When Dash's plane crashes in the South Pacific, he is the only survivor. The natives decide to offer him as a human sacrifice to their Volcano God, who cursed them with drought and hardship. Despairing of rescue, Dash reviews his luckless existence, entertained and cheered by a young native girl and a former god, a half-man, half-fish, possibly imaginary creature who calls himself "Willy."
