The Third Strike: Rogues of Everly Prep Book Three

I watched her eyes drop from my face to my lap, where Mason’s hand still cupped the top of my thigh, his fingers curled toward the inside in a very intimate gesture.
“You’re going to regret this Trailer Park,” she growled. “I’m going to destroy you.”
“Really?” I asked, vaguely aware that the entire dining hall had fallen silent. I could feel eyes burning into me from all sides, yet I continued on. “What could a good girl like you possible do to hurt me?”
“I…uh…what?”
I’d thrown her off with that remark, my emphasis on the “good girl” part obviously confusing her. I leaned forward, lowering my voice so only those at the table and the Roguettes could hear me.
“Thanks for all the surveillance equipment you left at my house. It really came in handy.”
Her face contorted with confusion as she tried to work out what, exactly, I was trying to say.
“We turned the tables on my parents, planting the cameras in their house to spy on them. The footage was…enlightening,” Mason said, filling the silence.
“Wh-what?” Charlotte stuttered, the color leeching from her face.
“We never knew you were such a good girl, Charlotte,” Stella called out with a snarl.
Her voice echoed through the dining hall, setting off a round of excited chatter. The students of Everly Prep were hungry for gossip, and I was sure that trying to figure out what Stella meant by that comment would entertain them for days.
“That’s right Charlotte,” I said in a much lower tone. “It’s over. Mason and Stella are free, as are the rest of us. And if you don’t want the footage of that delightful little display of subservience leaked out for the world to see, I suggest you turn your flat ass around and get the fuck out of my face. For good.”
I would never forget the fear that spiked in Charlotte’s eyes just before she whirled and ran from the room. She knew what I had, and what it meant.
I’d won.
After everything she’d done to belittle, humiliate, and isolate me, I finally, truly had the upper hand. The game was over. She’d struck out at the plate, and it was time to leave the field. My team had won.
And it felt damned good.
I looked over at Mason, saying, “Now, where were we?”
He leaned closer, his tongue darting out to wet his lips as he replied, “I told you I loved you.”
His smile shined in his eyes as he waited for me to respond. I returned it with a grin of my own, then leaned forward so I could whisper for his ears alone.
“I love you more than my stock portfolio.”
Mason laughed, throwing his head back and drawing every eye in the room. I couldn’t help but chuckle at the shocked expressions. They’d better get used to it. My Rogue was done being broody and angry all the time. We all were.
Nothing but blissful happiness from here on out. For all of us.
Thank you so much for reading Rogues of Everly Prep! I hope you loved the series! If you have the time, I’d really appreciate a review for The Third Strike on Amazon. Lack of reviews can really hurt an Indie author like me, so even a few words would be super helpful! And if you use GoodReads, The Third Strike is here.
