Death in Living Gray

Prudence Abernathy, a native Californian, married into an old plantation family in Mason County, Virginia. When the facing on the fireplace of the manor house collapses, exposing a skeleton in a Confederate Lieutenant’s uniform and a stolen bracelet, Prudence is accused of the theft. Aided by friends and her status as an almost-local, she sets out to prove her innocence by investigating a list of likely suspects, with sometimes amusing results.
