The hunger in her eyes told me she wanted this just as bad as I did.

As I reached Ally, her scent engulfed me and I fell even further for her.

Pulling her to me, my body skimmed her wet skin. Her head fell back as my lips found her neck, kissing my way down to those breasts that were now strained against my shirt.

I needed her. I wanted her. And I was going to make her mine now.

Lifting her up, Ally wrapped her legs around my waist and I moved her toward the bed. Then I turned, and she looked at me with wide eyes.

“I am not going to fuck you in the guest room. You will be in my bed,” I growled out.

She crashed her lips to my mouth as we fell onto my bed. Her hands began removing my shirt as I kissed every inch of her sweet body. She tasted like heaven and I swore I couldn’t get enough of her.

My shirt was discarded somewhere in the room and I felt her undoing my jeans. I helped her as I slid them down, taking my boxers with them. My dick sprung to life and a naughty smile appeared as her eyes drank me in.

I rubbed my cock, showing her what I was about to give her. What would be hers now.

Biting her lip, Ally moaned and I couldn’t control myself any longer.

I reached into my nightstand for a condom and slipped it on. Then, moving over top of her, I thrust inside of her.

A tight warmth wrapped around my cock and I had to fight the urge to come right then and there. I wanted this to last, I needed to see and feel her climax for me before I unleashed into her.

Arching her back, Ally yelled out my name as I felt her clench against me. Her thighs pushed harder against me and I knew she was reaching her own climax.

Screaming my name, she came and it was a glorious sight to behold.

I leaned down, kissing her as I continued to move harder and deeper inside of her. Our bodies moved together, and nothing had ever felt as right and life-altering as that moment.

My hands cupped her breasts and I took one nipple into my mouth, sucking as I moved faster inside of her.

She screamed my name, her body bucking wildly underneath me.

I fucking loved watching her climb the bed as I drove her mad.

I thrust one last time inside of her before I allowed myself to come. I cried out her name before falling next to her on the bed.

Catching my breath, I could feel my heart beating against my chest. I wasn’t sure if it from the fantastic sex or the knowledge that I knew more than anything in this world that I loved Ally.

I just claimed her as mine and no matter, I can’t lose her.

I turned my head and spotted Ally smiling.

She looked at me and a giggle erupted from those sweet lips of hers. “That was incredible,” she sighed.

“Hell yeah, it was,” I agreed.

She rolled over and fell into my arms. It was like my body was made for her as she molded herself against me.

For the first time in my life, I felt like I could do this. Like I could love someone other than myself.

  Chapter 19

  Ally

I didn’t know what overcame me.

One minute I was studying and ready for a shower and the next, I was seducing Todd in my doorway.

I had felt Todd watching me earlier and the sexual tension was building between us. We were both under so much stress. We just needed a release and for me, I also knew I couldn’t stand another day without giving in to my desires to have Todd.

I knew he wanted me just as bad as I wanted him.

He was trying to be a gentleman and not take advantage of a young victim. However, I wanted him to take me. To devour me.

  And, he did!

I had two more days until I started back at the bar. Until then, I wanted to focus on school and spending as much time with Todd as I could.

Now, as I opened my eyes, I prepared for the awkward morning after moment. But, thankfully, it didn’t come.

  I was alone.

Glancing around, I noticed the large, king-size bed was empty, save for me.

His bathroom door was closed so I thought he might be in there. Stirring, I sat up, looking for something to put on. I didn’t want to walk back to my room naked.

Spotting Todd’s shirt on the floor, I reached down and picked it up.

Shoving the black material against my nose, I took in his rugged scent. Slipping the shirt over my body, I went to get out of bed.

“That looks better on you than it does on me,” Todd whistled from the doorway.

Startled, I stood and felt exposed. “Sorry, I didn't have anything else to put on,” I stammered.

Laughing, Todd walked into the room and I saw he was holding two steaming cups of coffee.

“Here, thought you would want this,” he offered as I took the mug.

He was being so kind and acting like we did every day. My heart soared as I realized it wasn’t going to be weird.

Todd sat on the bed next to me and turned on his large, wall mounted television. The news began to play and we drank our coffee.

Neither of us talked about what transpired between us last night and I was glad for it.

I wanted normal. I wanted us.

Later, I removed myself and showered before getting ready for the day.

Taking my hand, Todd led me out of his apartment and the day was starting out gloriously.

Eating my lunch, I was enjoying the sunshine that I could experience between classes. I had successfully managed to avoid Ryan but now as I saw him walking straight toward me, I realized there wasn’t a way to avoid him now.

I managed a smile as he walked up on me.

  “Hey, stranger,” Ryan said.

He sat down next to me where I was nestled under a large oak tree.

“Hi.” I smiled. A wave of guilt washed over me as I knew Ryan could feel the tension floating between us.

Ryan ran a hand through his hair and I saw him watching me carefully. “I may be crazy, but I feel like you are avoiding me,” he said.

I cringed. I hated to be put on the spot and I was definitely not a confrontational person, but I owed Ryan an answer.

“Ryan, I have been avoiding you. When you asked me out the other day, I was conflicted. I like you, I really do, but there is someone else who I am interested in,” I admitted.

Ryan nodded and I saw hurt flash in his eyes. I felt terrible that I had made him feel that way, but I couldn’t string him along and allow him to believe there could ever be hope for anything more than a friendship between us.

“Is it that detective?” he asked.

I didn’t miss the rise of his voice and the anger building in his tone.

“Yes, his name is Todd. I honestly don’t know what is happening between him and me, but we have chemistry,” I said.

My heart fluttered at the thought of Todd and I knew I was only fooling myself thinking it wasn’t an intense love I felt for him.

No one had ever made me feel as alive and protected as Todd did. He could do things to my body that I never knew possible.

I owed it to myself to pursue what we had.

“Do you really think that is a good idea?” Ryan asked. “I mean, he is older than you. His job is dangerous.”

Frustration bubbled inside of me and I tried to calm myself down before replying.

“Ryan, I like you and value our friendship, but you are out of line,” I snapped.

Standing, Ryan just shook his head in anger. “You are making a mistake, Ally,” he said before stomping off and leaving me sitting there in disbelief.

Had I been wrong about Ryan? I didn’t think he would be so cruel, but I guess he just proved me right; I was making the right decision by picking Todd over him.

I finished my lunch and went on with my classes. As much as I enjoyed going to class and building my education for my future as a counselor, the highlight of my day was always seeing Todd. Man, was I in trouble.

  ****

  Once classes were
over, I began moving through campus on the way to the parking lot where Todd always picked me up. I had a pep in my step as I felt myself growing with need in the anticipation of seeing him again. After last night, I couldn’t help but wonder if we would have a repeat tonight...and hopefully every night after that.

I was just about to step off the sidewalk when I heard a loud gasp and the roar of an engine speeding my way.

My life flashed before my eyes as I jumped back, just in time for the small, red car to fly past me through the parking lot. Falling onto the hard ground below, I heard people rushing toward me. Groaning, I sat up just as Todd made it to my side.

“Ally, are you hurt?” he asked, lifting me into his strong arms.

A couple of witnesses began asking me if I was okay and someone began to call 911. Todd stopped them.

“I’m an officer. Does anyone know who was driving that vehicle?” Todd asked, in full detective mode.

Everyone around us shook their heads no.

My arms wrapped around Todd’s neck as he held me like I weighed nothing more than a feather.

  “I’m fine,” I said.

“You could have been hurt or killed,” he growled out. “I will call the station and have them request the surveillance camera footage. I will find out who did this,” he said, venom lacing his words.

His body was tense as he held me. He carried me to his truck and placed me safely inside.

My hands were a little scraped up, but other than that, I was physically fine. Mentally, I was terrified.

Once he got in the car, Todd turned to me and I saw worry lacing his features. “I don’t understand what just happened,” he said, shaking his head.

Blowing a loose strand of hair out of my face, I tried to laugh to lighten the mood. “Apparently, I am a magnet for danger,” I mused.

Todd frowned as he stared at me. “Ally, don’t make jokes right now. This is serious,” he scorned.

Sighing, I rolled my eyes. “Of course, this is serious. My life has been threatened twice now. I have no idea who that was. Maybe it was just some idiot who drives too fast.” I considered.

We were on campus and a lot of guys did like to speed to show off. I knew Todd was on edge with the case, maybe he was blowing this way out of proportion.

“No, I need to find out what is going on. Did you upset anyone today?” he asked me.

He was in full detective mode and I knew there was no stopping him now. Thinking back, I realized the only conversation I had was with Ryan. While he seemed upset, he wasn’t a violent guy.

“Well, I did tell Ryan today that I couldn’t go out with him. He didn’t take the news well, but he’s not a bad guy,” I defended, unsure why.

“That little shit!” Todd yelled. “I will kill him.”

Grabbing his arm, I forced Todd to calm down and look at me. “Stop it! You will do nothing to Ryan. He was just mad because I told him you were who I wanted, not him. This was all just some crazy accident,” I cried out.

Todd’s eyes grew wide and his lips pursed. “You told him that you wanted me?” he asked, unsure if he had heard me correctly.

“Yes, you know that I am crazy about you. After last night, I think we both deserve to see what this is between us,” I admitted.

My bold confidence was surprising the both of us, but I had to speak the truth. My heart yearned for Todd and there was no more fighting it anymore.

Todd lifted my hand, kissing my knuckles with his sweet lips. Smiling, he started the car and didn’t say another word. While I would have liked for him to be more vocal and tell me that he was just as crazy about me as I was him, I knew that wasn’t his style.

Growing serious, Todd began to speak, but he never turned his face away from me.

“You are golden. Like the finest diamonds the world has to offer,” he said.

While his words were super cheesy, I appreciated the fact that he was willing to see where this could go.

Holding my hand the entire ride home was Todd’s way of showing he cared. That he wanted me.

I would take what I could get and be happy.

  Chapter 20

  Todd

Things with Ally had taken a surprising turn. After she had dropped her towel the other night, I hadn’t been able to keep my hands, or lips off of her succulent body.

  I craved her.

  I desired her.

I needed her more than I needed air to breathe.

I wasn’t a man of many words, but my actions spoke volumes.

Ally and I both knew that I would move mountains for her and that there was nothing that was going to keep me from being with her now.

Throwing caution to the wind, I realized this was it. Love. Trust. Commitment.

At one point, I thought those ideas were absolutely absurd. Now, it was all I wanted.

Now, I was adding more pressure on my team and asked Jamie to look into this Ryan guy who Ally knew. I didn’t trust him. He had gotten too close to Ally and I wasn’t going to accept the fact that her almost getting run over was an accident. Too much was at stake here and I was seeing lines being drawn, connecting events in my mind. Only, I had no idea what any of it meant.

I had run into a buddy of mine, Grant, an officer with the Sunnyville Police Department. He and a few other officers had jumped on our case and were really helping us out. I had Grant looking into Ryan while I spent my days at the station interrogating our perps and waiting for the CSI results back from the trucks.

Ally started back at work tonight and I was nervous. I would be there sitting at the bar, watching everyone that entered. I knew she would be pissed at me, but I didn’t care. Her safety meant more to me than anything.

  ****

That evening, I watched Ally get ready for her first shift back at the bar since the shooting. While she put on a brave face to appease me, I could tell that she was nervous.

“Everything will be alright,” I assured her as I watched her fix her hair for the third time in a row. Each time, she did the same thing, pulling it up in a high ponytail.

  “I’m fine,” she said.

Both of us knew she was anything but fine. Ally was stubborn, but I could see through her facade.

Walking over to where she stood in the front of the bathroom vanity, I placed my hands on her thin waist and reveled in her curves. I wrapped her in my arms and took in her sweet scent.

Sighing, she allowed herself to fall into my hold.

“It’s okay to be afraid. A lot has happened, but I will be there,” I stated firmly.

Our eyes met in the mirror and a glint of a smile crossed her lips.

She turned in my arms and wrapped her arms around my neck.

This was it. This was what happiness felt like.

Her lips rested against mine in a sweet and tender kiss. We embraced each other for a moment, before I slapped my hand on her firm ass. She let out a little giggle as she pulled away from me.

“Come on, we need to get you to work,” I said, winking as I left the bathroom.

I heard Ally mutter a string of curse words in my aftermath, but I could hear the smile in her voice. That was my girl.

Loud music blasted all around me as I sipped a cold beer. This wasn’t my typical scene. Usually, when I wanted a drink, I went with the guys on the force to one of our regular places. But tonight, this wasn’t about me. Like the last time I had been here, it had all been about Ally. But, it was different back then.

She looked sexy as hell as she strutted past me, carrying two fruity looking drinks. She set them down on a table where two very drunk college girls were giggling and talking. As she bent over, her short, black skirt rode up her milky thighs and I got a glimpse of her ass. Fuck, I had to look away or I would be sitting here sporting a massive hard-on.

I knew she was teasing me, it was like a game to her. Little did she know, I always played to win. I would make her pay for that tonight, in my bed...with cuffs if she wanted.

  Shaking my head
, I chuckled to myself. I needed to keep my eyes on the surroundings, not Ally’s body. Even though I wasn’t necessarily working, I never stopped trying to protect Ally.

And tonight was making it difficult. Not just because she was dressed like a little vixen, but because of the massive crowd that floated in and out of the bar. Now that it was back open, all the college students were back.

It was hard to keep eyes on Ally and watch every guy that entered the bar. Once her shift ended, I was beyond relieved.

She had earned a nice amount of tips and nothing out of the ordinary happened.

When we got back to my apartment, I was tired of keeping my hands to myself. I had been touching and holding Ally the entire elevator ride up. Now that we were alone, I was going to have my way with her.

Picking her up, she laughed as her head fell back, allowing those golden tendrils to dance like rays of sunshine. I dropped her onto the couch, not able to wait until we reached my bedroom. She smiled up at me as she lay back, anticipating my next move. Hunger came over me and I climbed on top of her, lifting her shirt to expose that tight stomach.

My tongue licked down her stomach as my hands roamed every inch of her silky body. Her breathing hitched as she ached for more of my touch. Our eyes locked and a slight moan escaped her lips as my hands began traveling between her legs.

“Fuck,” I growled at her wetness.

“What are you doing to me?” Ally moaned in pleasure.

“I’m going to eat you like the treat you are,” I said as I began to trace her breasts with my tongue, teasing her with slow movements.

She was needy as her body began to beg for me to just go ahead and take her. The want and need becoming more than we could both handle.

Ally gasped as I took one finger and then another and began to rub the outside of her clit. She was dripping wet for me.

Placing my hands under her ass, I lifted her so that she was ready for me. Then, I began licking and devouring that sweet pussy.

Ally screamed and bucked her hips, but I held on tight. She tasted sweet and salty and I couldn’t get enough of her.
