"They never did teach you how to battle in a melee situation did they?" he asks her as he tosses her a bottle of water.

She shakes her head, "Just guns, for the most part." She mutters.

He runs his fingers along the edge of the weapon that he was using, the edge of the wooden stick was frayed now and it seemed like it might crack soon. He didn't do much with it of course, just a few rounds with Yaki here and there, and training with her.

She seemed eager to learn and he didn't see any harm in teaching her. What was she going to do? Try to kill him again? That wouldn't work because he knew that she would not be able to get the drop on him, ever, not even the most trained human assassins and rogue Rialan warriors could kill him so how could she? He laughed at the thought, she likely just missed battle.

He watches as she gets to her feet yet again, she carries the same confidence that she had walked into this keep with, her medium-length black hair was swept back, she had wanted to cut it but decided against it at the last minute. She thought that it would tarnish her beauty, he made no comment.

  Just what was he doing?

He thought that he had sworn off having a relationship with her, he thought that he had done it for the good of protecting his kingdom and himself and her. Now he was spending nearly every day with her, every waking moment practically, they even slept in the same bed at this point and each night was more passion-filled than the last.

Just what was happening to him?

Was he becoming too distracted? Had saving her and moving to her to the interior of his keep to serve him alone been a bad idea? He did not know, the answers escaped him and he came back to the same conclusion that he always did.

He was doing this because she was his mate.

"Too slow." He states as he kicks her leg out from under her and catches her right before she could fall onto her face.

She glares at him with a heavy blush on her cheeks and gets back to her feet.

Her small ponytail bounces as she dives in again, this time rolling under one of his swings and aiming a stab directly at his stomach but he merely sidesteps her and launches his sword so that the edge of it was inches from her face.

She laid there helpless, and as furious as ever.

Back on her feet she appeared again and this time she tries to simply pummel him into submission, he blocks all of her strikes with one hand, looking bored as he did so. She feels the welts start to swell in her fingers and drops the sword, falling into him in a show of exhaustion.

She rests her head against his chest, his powerful green chest that tensed up upon her contact. She could feel how tight the muscles were, how solid they were. She looks up at him and her cheeks heat up, he leans in and gives her a kiss.

  And she accepts.

Moments later they found themselves in his room. He practically kicked the door open and tossed her onto the bed before stripping her of her uniform and tossing it aside. Her bountiful breasts, her soaking wet womanhood, those eager green eyes that looked up at him. He couldn't resist and she couldn't wait for him to do what he did best to her.

"Fuck me, please just fuck me." She whimpers as he gets on top and kisses her neck, eliciting a gasp. He begins to peck downwards towards her chest and runs the tip of his tongue in circles around her nipple, causing her to moan loudly in a show of incredible pleasure.

She could barely stand it, what he was able to do to her was otherworldly.

She feels her thighs spread as he presses his lips against her wet cunt and begins to lick, his tongue lashes against the lips of her pussy and she could feel herself spreading open for him. The tip of his tongue sinks into her and massages her walls, she moans wildly in response to him and only when he pulls away from her does the moaning stop.

She had never had a man treat her like a woman before, she had always been held up to the standards of a soldier, of being a woman in a man's world and being seen as a man.

She had longed to be looked at this way.

She had longed to be dominated and fucked and pleasured in every sense of the word.

She could feel his fingers slip into her, they spread her open and dashed along her walls. She shuts her eyes and arches her back as she thrashes about, his fingers curved upwards to target that swelling spot inside of her and once they do she nearly screams and a wave of her juices splashes out of her womanhood and onto his fingers. He stares at her as she does so and she begins to get a bit self-conscious, she covers her face with her hands and attempts to stop him.

"Don't look at me!" she nearly shouted. She had always thought of herself as unpleasant to look at and this was only exacerbating that problem.

"No." was all that he muttered as he peeled the hand away from her face and watched her, her cheeks were entirely pink and she was panting.

He slips his fingers out of her and licks the mess that had collected on his hand. He glances her over and grins and she can only blush in reaction to him as she watches his tongue run along his fingers and collect her juices and she gasps in arousal as he grabs her and pins her arms down on the bed before forcing his way inside of her. She howls in pleasure and wrapped her fingers around his as she felt him pound her. His massive cock throbs and spreads her out, his tip was slick with his lust and the ridges on the side of his manhood only increased the amount of pleasure that she had felt. She had to admit, Rialan biology had its benefits.

She begins to wrap her legs around his waist, his green skin begins to flush a deeper shade of green as he slips deeper and deeper. He growls into her ear as she nuzzles his neck and brushes her lips against his earlobe. Her whimpers drive him to go faster and harder and she runs her hands along his back with anticipation as he begins to ready himself to do just that.

"Please." She begged him, he had rarely seen that look in her eye, a gaze of vulnerability that he had rarely see from her but one that he welcomed nonetheless.

He growls in delight, "Of course my mate."

He didn't care about any of the repercussions anymore, he didn't care about his brother finding out or any of the traditions. He thought of none of it and merely dedicated himself to the ideal of her body, this place, and what they were doing to one another. The lust that was consuming them entirely and connecting them at the moment. It was palpable, they had sex before but now there was something else.

  There was love.

She gasps as he reaches down and rubs her clit with his thumb, his lips wrapped around her's as her moans became muffled before he reaches down and grabbed her breasts instead, massaging them and flicking her nipples back and forth. She whimpers and bites her lip as he does so, her hands cinch around his powerful shoulders as he lifts her up, allowing her to sit with his massive manhood within her. Her arms cinch around his neck and she pulls him in for a kiss.

"I love you." The words come naturally to her and he blinks for a second, unsure of what he had just heard from her.

  That is until he responds.

"And I love you my mate." He states before she screams and begins to clench around him.

Her black hair whips around his cheeks as she draws him in, hoping to eke out every last droplet of seed within him as he began to gush inside of her. She screams as she feels the first ropes scatter across her walls. Her juices begin to gush down his member and her walls clenched him as he nearly roared. The bases of his horns rubbed her forehead and she feels the last of her energy leave her as her legs give out and she lays back. His ample cock slips out of her as she pants and looks up at him, his eyes gazing over her body and admiring her very essence.

  CHAPTER FIFTEEN

The following moments took a while to get used to for both of them.

She was unsure of how she should even respond to him. She had never been this open with anyone else, never before had she felt it necessary to confide within someone as she had with him. She had felt it when they had met but never before had she chalked it up to some strange bond that she hadn't even known existed
.

But here she was, laying in his bed right beside him.

Her hands rested on his chest, she felt every breath of his echo through her, it reverberates through her hands and into her chest, she begins to breath in sync with him, her eyes shutting while she allows herself to be lulled into a sense of ease with him.

She never imagined herself connecting with a man. Every single time before this she had been talked down to as, being to uncouth, not having the right figure.

Turns out, she was just looking for the wrong kind of man the entire time.

And she was in love with him.

In the span of a month she had fallen in love with someone that she would have considered her sworn enemy before. If she went back in time and told her old-self this then she probably would have been smacked and called a heretic. She would have been driven out of her hometown.

All of that...and it had been reversed now.

He stares at her, swallowing his fears and uncertainties as he pulls her in for another kiss that she happily accepts. She runs her hands across his arms and his chest, his body shivers in reaction to her touch as her tongue lashes against his and she lets out a low moan in reaction to him. He was doing everything right, he knew exactly what to do to get her to moan, to get her to whimper for him. He knew how to trigger that sort of reaction in her every single time without fail.

Now all he had to worry about was how he was going to contend with his brother. He tries to search his mind for an answer but there is nothing, nothing that he could come up with.

It would have to come down to a conflict. But he was willing to risk that if it meant that he could have her.

But knowing his brother there would likely be a more discreet method of handling these affairs. Gulvan would use the media and rile up his entire populace into a frenzy first and then attack. If there was one thing that his brother was, it was a master of controlling the narrative. And this was one of those cases when it could come in handy. Hell, even on his side of Limura the people were unsure if they could trust the humans after all those years of war.

The fear was ripe and ready for the taking.

"What are you thinking about?" she asked him after he remained silent for quite a while, there was a worried look in her eye and her hands came up to run along his cheek, her fingers pressed into his chin and he shakes his head.

  "It's nothing."

It was one of the best nights of sleep either of them had ever had. She had never felt more comfortable, more safe, than when she was in his arms. He had never felt as powerful as the moment that she had allowed him to hold her, to pull her close and take in that scent that he adored so much. He prayed to the stars that this would last forever, that she would remain his forever and that nothing would be able to change that.

But even he knew that there was a darkness that was approaching, he could only hope that he would be ready for it.

She wakes in the morning to find him sitting up with a tray in his hands. She looked at the food and raised an eyebrow and he lets a soft chuckle escape his lips. She finds herself blushing at his actions as he sets the tray down on a nearby table and she gazes over at it, licking her lips in anticipation for whatever he had brought.

A traditional Merim-style meal, just as she liked it, he even brought the pickled vegetables that she adored so much, they shone that bright golden shade that she had come to associate with home, the sun dances over the dish and she immediately gets to her feet to enjoy it.

  "You're not going to eat?"

He laughs, "Of course I have my own, it's right in front of you."

She huffed, "Well it looked like it was all for me."

"I only did that to get a reaction out of you."

  "Hey!"

The two end up settling down for breakfast, Koigo had to admit that he hadn't eaten a lot of human food. He had mostly stuck to the basics and even then he wasn't the most culinary-minded person but even he could acknowledge that this was good. She was picking at that golden pickle bowl incessantly and mixing it in with the strange clear grains, however.

"Good?" he asks her and she nods vigorously.

  "Absolutely."

"I hope it is, it's the first of today's gifts." He states.

"What do you mean?" she asked in confusion.

He smiles, "You're not working today, it's a day off. For both of us."

She didn't know if she wanted to jump for joy or chide him. She knew that he had important duties to attend to and that he couldn't slack off but another part of her told herself to just take the win and relax. After all it has been quite some time since she had some R&R to herself. She savors the last bite of her breakfast and nods reluctantly in agreement as he nods to himself and stands.

"Any place In particular you want to go?" she asks him and he nods with a wide grin.

  "Of course."

Moments later they were making their way through the massive fields on a path headed directly towards the mountains. There was the occasional tree here and there but other than that there wasn't much to see. The land was warm and dry, it was one of the trademarks of Limura. In fact, it made her feel a bit nostalgic for the Merim since they had comparable climates.

They had taken a craft to the base of the mountains and were now on a path alongside its base. They were headed upwards but not directly into an ascent, he had informed her that the location was located more towards the center. She understood but even with whatever mental fortitude she had, she had to admit that it was getting cold and that her feet were starting to hurt after some distance in. He looked no worse for wear and she hoped that this place that he was talking about was every bit as good as she had been led to believe.

"How much further?" she called out to him and he only grinned.

  "A bit."

She groaned, by her count they must have walked about 3 miles already and her feet were starting to hurt due to the hard material of the sandals that she wore.

Her fingers trace the rocks that began to appear, the path that they were on was directed straight into what seemed to be the mountain range, albeit a small gorge within it. She wondered if this path had been built by him for entertainment or whether it had served another purpose in a distant time at one point.

He had his guard tailing them, the same guard that she had been at odds with when she had first been imprisoned. She said nothing to him and he said nothing to her but she hoped that there would be no lingering animosity, that would only serve to bring more awkwardness to the situation at hand. If there was tension then the king certainly didn't notice judging by the way that he was happily trotting forward.

Yaki begins to walk a bit faster so that he could have a word with Koigo. The young guard had known that the girl had been growing closer to Koigo but now...he could sense that there was something different about the two of them. The girl had been working as a maid but suddenly the king was taking her to one of the most secretive locations in the kingdom? His springs?

  Was...was she really his mate?

"My lord." He attempts to whisper into the ear of Koigo who merely shakes his head at him, all while wearing a wide grin.

  "Not know Yaki, later."

  "But my lord."

The king's look hardens into that familiar stern glance that Yaki had grown used to when the king was absolutely dedicated to something, "Later."

Yaki hangs his head and nods. He steps back and gives the king a look as if to tell him that "this was not over." Saradi continues forward, passing Yaki and looking back at him with a confused look as he turns away from her.

"Here we are." The king states, the path up the small mound was quite something but they had been able to make it up the path.

Yaki informs the king that he would be waiting some ways away in order to wait for the pair to finish whatever they were going to do. Koigo made a mental note to speak to his old friend once all this was done. The guard looked as if he was going to have a heart attack over this entire issue with Saradi.
Koigo had an inkling of a feeling that his guard was concerned primarily due to a security risk but the guard was dedicated to tradition as well, there were many aspects but Koigo knew that he would not betray his king.

"Holy shit." She muttered as they surmounted the small slope that they were on, suddenly a large amount of mist began to whip at them, striking their clothes as they gazed at the massive pool in awe.

By Saradi's estimate, the pool was likely the size of Koigo' quarters, which was not in any way an insult to its size.

Koigo wastes no time in stripping off the robe that he was in and diving into the water. The water itself was heated due to the geothermal action that was along the riverside. But it wasn't to the point of being extremely hot, it was more on the warm side to her. She was afraid to dive in until she saw that Koigo had emerged from the surface of the water relatively unscathed.

"Come on!" he calls to her and she nods as she leans forward and begins to sprint towards the side of the pool before hopping in.

She laughs as he grabs her and pulls her up, her strands of black hair strikes her cheeks as she playfully slapped his shoulders. He lifts her up and tosses her into the sky, she falls back down into the pool and growls in slight irritation as well as amusement.

"Do. Not. Toss. Me. Again." She muttered.

"Is that a dare?" he asks her.

  She scowls, "Damnit n-"

And then she found herself in the air once again.

After that toss he had finally relented after she had glared at him and gave him an earful. The scenery around them itself was beautiful, there were bits of ice that clasped onto the edges of the gorge that they were in. The ice shone a light blue as the daylight skirts over the edges of it, the fall itself was a solid, bright white which provided a wonderful contrast with the black rocks around them. In the light his green skin look like it glowed, she took note of it...and the way that the water was dripping off of his body.
