father through the Great Chicago Fire of 1871 and it’s aftermath. One
particularly harrowing scene from the fire, laid out in this tale, continues to
haunt Jessie in Darlin’ Druid, volume one of the trilogy. She also has
her first prophetic dream of the man who leads her on a dangerous quest for
love in DD.
