  Next nextly, to my family, on whom I often inflicted these chapters with no context to see if they were as funny as I thought they were. Nothing says success like kids laughing so hard they fall off the couch. And to my wonderful husband, Craig, for always acting as my own affirmation gecko when I need it the most.

  High tens and super mega extra double turbo thanks to my co-author, Kevin, for asking me to be in an ill-fated fantasy anthology while we were eating airport barbecue at 10 A.M. in the Dallas airport. Some bad decisions were made that day, but not in the realm of dreaming about a book where fantasy tropes were lovingly poked and prodded, along with puns both great and terrible. This series has been such a fantastic journey with you, and I’ll forever remember our bar-hopping brainstorming sessions as some of the most lively and fertile creative explosions of my life. It may be time to swab up behind our literary boom-boom, but much like Brawny Billy, it shall live on in fond memories and also as crab food. You’re the best, homey!
