Henry Richards is having a really bad day. It started with his own murder, and it’s gone steadily downhill from there. Forced into a new life as the Grim Reaper, he must collect the souls of the dying—stubborn, lost and dangerous souls that don’t want to be collected.
When Henry is sent to collect the soul of a middle-aged housewife, he decides to save her instead; but ignoring the rules has dire consequences, and he soon finds his name on an assassin’s hit list. But will they be enough to help Henry stop the assassin before every name is crossed off his list, or will Henry’s enemies manage to kill him…again?

**About the Author
Jeremy Hance is a forty-year-old man who only acts his age as a desperate last resort. He holds three degrees, including two from the University of Washington; since none of them have anything to do with writing, or anything Jeremy is likely to ever write about, he's really just bragging and should realize you don't care. Jeremy's day job is writing computer software (at least until he's a world famous author with legions of adoring fans and his own HBO series…which should be, you know, any day now). He lives with his loving wife and two beautiful daughters in the Seattle area, where he has been known to pounce at them from around corners, and tickle all of them without mercy.
His Name Was Death is Jeremy's first book, but it is far from his last. He is currently working on Book 2 of the "Dead Man's Tale" series, The Second Beast
