is a subtle shift in the power dynamic. Even though the characters are larger than life, I wanted to reflect the kind of changes that naturally take place in a relationship over time.
Attention to detail is one of my obsessions. I probably don't need to do as much research as I do for my books, but I want to make sure that you can get from point A to point B in fifteen minutes if I say you can. Particularly in part two of this series--Taking his Risk, I add quite a bit of background to the characters' little French vacation.
About the Author
The 'C' in my name stands for Cheyenne. Although youwouldn't know it by looking at me, I have a great grandparent who was a memberof that Native American Tribe. Herpeople once lived in the very southeastern corner of Montana where I nowmake my home. I didn't always live in such a wide open space, though. I grew upin New York City. Much as I love the city and admire what it takes to livethere, I met a kindred spirit at Columbia University and together, we found away to take our lives from the Big Apple to the Big Sky. We haven't regretted amoment.
We've got a smallish ranch where we raise cattle and keep amenagerie of other animals, too. Once or twice a year, we hire a 'ranch sitter'and take an urban vacation somewhere hitting all the restaurants, plays, museums and musical performances we can squeeze in. Then it's back to the wideopen.
A writer finds creativity flourishes in solitude. My fantasyworld is full of characters and stories lined up and waiting for me to bringthem to life. I hope you will enjoy reading them as much as I enjoy writingthem.
