“Alright, boys, I guess I’ll figure something out,” I said as I started to creep towards the room, I should have probably been avoiding. Maybe I had powers, and perhaps I didn’t. Maybe, I was some guy that was a badass motherfucker. Who knows? All I know was that I didn’t have a plan.

There was a room to my right with a little window. Creeping over like a wannabe ninja that was starting to sweat and get the shakes, I took a peek around the edge. There was a shelf set up on the inside, holding some typical stuff you might find in a room, in another world, in a jail.

Some containers looked like they had food previously, and there was some random junk on the counter. There was a spot for some keys. It was empty. Well, shucks, probably wouldn’t need cell keys for this room anyways. Not like I could just unlock the door and say, ‘Hey fellas! What’s up, homies?’ Even if I used my magic to open it, that wouldn’t be the best tactic.

Then I saw it. What I needed was stashed right by me against the partition that I was taking a peek over. A baton. A motherfuckin’ extendable metal one. I was no baton expert, but I did recall a friend telling me once that metal batons could fuck up a bone if handled correctly. Well, this should work. But what to do now?

I went up to the door and heard some voices in there. They weren’t doing horrible shit at the moment. Hopefully, it wasn’t because they didn’t have to do it anymore. I tried to think of a solution besides running away. That would be the best solution and what I would typically do. How the demon girl looked at me, though, it pulled me towards her. I had to help her out.

I decided that I needed to get them to come out. I heard two voices in there. I figured I could always pull the- they walk out and hit them on the head routine. Well, what is the worst that could happen? I could die. Oh well, fuck it. When the shakes got worse, I would feel like dying anyway.

I stood away from the door and reached the baton over to tap on it. I gave it a few knocks and held my breath. Then after a bit, I heard some movement inside. Someone moved right up by the door. “Why are you knocking?” A muffled gruff voice said from the other side.

“Housekeeping,” I said in my best mocking female voice.

The door opened, and a guard stepped out. He was pretty big, but so was my baton, I figured. I honestly didn’t know if they had different sized baton weapons, but this one seemed pretty good for what I needed. Still, I didn’t like my odds. He started to turn towards me, and I put some effort into that baton as I swung it and I slammed it right into the guard’s helmet. He snarled, and I figured I was fucked, but then he suddenly dropped like a sack of potatoes. That was when I stepped into the room.

Then I saw her again, and she was locked into a gadget that held her in an embarrassing spread eagle pose. Her arms were out, and her legs spread. If this was in a bedroom, and she wasn’t all fucked up. It would be a pretty hot sight, I think. She couldn’t speak. Her mouth was covered with a leather strap; written on it was some writing that I couldn’t read. It could have been the name of a bondage shop for all I knew.

A guard turned and looked at me. “What are you doing here?”

“Well, there aren’t any pillows to fluff. I guess I came here to tell you to fuck off,” I said as I snapped my fingers and pointed to the guard's ugly face. The captive hot girl and he both gave me strange looks.

He laughed. “If you just tried to do some magic, that was pretty weak.” He started towards me, and I didn’t have the element of surprise this time. That was terrible news for me. I did get lucky in a few bar fights in the past, though, so I wasn’t super hopeless.

“I was just telling you to fuck off because you are scaring the pretty lady here,” I teased. He stepped towards me, bringing up his baton. I swung mine at his head, but he was ready. He blocked it with his baton and then took a counter swing at me. I moved back, avoiding a blow that would have fucked me up pretty bad, but being a wannabe junky ninja, I also fell. I landed with a thud on my back below the girl. My baton came out of my hand, landing by her foot. She was looking down at me as I was looking up at her. I was between her legs, looking like the pervert this land thought I was. Her eyes gave me a look of ‘are you serious right now?’

The large guard was coming towards me, and I reached my hand back to find my baton. Instead of hitting me, he was advancing towards me like he was going to pick me up. Instead of my baton, I grabbed her ankle. On her ankle was the lock that secured it.

  Click.

Her foot flew out and kicked the guard right in the face with a crunch. He flew back and landed on the floor, unmoving. It also gave me a good peek at her sacred treasures. Maybe I was a pervert. Not like I did it on purpose.

“Hey there,” I said as I held my hands up to show I didn’t mean any harm. “You looked like you needed help, so I am here to help you. Please don’t kick me.”

  “Mmm…Mmmm…Mm,” she mumbled.

“Oh yeah, I guess you can’t talk with that in the way,” I reached up and looked at the strap over her mouth. I had to reach behind her head to access and release the clasp that held it in place. Which also put me a bit closer to her. Man, she smelled terrific. The clasp made a click sound and fell from her face.

“Thank you for saving me, Master,” she said as she looked at me with tears in her eyes.

“Um, it’s not a problem.” I know people have kinks, but I didn’t think she was tied up long enough for her to get all BDSM on me.

“Master, could you please get one of my hands free? I can do the rest,” she said to me.

“Yeah, sure,” I said as I looked at the one over her right wrist. I looked for a latch or something and couldn’t find it. “I’m not sure how to unhook these.”

“They are magical bindings, Master. You use magic as you did on the one that covered my ankle.”

“Oh yeah. Of course.” I put my hand on the lock and looked at her. She was giving me a curious look. Maybe a little disappointment. I thought about it unlocking. Nothing happened right away. Then, success.

  Click.

  “Fuck yeah!” I cheered.

“Thank you, Master,” she reached across down towards her ankle, said a few words softly that I didn’t understand. Then she did the same to her other wrist. “Why did you use that inferior weapon Master? I understand your magic is weaker at the moment, but you still could have used a weaker spell on someone like him,” she stated as she pointed down to the fallen guard.

“Well, I didn’t even know I had magic until I unlocked my cell somehow. So, I guess I know how to unlock locks now?”

  “You don’t remember?”

“I’m not sure. I just don’t know anything about here.”

“What is your name?” She asked me while she bit her lower lip.

  “Beck.”

In a flash, she was up close to me, and her lips were by my neck, and if I screamed out, I don’t think anyone would have blamed me. I honestly have no idea if I did, though. Her warm breath tickled my neck, and she was so close to me. If I weren’t so freaked out at the moment, this would have been pretty amazing. She took a deep inhale through her nose, taking in my scent. Then she pulled back and looked into my eyes.

“You must not remember, but you are my Master. You are Rezner. I’m not sure why you don’t remember. It could be from when you vanished from here,” she said.

“Maybe? I have a couple of years where I didn’t have memories of anything that time ago. Honestly, I don’t remember any of this place. I have no clue.”

“You wouldn’t. You were never held in a prison such as this.”

“I mean, this whole whatever- this place is,” I said as I stretched out my arms. “This world. I was in my world when I got pulled here, or whatever.”

“Master, how did you end up here in the jail? Maybe fate pulled you to me.”

“I think it was more landing in the street with my pants down and a girl explaining to these guard people that I was a pervert.”

“Ah,” she exhaled out. “Well, you were always
into the arts of perversion. Not of that kind as far as I know.” She tapped her finger to her chin. “Unless this is a new thing you like to…”

“Fuck, no!” I cut her off. “Are we going to be ok? I’m sure there are more of the guards around here.” I was starting to sweat a little more and shake.

“I don’t sense anyone; we are safe for now, Master. We incapacitated all the guards,” she said.

I still wasn’t sure how I felt about this master business. It was a lot of sudden changes for me at once. Go from working my shit job to being in the streets. It was a shit job, though. I was honestly surprised how well I was handling what was happening to me. Everything I had been through; I suppose I was used to more things than the average person. “So, what do I call you?” I asked.

“You,” she said seductively while poking my chest lightly. “Can call me whatever you like. Slave, pet, servant…”

“Whoa, hold on! I mean, what is your name.”

  “Mecci.”

“Well, hello, Mecci,” I said as I took her hand that was poking me and gave it a light squeeze and shake. She looked up at me smiling, and even if she was a demon, she had a brilliance to her that could be noticed across town. She looked that happy. I don’t think a girl, or I guess in this case someone of the female gender, ever looked that happy over me. “I think it is time we blow this joint.”

“Blow, what master? Your…” She said as she looked down.

“No, no, no! I mean, let’s leave this place. Do we have anywhere to go?”

“We have your domain, but it isn’t your domain as much anymore. You have been gone a long time.”

I had a domain. Whatever that could mean here. I didn’t remember any of it. You would think major things like being powerful, having a domain, being generally badass, would be memorable. “Mecci, what kind of person was I?”

“The best kind. You are my Master.”

“All I hear so far are things about me being some badass. A god, or something.”

Mecci put her arms up around my neck, gazing into my eyes with a look of hesitance. “I feel villain or hero, good or bad is subjective Master. You did what you wanted to do. You weren’t very lenient when things didn’t go your way. You were powerful, and you coveted power. People that followed you after you gained supremacy. They respected you and thought you as good for them. People against you thought the opposite. I suppose a majority were against you, but they also were swayed by the government and royal family,” Mecci explained.

“So basically, I took what I wanted and hurt anyone that was in my way.” I was a dick.

“You fulfilled your desires of what you wanted, and you were a leader to people that are viewed by the majority as less valued in this world. While you did take what you wanted, you also lifted others up. You were a beacon to those with no hope. These men that are locked up here,” she continued as we walked down the hallway back to the cells. “These men here, they are probably incarcerated for having to do things they needed to do to survive. Things weren’t great when you first started to gain power. They are worse now.”

I replied with only one word, “Why?”

The old man stood up slowly and seemed a little unsteady, and he began to speak. “Victor Mccann is in charge of everything you created these days. When you left, there was a power vacuum, naturally being a bit more powerful, he filled that void. Victor only cares about himself. He does not care for us or anyone,” he said as he spit on the ground.

“Mecci, why aren’t you in charge? I mean, you seem like you were pretty close to me. I would think you would be in charge or something,” I said.

“After you were gone, I did not have the strength for such things. Even if many would agree with the thought of me running things in your stead, I am but a familiar you created. No one would want to follow a familiar. Also, my power is connected to yours. You were gone. It dropped substantially.”

“Oh,” I replied. “Well, that’s some shit.”

“Some shit indeed, Master,” she said.

“Mecci, get these folks out of these cells,” I directed, which seemed to make all the inmate’s depression improve. “Old man, what’s your name?”

  “It is Warren,” he said.

“Well, Old Man Warren, we will get all of you out of here. You seem to have some street smarts. We need to get out of here and find a place to sort our next plan of action, or whatever. Maybe get a beer.”

“Your agenda, look at you falling back into what you should be,” said Mecci.

I ran my hand through my hair. “Well, I don’t know all about that. It’s probably just the way I’m used to phrasing things in the office.”

“An office?” Mecci asked while she tilted to the side, squeezing her breasts with her arms. Yeah, watching her do that, I knew she would be trouble.

“An office is a … you know, never mind,” I said.

Mecci went around with the jailer’s keys and started to unlock all the cells. The cell doors creaked with a little something extra. It seemed the inmates were put and left in there for quite some time. As I thought before, they didn’t look to be in very good shape. They needed baths, probably medicine, and maybe a dentist or seven. They were a mess.

“Rezner, I wish to invite you back to our dwelling. It is the least we can do to give thanks for our rescue,” Warren said.

“I appreciate it Warren, you all live together?”

“We are in a guild. It is called Yumi, after the guild leader.” Some of the inmates were supporting the weaker men. They held on to what was left of their clothing and lifted them under their arms. It seemed some men wouldn’t be leaving this prison as my eyes fell on those left behind. They laid still on the floor. The men that were standing were nodding with toothless grins to what Warren was saying. They agreed.

“This Yumi, they must be impressive,” I said.

“Lady Yumi will be most honored to hear the great Rezner declare that,” Warren said.

So, things were a bit more forward-thinking here and progressive. Surprisingly for sure. I figured only men would be in charge of this world. Even in my world, women had a more challenging time getting in higher places. Well, except the bitch. But she was a bitch, so she doesn’t count. Fuck her.

  Chapter Three

We left out the back exit of the prison house. They were moving at a slower pace; Warren informed me that they had been drugged while they all were locked away. It lowered their mental sharpness, which is most likely why I assumed he was a crazy old man. It should wear off soon. It would be bad to have a bunch of jail birds walking out the front door, all dirty and disheveled, especially with how this town reacted to me and my unfortunate events. It’s like they fed on drama, and people being strung up on ropes in the middle of the square would be the best thing ever. That is what can happen when online cat videos and memes don’t exist. There was a storeroom that had some cloaks that we acquired by borrowing them, theft. They were kind of old and dingy, but they did the trick to hide who and what we were. Even Mecci was tucked in a cloak and all covered up in disguise. The opposite of how she usually looked. She didn’t look pleased about it, but she did what was needed.

The area we occupied at that moment was further away from where I arrived in town. I relaxed a little more, knowing I wasn’t in complaint distance of this world’s this is my street, and I’m calling the police because you are ruining my day type people. I tripped up a little when I stubbed my toe on some random wood in the walkway. Looking down, I noticed I was still in dress shoes. I sighed internally, knowing I would need to get some new threads. To fit in and also for safety.

“Master, you didn’t happen to get poisoned or anything, did you?”

I gave her a nervous glance. “Why do you ask?”

“You are all sweaty and trembling. Look at your hands. The guards didn’t give you anything or stick you with anything?”

I held my hands out in front of me, and they were shaking, and I felt pretty sick. I was honestl
y probably going to lose my lunch very soon, so to speak. I felt ashamed, and I didn’t want people to know the real reason I was shaking. I really didn’t want to be left alone and ditched. When you had issues like mine, people put you on the bottom of the list of being trustworthy and reliable. Hell, you weren’t even added to that list. “I think… I think I just don’t feel very good from everything that happened, you know, involved in a summoning, getting hit in the head, and all that.”

She looked at me curiously. She had to know, and it made me feel sicker inside. I was no good, and I didn’t feel impressed with myself lying to her. I could bearly function in my world. How was I going to do anything here? I didn’t have what I needed to fix that issue. My bag didn’t come with me. “Ok, Master. I will keep my eye on your condition just in case.”

Remembering my clothing, I decided to change the subject. “Mecci, at some point, I am going to need to get some new clothes to wear. The ones I am currently wearing don’t really fit in with this world.”

“Yes, we will have to get you some more, Master. You could probably just make some, though,” Mecci said.

“I don’t really know how to sew or do things like that.” Not the types of needles I was good at using.

Mecci started laughing. She laughed, and then she snickered some more. The men around us looked nervous because she laughed so hard it was probably addressing the ears of people across town.

“Master,” she said as she sniffled and wiped the laughter tears from her eyes. “You don’t need to sew them or buy them. You just make them.”

“Yes, make them. Mecci, how does one make clothing?”

“Use your magic. Your Imagination Magic. I suppose you are the only one that I know of that can make them that way.”

I ran my hand through my hair as I thought. If I was thinking correctly, Imagination Magic was precisely what it sounded like. If I could imagine something that was possible to exist, I could make it so. Very powerful indeed. It must have some limits, though, or I would have really done whatever I wanted, unchecked. Mecci seemed to pick up on what I was thinking about, so she went into more detail.
