The experienced remote sound engineer had established the audio feed within minutes of arriving at the funeral home. He couldn’t explain why the cell phone wouldn't reconnect after Rhonda's first seven attempts even though the signal strength showed full bars. She took that time to primp herself until the camera was ready. She was thankful she’d adorned herself for the funeral and would be set when the camera went live. The sound engineer prompted that it was only seconds to going on air. With her earpiece in, she could hear the studio cue to begin.
“This is Rhonda Peterson live from Crestview Funeral Home, where just a few minutes ago I was inside and witnessed the arrival of a bright, radiant being. For all intents and purposes, there’s an actual angel here, and in a just a minute or two we hope to bring you a live view of this visitation as we prepare to go back inside. Many are worried about a possible repeat from a week ago at the infamous Thomson and Thomson funeral home incident. Even today, police and church leaders are at a loss as to what happened that tragic day. There are many rumors that the investigation has gone cold. Today, however, while attending the funeral of my grandmother, we are witnessing what I have seen to be a beautiful angel. Yet, as of now, there has been no eulogy presented. So why is the angel here? What does it have to tell us?” After pausing while the camera finished filming a quick B roll of the venue, she continued. “And now I'm being told that we are about ready to go live with the picture.”
Rhonda listened in her ear piece to a question asked by Carson. She responded, “Carson, the angel did mention one thing, it directed me to make this call. It almost seems like it wants to be filmed. As we make our way inside, we’re reaching the outer doors. Yet, unlike at Thomson and Thomson, they appear to have remained unlocked for us. We are now making our way into the main chapel. Ladies and gentlemen, I believe we are about to make history and film for the first time ever, an actual angel.”
