Never Go Back
Page 8
“Sorry, sorry,” she snickered, fighting to get herself back under control, “I'm sorry, I just...”
“I know, I know.”
“That was crazy!” she gasped, “Absolutely crazy! I can't believe what just happened in there! We could have been shot! We could have been killed! We're lucky we made it out of there alive, Jordan Bishop!”
“Yeah,” he said, rubbing the back of his neck. “I know.”
She shook her head, still shaking with laughter, though it was fading now, the sobering reality of their brush with disaster beginning to settle in. “I'm going to tell you know, this fucker had better show up, that's all I'm going to say.”
“Let's hope so.”
She took a deep breath, leaning back in her seat. She shut her eyes and put her hand on her heart. She felt the bare skin of her breast, her top was so low-cut that it only went a little over the nipple, revealing more than it concealed. She felt a smile cross her lips, and she touched her fingers against her mouth, brushing them softly over the place where he had kissed her.
“About, uh, what happened in there...” he said, sounding uncharacteristically uncertain.
She rolled her cheek against the headrest and looked at him, grinning broadly. “Yes?”
“It was, uh... quick thinking. Convincing him like that. He might not have even heard us out if you hadn't, you know...”
“Kissed you?”
He cleared his throat. “Yeah.”
“Maybe I was just looking for an excuse to do it,” she said, feeling impossibly daring. She'd just been shot at, for God's sake. How frightening could it be to tell a man that she was into him after that?
“I've been... wondering... if you might be.”
“Is that okay?”
“I don't know,” he said, his dark eyes locked together with her own, “is it?”
She swallowed, her finger finding her wedding ring and playing at the smooth curve of the gold band. “There's something I need to tell you.”
“Oh?” He was leaning towards her, the leather seat creaking slightly as he moved.
“I'm married.” Saying the words felt like ripping the scab off a wound. Now that they were out, however, she felt like a weight had been lifted.
“Yeah,” he said softly, “I'd figured that out.”
“But he and I... we aren't... I mean, we're barely... I hardly see him anymore, honestly. He's not...” She found she was staring at his mouth, at the shape of his full dark lips, the skin the color of chocolate, so warm and inviting. He put his tongue out and licked his lower lip very slightly, and she felt her heart leap in her chest.
“I understand.”
“It wouldn't be... a problem. We aren't really... anymore...” She was finding it difficult to focus her thoughts. All she could think of was the way his mouth had felt against her own. There was a warm heat blossoming between her legs, an intense energy which had been growing all evening long and was finally making itself unmistakably and unignorably known.
“Okay,” he said.
And then their lips were touching. She wasn't sure exactly how it happened, or which one of them had made the move which closed the last few inches between them; all she knew was that they were suddenly kissing again.
She moaned weakly, pressing her mouth tight against his. There was no one to perform for, no one to convince, and no reason to hold back.
She leaned across the car seat, reached her hand into his jacket, slipping it under his shirt. She shivered when she felt the naked skin of his abdomen, the hard muscle there. Her breath was coming in ragged whimpers, her lips playing against his own, her tongue teasing his. She found that her hands were shaking, almost too much to bear.
Click. His finger pressed her seatbelt release, then he closed his hand around her own, holding her still, keeping her steady. She felt as if she were melting inside, an overwhelming sensation of complete and total passion overtaking her.
Was this actually happening? Was it real? She drew him to her, and he leaned awkwardly across the seat. It seemed like their bodies couldn't get close enough together. She yearned for him, her whole being filled with desperate need.
She took his hand and she pulled it to her, put it to her breast. He cupped it gently, firmly, holding it in his palm. “Oh my God...” she murmured, and swallowed hard, “Oh my God.”
It was but a simple motion to slide down her top, then to take her fully in his hand. She felt her firm pink nipple brush against his dark palm, and looked down, saw his black fingers cradling the pale teardrop swell of her breast, and she looked up at him.
His eyes were focused on her own, gazing deep into her, as if looking into her very soul. “Do you want this?” he asked, his voice deep and rich and intoxicating. It sent shivers down her spine, all the way to the very heart of her.
She nodded, for a moment unable to speak. “Yes,” she finally managed to get out, her voice trembling and weak, “very, very much...”
“Should we find a place? A hotel or something?”
“I don't care,” she moaned, her face pressed against his, “I don't care. I want you. I want you right now.”
He groaned and he wrapped his arms around her.
She wasn't sure exactly how it happened, but they somehow managed to tumble into the backseat, grabbing at one another in a desperate frenzy, jerked on buckles and tugging zippers and pulling at cloth. They never got fully naked, but finally she was on her back with her shirt pulled down and her skirt pushed up and tights tangling around her ankles, and he was over her with his chest exposed and his pants unzipped.
She reached in and let out a gasp as she wrapped her fingers around the hard length of him. “Oh God,” she said again.
“Yeah,” he murmured back, his breath rasping.
She drew him out and felt her jaw drop. “Oh, Jesus. That's... that's really big.”
He grinned a little. “Yeah, guess it is a bit.”
“A bit? Fuck! I've never even seen... I mean... holy shit!”
She drew him fully out of his pants, hardly able to believe what she was seeing. He was at least ten inches long, possibly more, and thick. She could hardly imagine what it was going to feel like inside her. She held it in her hands, and it was heavy. She'd never held such a heavy cock before.
She looked up at him. “I... I don't know if I can...”
He kissed her hard. “Yeah, you can,” he said, his voice smooth and confident. “We're just gonna go nice and slow...”
And then he was laying her down onto her back and guiding himself towards her. She was so wet and so turned on that she could hardly stand it. She felt the naked tip of his cock brush against her lips down there and she gave a sharp tremble. She looked down, and saw the huge black snake pushing against the pink lips of her slit, and she shut her eyes, flopping her head back down and reaching up to hold his arms, trying to steady herself.
He pushed his hips forward slightly.
“Oh! Oh... Oooooh...” she said.
She laid her head back, and she looked out the window and saw a sea of stars overhead, and the distant glittering of the millions lights of the city. Then he entered her fully, and it all vanished in a swirling rainbow of ecstatic color, and she felt herself lost within the waves of pleasure.
As it turned out, he was right. She could, in fact, take the whole thing.
Chapter Eighteen
Natalie woke up curled up in the backseat of Jordan's car, completely naked with a fleece blanket draped over her unclothed body. She moaned softly, tugging the blanket just a little bit tighter about herself.
She fought back a yawn and wriggled her toes. She felt a sweet ache throughout her body, a keen sensation of tiredness and satisfaction. God, it had been years since she'd felt anything like that.
No, scratch that. She had never felt this satisfied before. She closed her eyes and for a moment she just basked in the flood of memory and feeling that suffused her body. A series of flickering images ran through her head.
r /> Her lips, wrapping tightly around his thick black cock, taking it deep in her mouth, sinking lower and lower as he groaned and slid his fingers into her auburn hair. The feeling of fullness as she struggled to take the fat thing. His voice purring almost with affection as he'd told her she was doing a good job.
His hands clutching her hips, holding her firmly as he slammed into her from behind again and again while she clutched the car door, pressed up against it. Her mouth falling open in a silent cry of ecstasy as he thrust into her again and again. She had never been taken with such raw animal power, such total control.
Her arms wrapped loosely around his neck as she rode him, straddling him and squeezing him with her thighs. She couldn't quite lower herself entirely down on him, but had to hold herself slightly up. She'd never experienced anything quite like it before – with her husband all too often she would have moments of doubt, wondering if he'd slipped out and wasn't even inside her anymore.
No possibility of that with Jordan. She was incredibly and totally aware of every inch of him inside her. His presence was overwhelming. Far from being uncertain of his presence inside her, she found rather that she was finding it difficult to extent her awareness to anything besides his cock. It was as if the outside world were falling away, leaving on this, only his body and hers, only the pleasure and sweet ache.
She remembered the cataclysmic force of her orgasm as it had burst over her, exploding like a supernova behind her eyes. She remembered being on her back with her wrists pinned down to the leather seat beneath her, the weight of his body on top of her, the pulsing motion of his cock deep inside, the pleasure radiating outwards.
She had stared up through the window at the black sky over her, seeming to spin and whirl like a halo. The pleasure had been like a great wave breaking on her, breaking her, shattering her like glass into a million shining pieces scattered all across the world.
And then his orgasm... The shiver that had passed through him, the way he'd trembled and tensed, his cock in her hands as she stroked it slowly towards his release. She'd gazed up at him, a frightful excitement coursing through her as the moment of his climax approached.
Then, with a groan and a tightening, he'd finally cum. It had spurted out thick and creamy across her breasts and neck, pearly white and thick, gushing out in a seemingly endless flood onto her skin.
Had all that really happened? It couldn't have just been a dream, could it?
She raised her head and looked around her. They were still in the parking lot, which was mercifully empty of other cars. The sunrise was breaking over the horizon in a rose pink glow. Jordan was sitting in the front seat, reclined slightly his eyes shut and his hands folded over his chest.
“Morning,” he said.
“Oh my God...” she sat up slightly, holding the blanket against herself, “we didn't really just do that, did we?”
“Regrets?”
“God, no! No, nothing like that. I just... I haven't done it in a car since I was a teenager. It was... something else.” She laughed awkwardly and rubbed her hands together.
He turned around, smiling slightly. “Seemed like you enjoyed yourself.”
“Oh... oh yes. Yes, I definitely did...” She looked down, then back up at him. “I'm sort of naked.”
“I noticed.”
She felt a blush rise on her cheeks and held the blanket a bit tighter about herself. “So, last night... what was that, exactly?”
“Exactly? I'm not sure. It was a hell of a thing though, I can say that much.”
“I mean... was it just, like, just a bit of fun, or... did it mean...?”
“It means whatever we want it to mean,” he said. “I care about you, Natalie. It wasn't just sex, not for me. If that's how you feel, though, it's fine. You don't have to worry about me-”
“No, no!” she interrupted hurriedly, “it was more for me too! A lot more. I... I think I might be a little bit in love with you.” She thought she might die of embarrassment as those words crossed her lips, but it was too late to take them back now. Anyway... they were true.
He looked at her with that look of absolute intensity which she had come to know so well, the one that always gave her chills. “I think I might have feelings for you too, Natalie Kendall.”
She swallowed. “What does that mean, anyway? Where does it leave us?”
He shrugged slightly. “Right here,” he said, “in this car. Together.” Then he leaned back, reaching a hand out to stroke her cheek. He drew her towards him and kissed her deeply on the mouth.
She let the kiss linger for a long moment. The blanket around her middle slipped down. She felt his hand brush over the soft skin of her breast, teasing the nipple. She pulled back, fighting back a smile. “Hey now... I have to be in court soon. You do too, you know. I have to give the opening statements for your sister's trial...”
“Do you have any preparation left to do?” he asked, giving her a hungry look up and down.
She shook her head, biting her lower lip slightly. “No. No, I've been ready for a couple days now, actually.”
“Well then,” he said, and his fingers brushed over the pink swell of her nipple, “I guess you've got a few hours before you need to be there, then, don't you?”
She couldn't help but smiling back. “I guess... maybe I do have a little while...”
“Hm... that's what I like to hear,” he said, and he reclined the seat so that he could come into the back with her. He put his arms around her and pulled her close, and he slipped under the blanket with her.
The sunrise painted the sea of glass and steel buildings all around them a brilliant orange and gold, all of them flashing as if the world around them had caught fire and was going up in a ferocious blaze.
Right at the moment, however, Natalie didn't care about anything outside the car. Everything she needed was right here.
Chapter Nineteen
Natalie peeked through the front door of her house, feeling a bit like a teenager trying to sneak past her parents without it being discovered that she'd been out partying all night long.
It was just before seven o'clock. The house was quiet; each creak of the floorboards sounded impossibly loud. Todd usually stayed up late gaming and wouldn't show his face until after ten or eleven at the earliest. She could just slip inside and shower and clean herself up and-
“Hi, hon.”
She froze. Todd's voice came from the darkness further in the house. She looked up and saw him sitting in the doorway, his hands around his knees and bags under his eyes.
Natalie was all too aware of how she looked right now. Her tight fishnet stockings had been torn when either she or Jordan – she wasn't sure which – had ripped them desperately off in the back of the car. Her skirt was askew and the top button of her little tube-top had popped off, revealing even more of her cleavage than had already been displayed. Her mascara was running, her lipstick was smeared and her hair was a fright.
She looked, more or less, like she'd spent the whole night fucking wildly in the backseat of someone's car.
“Hello, Todd.”
“Where have you been?”
She thought about how she could answer that. She hardly felt she could tell him that she'd gone to a secret gangster-ridden party in the slums and almost been killed in a hail of gunfire, then spent the whole night screwing her client's brother in the backseat of his car. It would probably raise a good many more questions than it would answer.
“I was out,” she said lamely.
He sighed, shaking his head back and forth. “I was worried.”
“I'm sorry,” she said, taking a step closer, “I should have called, I know that. I didn't mean to worry you, I just... I guess I didn't really think... you'd care...” She felt a pang inside at the words, and a lump in her throat.
She'd never said anything like that before, never even thought it. Now that she had, however, she knew that it was true. She didn't think he cared. She hadn't even thought he would notice,
to be honest, figured he'd be too plugged into his digital universe to register her absence.
“How can you say that?” he asked, his voice slightly hoarse.
She sighed. “Well, Todd, you haven't exactly been engaged in our marriage, lately, you know? I hardly see you anymore, and when I do it's like you're not even there in the room.”
“That's not fair...”
“Isn't it? It's been years, Todd. I feel like we hardly even know one another anymore.”
He took a deep breath, rubbing at his eyes with the backs of his hands. “Yeah... that's not totally my fault though. You've been so focused, so consumed by the work... There's no room for me anymore.”
She scoffed. “Oh, come on, Todd! I didn't have a choice. You put it on me, okay? I have to work, because you aren't going to. I didn't ask for this.”
“Okay, okay,” he said, holding a hand up, as if pleading for mercy. “Let's not... we don't have to get into all that right now, okay? I was just worried about you.”
Natalie stood there for a long moment, a million conflicted feelings bubbling up inside her. Hurt, confusion, anger... and sadness. She felt a pang of melancholy for what once been between them, and had been lost in the ensuing years.
She had loved him so much, once. They'd never been a perfect match for one another, and he hadn't been able to provide her with the kind of love or relationship she'd been looking for, but she still cared deeply for him, even if it was buried now beneath a mountain of hurts and resentments.
She shook her head and took a deep breath and she went to him. He looked up, and his eyes were glistening slightly.
Natalie sat down beside her husband and she put her arm around his shoulders and gave him a squeeze. For a long moment she just held him, stroking his upper arm gently and making quiet shushing noises. He laid his head against her, nuzzling gently.
