“Lord Xenon, you have returned so soon! It all went well, I presume?” inquired a servant.
“You petty imbecile! What makes you think I would have any complications when I have this?!” a voice bellowed from a man standing within the shadows of a corridor. “Everything is going according to plan. Act One is almost complete… all I have to do now is sit back and enjoy the show! Soon enough, it will be over. The King’s plan has been set into motion. But even His Royal Highness cannot comprehend what this all means!”
“My Lord, with your mastery of skills in so many things, should you not take the throne?” urged the lowly servant.
“Fool! I need not do such things; and hold your tongue while we are still in his house! He is my puppet, and I’m the puppeteer. When I pull the strings, he dances whether he knows to or not,” said the man in shadows.
“My Lord, is there anything I can do for you?” said the lowly servant.
“No, be gone and keep your tongue still. I grow tired of you, now be gone!”
As the man in the shadows dismissed his servant, he abruptly turned. His red leather trench coat flapped about his legs as he walked down the dimly lit corridor and disappeared into a room.
