He smiled, struggling to remove his suit jacket. Everything about him screamed of possession. “This is all I have. Let’s see if we can get you warm. Now, where can I take you? Home? You must live around here.”

I shook my head, biting my lip to keep from spilling details about my wretched life.

“Hmmm... All right. What happened then? Can you at least tell me that? Were you in a car wreck?”

My entire body trembled as I attempted to wrap my frozen fingers around the material. I pulled the coat over my shoulders, thinking of what I could say. A moment of raw courage replaced the terrified girl living inside of me. “I don’t want to go home. Please. Not yet.”

He hesitated and I could swear there was a twinkle in his eyes.

“Protection. That’s exactly what you need.” His whisper was laced with a husky blanket of velveteen.

“I...” He had no idea how much I wished I could have exactly that, someone to care and protect me against all evils of the world.

He exhaled and the trickling sensations as his hot breath cascaded across my naked skin created the most intense arousal, my nipples so hard and aching. My pussy was wet, and I knew my reaction was a shameful, terrible thing.

Or so I’d been told over and over again.

But I didn’t want to feel the shame, the utter humiliation of being a very bad girl. In truth, I felt so very much alive, invigorated by his presence alone.

He peered at me with those black eyes, drinking me in, studying every inch of my face until finally his gaze traveled downward. A smile curled on his lips, beautiful and inviting.

  I want you.

  I crave you.

  You will belong to me.

Had he said the words, or was this all just a fantasy? The same fantasy I’d had for months.

Suddenly, I was so warm, embers ignited from deep within. I couldn’t take my eyes off him as he closed the driver’s door, but I’d seen the look of hunger crossing his face. He wanted nothing more than to devour me.

Ravage every inch of my body.

“The hospital?” he asked. “You could have injuries.”

I shook my head, my teeth chattering. “I’m fine. Just take me somewhere. Okay? Just for a little while.” Protection. I couldn’t get the word out of my mind.

He hesitated and glanced out the windshield, never blinking but I could see the strange smile crossing his face.

“Then I know exactly where to take you and what I need to do. Just as I hoped. This is perfect.” He ever so slowly turned his head in my direction as he slipped the gear into drive. Leaning over, he whispered, “And Sadie, you now belong to me.”

  * * *

Wake up, Sadie. Your new life is just beginning...

The words were like a velvet blanket sliding across my naked skin. “Mmm...” My eyelids were heavy. Why couldn’t I open them? I tried again, wincing as I blinked several times. Everything was a blur in my mind.

  My beautiful Sadie.

After a few seconds, I willed my eyes to open, struggling to make sense of what I was seeing. Blackness. Odd shadows. Angry splashes of minimal light. Wait. This couldn’t be real. I had to be dreaming. I blinked again, trying to focus on anything.

  “Hello?”

The question echoed in whatever room I was in, still filling my mind with raw terror.

  Something wasn’t right.

I was so cold and could see nothing around me, but in my mind, I crafted monstrous images, horrible demons waiting to drag me straight to hell. This had to be a dream. Think. Breathe. You fell and hit your head.

Images flashed in the back of my brain, a single whispered word remaining.

  Evil...

“Is anyone there?” Fear trickled through my veins and I forced myself to take a deep breath. I blinked several times, trying to get my bearings. Trying to remember. Where the hell was I?

Every muscle in my body ached. The room was pitch black with the exception of a single flickering candle that seemed so very far away, yet the ominous shadows remained. This had to be hell. Then I remembered. The church. The exorcism. Running away out of intense fear.

  My father had found me.

Oh, God. Oh, God. This couldn’t be happening to me.

“No!” I screamed, trying desperately to get my arms and legs to move. I heard the sound of metal hitting metal. Then I realized I was shackled, unable to move at all. Gasping for air, I twisted my head back and forth. “Where are you? Let me go!”

You need to rest, my Sadie. I’m here to protect you and I will return. Then... We will begin.

Begin? What the hell was he talking about? My God. Was I imagining the words? They seemed to echo all around me, yet also coming from deep within my own mind. This was insane.

“Who are you? What do you want from me? Please let me go. Please!” Breathe and think. You’re going to be all right.

My instincts told me otherwise. I’d just entered another world, a realm where I had no control.

There were no footsteps and no sounds of a door opening or closing, but I knew he was gone.

  My savior.

  My hero.

  My protector.

  My captor.

I opened my mouth to scream, the sound bedraggled. There was nothing but silence.

  Chapter Two

  Sadie

Beautiful Sadie, you’ve always belonged to me.

“Uuuhhh...” The harsh breath escaped my mouth as the words settled in. Taking gulping breaths, I jerked up, arching my back. Oh, God. Oh, God. The same darkness. Very slowly, I scanned the room, trying to move as little as possible.

  I remembered.

  His voice.

  His hands.

  His face.

  His eyes.

  His desire.

I stared up at the ceiling, blinking several times and waiting until I was able to focus. A moan slipped past my lips. The room was so cold, the frigid air keeping my muscles cramped. Shifting, I realized my hands were no longer shackled. Using every ounce of energy I had left, I jerked forward then tumbled off the bed, my bare feet hitting the hard concrete floor. Within seconds, I was pitched to the floor, pain exploding into every inch of my body.

“No. No!” I attempted to crawl a few inches, clawing my way forward until I heard the clanging sound from before. A metal chain. Whimpering, I twisted until I could just make out the thick band surrounding one ankle, the other end wrapped around the base of the iron structure. The bedlike platform was covered with a mattress but nothing else. How long had I been asleep?

I was still exhausted and thirsty, my throat tight, the terror almost paralyzing.

I had to think. I had to figure this out. Why would a man I’d never met do something like this when he’d seemed like my savior? His words remained burning in my mind. I didn’t belong to him. I wouldn’t give into him. What could he want? My family had no money. They wouldn’t be able to provide a ransom.

  Nor would they care.

I was the devil reincarnated after all.

Protection. Yes, I did need protection but from... Monsters. All the monsters.

What the hell was I wearing? I fingered the thin material, sickened at the realization he’d removed my clothing, replacing my dress with little more than a slip of a gown.

  White in color.

  Pure white.

  As if I was innocent.

A queen. His bride. His breeder.

Jesus. Was I buying the bullshit of my father?

A bitter laugh slipped past my lips, the ugly sound haunted. I fought the tears as they threatened to bubble up, trying desperately to think rationally. Where could I be? The air seemed dense and damp, like a basement of some kind. There were plenty of older houses that had basements in the area, some that were even abandoned. Inching backward, I held my arms, grateful for the simple attire. I was determined to observe everything around me because I was going to survive and the asshole who abducted me was going to fry in hell.

  The thought
made me laugh even as tears fell. I dropped my head into my hands until I heard the sharp shifting sound of a door being opened, the single creak filling me with apprehension. I held my arms, refusing to cry out, refusing to show the monster any fear, wincing as his silhouette remained in the doorway. I cradled my legs, rocking back and forth, pretending that there was no such thing as a boogeyman.

Heavy footsteps approached ever so slowly, the bastard taking his time, no doubt excited by the sight of my horror. Then his face was revealed in all its glory, the glowing light far too dim to be presenting him in such an illuminated fashion. I had to be seeing things.

But there he was, so dark and dangerous yet sensual in his monstrous appearance. The gravity of his hard stare was mesmerizing, almost intoxicating. The same wretched desire uncoiled, the wave of heat between my legs startling. In his hands was a bottle of water and a plate of what had to be food. I gathered a scent of fresh bread, the aroma making my stomach growl immediately. I had no idea how long it had been since I’d eaten.

“You’re awake and I’m certain you’re thirsty and hungry.” Very slowly he eased the items onto the simple table before approaching, standing over me with his arms behind his back. “I’m going to release you, my lovely one and you’re going to be a very good girl or there will be consequences. Do you understand me?”

I didn’t want to answer, but the continued scent of the bread filled my nostrils, much like the exotic fragrance surrounding the man. I nodded once, my lip quivering. Everything about this was wrong. Please, someone help me! I knew better than to cry out. There was no one coming for me.

He sighed then crouched down, gripping my jaw. “When I ask you a question, Sadie, you are going to answer me. I’ll ask you one more time. Do. You. Understand?”

The firmness of his hand was revolting yet comforting at the same time. Even his scent, rich in testosterone and mouthwatering spices was intoxicating. I had difficulty breathing, thinking clearly in any manner. He was far too mesmerizing, drawing me into his spell.

“Yes,” I managed, gritting my teeth. He obviously didn’t approve of my answer, his black eyes shimmering with a level of evil I’d never seen in anyone. They were soulless, empty pools. “Yes, sir. Okay? What do you want me to say? You bastard!”

A slight growl came from deep within him, the sound more ominous than anything else. He leaned closer, inhaling and holding his breath. As he crouched even closer, until our lips almost touched, I was able to hold my own. I wasn’t going to back down from the bastard.

I could feel the heat pulsing from his body, electricity soaring into mine. As he exhaled, he rubbed his thumb across my lips roughly. “That will do for now, but soon you’ll be begging me for more. I can smell your scent of desire. I can read your lurid thoughts. And don’t worry, there’s no need to be ashamed. What we’re going to share is very special. Unearthly levels of passion.”

Special? He was crazy. How could he think I’d ever want him?

There was no key produced, no wrangling with the chain keeping me in place. I was simply free, unbolted from the bed as if by magic. The same savage stare prevailed, washing over me like the softest blanket.

He dragged the tips of his fingers down the length of my neck, twisting his head as if memorizing every detail of my face. The searing edge of utter insanity remained, furrowing into the darkest depths of my body. When he stood, his massive frame looming over me, his expression was laced with carnal longing.

Dressed entirely in black, his physique was well suited to the crisp linen pants and silk shirt that accentuated every spectacular muscle that seemed carved out of stone. He reeked of superiority, commanding and powerful, more beast than man.

Look away. Look away. I fought the hard gaze, taking several shallow breaths.

He took decided steps toward the table, using his index finger to point at the feast he’d offered. “Eat then we begin.”

Begin what? Why? What did he think he was going to do to me? I wanted to scream out the questions, cursing at him, fighting in every manner, but I was so weak.

I struggled to stand, my legs and feet numb. As I dared to glance at the table, I was shocked to see the amount of food: luscious fruits of all colors, hunks of cheese, and several kinds of bread heaped in the center of the table. There were various meats and jellies, even chocolate, everything succulent and amazing. Copious amounts. Luscious food. I could almost taste the delicate flavors, the aroma creating a rumble in my stomach. I’d never seen so much food, the slightest vibrations sending cherries and grapes spiraling off the edge of the table. “How did you...” He’d only carried a small platter of food into the room. I glanced at the open door, half expecting to see an army of peasants waiting in the wings, but there was nothing but emptiness.

“I see that you are hungry, my precious one,” he said, laughing the same deep baritone of soft velvet that I’d heard in the beginning, the man I thought my hero.

The man I now knew as a monster.

I remained confused, my head pounding. Why would he feed me a meal meant for a queen? Another growl from my stomach reminded me just how long it had been since I’d eaten anything. I lost my resolve, the food far too tempting.

Still, I shuffled forward, darting my eyes across the ripe strawberries and piles of blueberries, my gaze falling to the platter of turkey and ham. My God, I was considering taking food from a monster. I reached out then yanked my hand away, curling my fingers.

“You can go on. I assure you that the food isn’t poisoned.” He took a step away, beckoning only with his eyes.

My body required nourishment to fight, to find a way to get the hell out of this prison. I nibbled on my lower lip, doing everything I could not to look him in the eye, but I was drawn to him, my nipples completely stimulated.

Reaching out once again, I snagged a strawberry, bringing it toward my mouth and nose. I took a deep whiff. The fragrance was unlike any other strawberry, so ripe and sweet. I darted out my tongue, licking the slight hint of juice glistening over the glorious fruit. The very ambrosia of the gods. Hungrily, I bit into the soft flesh, taking my time savoring in tiny bites, shuddering as the sweetness slipped down my throat.

“Only the finest foods for my beautiful Sadie.” His deep baritone brought me back to the moment, to the realization that this wasn’t an incredible fantasy.

Why was he looking at me, staring intently? I couldn’t help myself, reaching out for a handful of blueberries, popping them into my mouth, one after the other. Suddenly, I was insatiable, my hunger exploding off the charts. I inched closer, selecting a grape then a piece of pineapple, kiwis and kumquats. Everything tasted so spectacular. The flavors were incredible, awakening new sensations on my taste buds. More. More! I had to have more.

I grabbed a piece of cheese, almost swallowing it whole. Then turkey. Ham. More strawberries. I was voracious in my actions, mewling like an animal.

He watched me with curiosity for a few minutes, his eyes mere slits.

The feasting continued, bread and cheese. Fruit. I couldn’t fill my mouth fast enough.

“I think that’s enough,” he said in a most commanding tone.

I shot him a look, one of hatred and anger, my chest heaving as I chewed forcefully and swallowed, then grabbing another handful, blackberries this time. Then I moved on, tearing off a hunk of bread, making grinding noises with my teeth as I chewed. His look of pure amusement pissed me the hell off.

“I said, that’s enough.” He snagged my wrist, using almost no strength in order to keep me from filling my mouth.

I continued to chomp down but instead of swallowing, I spit the entire wad of food into his face, laughing softly as he blinked several times. His discomfort brought me joy. The unearthly growl made me quiver once again.

“You will learn that I am your master.” His words were even more seductive in nature, sending electric pulses into my brain.

“Never. I don’t care what you do to me. You bastard! And you’re not my prot
ector.” I wasn’t brave, but if he was going to kill me then I would put up a fight.

He was nothing but a monster but as I finally dared look my abductor in the eyes, I fell into the most beautiful abyss of visions, fueling a fire burning deep within. My senses were awakened amidst the dazzling flow of dancing colors and swirling figures. They were all beckoning for me, drawing me closer. They were hungering for my sex, ready to strip me of my innocence. I could almost feel their fingertips caressing my skin, pinching my nipples, thrusting deep into my pussy.

Lips kissing me, licking and biting.

Cocks plunging into my mouth, my pussy, my asshole. The pleasure uncontrollable, taking me into an eternity of bliss, ecstasy like nothing I’d ever felt.

Suddenly, his fingers had slipped between my legs, sliding up the inside of my thigh, tickling my skin with the breath of his feathery touch. He dragged me closer as his fingers fondled the inner folds of my pussy, the tips sliding up to swirl around my clit. I was so wet, so breathless, my legs trembling.

“Pleasure, my sweet Sadie,” he whispered, his exploration continuing as his massive fingers slid between my folds, thrusting just inside. “I know you can’t understand, but you will one day. That I promise you.”

My muscles clamped around the invasion, my hips gyrating forward as I clung to him. I was foggy, my mind only able to concentrate on the extreme pleasure. A moan trickled from my mouth, echoing in my ears. I was floored at my body’s reaction, the utter betrayal. Disgusting.

  Horrifying.

My nipples scraped against the thin material of the shapeless gown, both irritating and over-sensitizing them.

He jammed his fingers deep inside, three becoming four, his thumb continuing to swirl around and around my clit. “You’re very wet, Sadie.”

I wanted to slap his face, to demand that he stop using my name. I hated him. I hated this.

  I loathed myself.

  Ecstasy.

I rocked forward until I was on my tiptoes as his fingers curled, sliding dangerously back and forth across my G-spot. “Oh. Oh. Oh.” The guttural sound was one I’d never made before.
