Crimson Vampire Night

Page 12

by Zac Zara

"Good morning everyone! RIght now all of you know the situation. During the raid to flush out and kill the rest of the cultist in the area it seems our enemy had laid a trap in waiting. This trap was a siren that was able to control both vampires and werewolves from both sides and forced to to attack the human population in St. Charles. This had amounted in loses for both us and the Crimson Hounds but an even more greater body count of the human residence. This has been resulting in the panic and chaos of the city. Not only that, it has exposed the supernatural to the human society and put everything at work in jeopardy. This is a most serious matter!" One of the wiacdrs stood up in anger and voiced his concern.

"That is putting it lightly Ishmael. Innocent people are DEAD! More given the panic all over. But now there's going to be retribution from human hunters who will see this as an excuse to hunt all supernatural creatures, monsters or not. Not just for the humans but for the crimson Hounds too. Our Obsidian knights killed a great number of them in battle. Shane Crimson and his wife is going to be looking for blood and payback." This was wizard Lucian Lancaster, head representative of the magic society.

"I know this! But there is more seriousness than you know Lucian. The Eternal Order have been aware of this." The meeting started to grew in loud commotion at the mention of this Eternal Order. The Eternal Order is a high society of vampires who oversee and maintain the secrecy of all supernatural beings. It is made of different vampire families, Ishmael and the Nightworth Clan are part of it.

"I have had word with them and it seems they have made a decision on the Crimson Hounds." The entire meeting was waiting for what he had to say.

"What is this decision they have made!" Desmond asked his father. "They have decided that the crimson wolves have become too dangerous for them to exist in the St. Louis and St. Charles area and action must be taken. They have demanded that the Crimson wolves by the end of tonight, be removed or destroyed as retribution for the slayings and to restore peace to the rest of the St. Louis region." Ishmael said.

The whole meeting became in a uproar. Both sides were split! They start to yell at one another like children. "This is absurd Ishmael. They were victims too. Do you not know that this will cause a massive conflict, it will cause a war. Shane will not go down without a fight!"

"I say damn the wolves! Now we can get them off our region for good this time!"

"There are innocent lives there! This can't be!" The whole meeting was in total chaos. But Ishmael had made his decision. "We will ask them peaceful to leave, forcefully if necessary but I will try to avoid if possible. But if war comes to it! Then war it is!"

While the meeting was interrupting, the young vampire Deacon was in his room in a sad state. He laid on the bad looking up at the ceiling, not feeling much of anything but emptiness. When he left Weldon, it didn't just feel like a goodbye for now but a goodbye forever, like they weren't going to see each other again ever. Weldon was so sad. He had never seen him in that state before. He looked crushed. His best friends had been killed and he didn't know what to say. Deacon just laid there while his mother Helen slowly came into the room. She sat next to him on the bed.

"Oh Deacon! Tell me what troubles you!" Helen asked Deacon. "The Crimson Hounds, they lost so many people last night! They weren't monsters, their just guys, kids like me. They were slaughtered." Deacon said.

"I know! We all were victims of last night! But it will all be corrected soon! You'll see!" Helen said.

"What do you mean?" Deacon said. "I’m not sure yet! That's what your father said earlier. He didn't give me details but I'm sure this will all work out i the end." Helen said. She gave Deacon a massive hug.

"I'm very proud of you though! Luckily we didn't lose too many thanks to you!" Helen got up and left the room. Deacon wondered what she said and then it came to him. He went over to the other side of the room, thinking about what the siren and Wellington said. They had done all this for a reason and now Deacon had an idea what that reason was. It dawned on him like a rock. He quickly ran out of his room and went looking for his father. He ran past several halls and servants to find him. Then he found him in his office meeting with all the other night captains and Uthyxeth. They seemed to be going over some sort of plan of attack and their forces, Ishmael was surprised to see him

"Deacon! what is going on?" Ishmael said.

"Dad, father, please tell me you're not going to start a war with the Crimson Hounds? You can't do this!" Deacon said. "We're going to try and avoid a war with them but we are going to remove them from the region but hopefully without force." Ishmael told him.

"You can't do that! They won't go without force. You think they're going to leave their homes they took years to build and create. They're fight to the death for it, especially with vampires coming in to take them away from their homes."

"We have no choice! They have exposed hs all to the human world and put everyone in danger! We need to get action to prevent this from happening." Ishmael told Deacon. "They must pay for the human lies they have taken."

"It wasn't their fault. This is the work of the cultist! They're causing this all to happen. Plus they did pay for it. They lost wolves too, some of them just kids!" Deacon pleaded with him. Ishmael took Deacon and both went into the hall to talk.

"I know! But It seems we're in a bad situation to begin with. Even if we don't attack them, they will want retribution for the wolves they lost. This isn't just about who did what and why, it's about protection the Nightworth Legion and the city. I can't let that happen to us!" Ishmael told him.

"You told me the reason why werewolves and vampires hate each other was the past. That we killed they because of the monsters we were back then and the stupid decision we made. Well this is a stupid decision that's pretty monstrous to me. You're going to make the same mistake our ancestors made!" Ishmael took a long breath and put his hand on his son's shoulder.

"I know but there's nothing we can do! What's done is already down!" He told Deacon as he went back to his office. Deacon heard that same thing from Wellington and the siren. But he didn't buy that crap.

"Maybe for all of you! But not for me or someone else I know!" Deacon said. The young vampire went off down to the armory to grab some stuff. He took his claymore, the double barrel shotgun, and some leather armor and plenty of bullets. Then he went back down to where his car was. He had an idea on how to stop this but he needed help. There was one guy that could, one stubborn handsome werewolf. He just had to call him first.

Back at the village of Wolf's Hollow, the grief and sadness was even more heavy in the atmosphere and residence there. It was noon with the blue sky hanging over then along with the bright yellow sun there too. Shane and Vesper Crimson along with all the wolves of the Crimson Hounds were gathered around the lake sa take of their morning ceremony. They all surrounded the lake with Shane, Vesper, and Weldon on the pier overseeing the final goodbyes of their fallen. One the shore were small boats with their fallen wolves inside.

They all had been prepared and restored to look their best by the undertaker for their loved ones. Lary had his head put back on and dressed well. Shane and Vesper were riddled with grief as their eyes were bloodshot from tears. Weldon was over by Luther who was dressed in this favorite outfit. It was a tuxedo that he got for his prom but never returned. The two parents caemover and got Weldon. But not before he placed something in his pocket. It was this silver dollar that was given to him when their were kids. It was supposed to be lucky.

"Here buddy! You'd probably could use this more then me!" Weldon said. The werewolf got up and went over to his father. Shane held his son then walked out to the end of the pier to give a speech.

"Werewolves are not immortal, that is a fact that separates us for nearly all the supernatural beings out there. In fact, you can say that we are the most fuman of the supernatural world. They say that makes so weak, valuable. But I say that is what makes us strong, powerful, and not some walking corpse with the face of a man. We acre ali
ve and we have a pulse.

But also know that even when we're gone, that don't mean we are truly gone. Death is not the end, but just the beginning for us. Whether you believe there's a heaven, God, buddha or whatever you wish to believe, I know there is something after this world. You should too! These wolves went into that city to fight for peace. No matter what happened last night! They had their hearts in the right place. They wanted to protect their pack and the human world.

Luther was a good kid, brother, and warrior wolf in our pack. But he was also my nephew but in a way he was like my second son. Larry was one of our oldest wolves but he was also a powerful hunter nd was damn powerful. He wasn't afraid to speak his mind and will glad tell you how he felt, negative or otherwise.

I respected him for that but also for raising me when my father wasn't there and for raising my son when I wasn't always there for him. He made me my son, Luther, and so many of our wolves into men. He luther, and all over wolves who are no longer with us. Me, my family, the pack, but also all wolves out there say goodbye, thank you for all that you have done! May you all find peace."

Then Shane nodded to the wolves by the boats. They pushed them out into the lake where they floated out to the middle of the lake. They he looked to the wolves with the crossbows with fire arrows that aimed for the boats. Then the archers aimed and fired their arrows into the sky. This massive volley of arrows flew through the air then hit the boat. They consumed the boats into a ball of fire, lighting up the lake in a glorious blaze. Some of the wolves threw flowers into the water with floating reefs in morning. Then with the boats burning behind Shane and his family, he gave another speech.

"But now is not the time to mourn. Due to last night! The Nightworth Legion will be coming for us. Mostly they will try to rid us from our homes and this town." The crowds started to grow restless, the other folks start to cry in panic.

"I'm sorry to bring this on you but it is true! They are coming and they will be here in great forces and by tonight! But does that mean we'll going to let them just push us around like we're their slaves."

"NOOOOOOO!!!" The wolves all shouted! Weldon did not like where this was going. He looked around at the wolves who looked full of rage. They were wanting blood! They looked like him from last night when he saw Larry but these wolves don't have the restraint he had. They were in a freezy of hate.

"This is OUR HOME! We built it with BLOOD! We fought for this place, died for this land. If they want us to get off and leave. Then I don't see why they should be surprised that we're not leaving with a fight. WE'RE NOT LEAVING! NOT NOW AND NOT EVER!" Shane yelled to them. The wolves shouted in glorious praise to Shane. Vesper hugged her husband in support. But Weldon was not onboard with this. He saw this as a very bad idea.

"Knowing those vamps, they're probably attack at midnight! So we're be ready for them by then. Those who can't fight, elderly woman and children, and any that can't fight will be taken to the wolf camps further south till this is all over. But for the rest of us here, this is WAR!" They all cried out in victory. Several of them started to transform into beast. Weldon looked around in a panic. He knew this is bad.

"Gather as many wolves as you can! I'll be home, getting ready." Shane said walking off with Vesper. Nearly all the wolves started gathering supplies. They were taking the women and children to the vans and buses to be taken to the camps for safety. The camps were a special place for them to go if things went bad there. The wolves had that look in their eyes. They wanted revenge for their fallen brothers.

Weldon burst inside of the living room where Shane and Vesper were talking with the other wolves. They were discussing plans for their incoming attack to their home.

"Dad! Listen to me! We have to talk!' Weldon said coming in. "I know Weldon! Luther was a good wolf. But we need to talk about it later. Hopefully when this attack is over." Weldon said.

"No! This attack is going to be a slaughter on both sides. You have to contact Ishmael or someone to stop this." "IT's pointless to try. With what our wolves did, they see us as nothing but monsters now! They already have a massive force gathering with powerful weapons and soldiers too. But this is our home, our place and I'll be damned if those undead vamps take it away from us." The others in the room nodded.

"Yeah! I know! I heard the speech! But not all the vampires there are bad. Some of them are good! Not the horrible douchebag monsters you thought they were. Just try and talk to them. YOu might find they can be reasoned with." Weldon said.

"Talking isn't something I've been good at talking and it's not talking that saved this pack time and time again and talking won't save us now. Fist, claws, and bites will and that's what will save this pack. Strength in numbers." Shane said.

"This dick measuring contest is going to kill our pack. You have to find another way dad! I don't know what but there has to be something!" Weldon said. Shane went over to him and rubbed his head.

"There is no other way! What's done is already done!" Shane said. WEldon left the room and walked back outside. He leaned against the building, unsure of anything to do. He felt like a small car moving at ta semi truck without anywhere to go. He felt helpless. He wished he could have Luther with him. Luther would have made some kind of joke about them, he would call him and Deacon Romeo and Juliet. But he was gone. But there was someone he wanted to see. He wanted to see Deacon again and right now.

He felt horrible the way he left him. He didn't want to leave him. He didn't want to say goodbye. Weldon cared about him, loved him. He wanted to tell him he wanted him. Weldon wanted to be with him at that moment.

"I'm sorry Deacon! I'm the idiot!" But then he got a call on his phone. It was Deacon Nightworth. Weldon got excited and answer it.

  "Deac! Hi!"

  "Hey Weldon!"

"Listen! I'm sorry! Shouldn't have left you like that! I just want to say I'm the one the idiot. I'll shouldn't have just let you go like that!"

"It's ok Weldon! We can talk about it when we meet in the city!" deacon said. "I need to speak with you! The Nightworth Legion is coming for you guys. In full force too!"

"Yeah! We figured too. The Wolves are preparing for the attack as well. IT's going to be a bloodbath." Weldon replied. "What the hell we going to do?"

"Let's meet in the city at the overpass! Then we can talk!" Deacon said.

"But the sunlight! It's a clear day. You'll die!" Weldon said. "Good point! There's some sweres that run under the St. Charles area there. I'll be right under the overpass. Check the sewer drain there." Deacon said.

"Ok! Hope you still smell good when we meet!" Weldon said.

"More stupid jokes! I love that! Meet you there!" Deacon said.

"You too! Take care til then prince! I want you and don't want to have to say goodbye to you either." "Yeah! You too!" The vampire warrior hung up then went for the basement where there was a entrance to the sewers But then he ran into Uthyxeth, Sonja, and Slickman in front of the door. Deacon didn't know what to do or say. He stood there with them facing him. Uthyxeth walked up to him then threw him this large heavy black cover.

"It's a UV proof over! It should protect you from any harmful rays. Go see him!" Uthyxeth said.

"Go find your man!" Slickman. "Love will save the day!" "What he said. Go on!" Sonja said. Deacon hugged the three of them. Uthyxeth looked uncomfortable. He doesn't hug. Then the young vampire ran off down into the basement and the sewers. The three watched him go off.

"Maybe you can stop this war!" Uthyxeth replied. Meanwhile, Weldon got on his bike and drove off down the road. He left his pack back there, hopefully finding a way to stop this.

"There he goes again that boy!" The Receiver said. Deacon slowly made his way down the long winding tunnels of the sewer that went on forever. Deacon walked on the edge of the walkways while sewer water flowed down next to him like a river. The rats alone were nasty and were the size of large dogs. But to Deacon that wasn't the strangest thing he ever saw. He did his best to avoid the sunlight pouring in thr
ough the cracks of the drains. Lucky for him it was only a few plus it was getting late in the afternoon so the sun was moving through behind trees and buildings.

Deacon had to have walked several miles through the sewers. The smell was bad but Deacon had smelt worse. Deacon drink several blood bottles to keep his strength up. He wasn’t going to drink any of those rats. There was no telling what kind of diseases they carried. It was only when Deacon reached the Missouri River when the sun was close to setting. Deacon looked out with the river looking for a way to cross. But the sun was over the trees so he didn't' have to. He just climbed up the bridge and crawled across. Once he went through the patches of trees around St. Charles, he made his way to the streets.

Then Deacon just stayed in the shadows making his way to the overpass. Deacon went from one shadow to the next, looking for where the sun was. But then he heard this myocycle sound. Weldon came riding up next ot Deacon. The werewolf ahd the look of shear excitement and love sickness. Deacon was the same way.

"Deac!" Weldon yelled when he saw the vampire. "Weldon!" The two hugged each other

"I'm so sorry! I shouldn't have left you like that!"

"Don't worry! I understand! You lost your friend. You don't' have to say and explain yourself. I'm just glad you came back!" Then the two kissed each other.

"Let's get you somewhere safe to talk!" Weldon said. "Ok!"

  “How was the sewers!”

“It was the sewers! I guess every adventure has a sewer level. I guess I should be grateful that I didn’t have to fight sewer blobs!”

“That was nothing! I went swimming in the runoff from the sewer trying to find buried treasure! It's a long story!” Weldon said. While Deacon was getting on the bike he found something was in his pocket. It was the silver dollar he placed with Luther at the funeral. But how did it get in his pocket.
