As full as her chest felt, as much as she couldn’t breathe in that moment, Natalie had never felt lighter. Freer. More like everything in her life was falling into place and she could reach her dreams.
She sealed her lips to his, pulling him as close as she could get him. In moments, he had her backed against the refrigerator, his hands teasing her sides as he pulled up her shirt.
When she went for his belt, he grabbed her wrists and pinned them above her head, against the cool door. “Not yet. I want to take my time with you.”
She gave him her sexiest, sauciest smile. Or hopefully it came off that way and not goofy. “Nope. We’re going in the bedroom, and I’m going to spend the next few hours making you feel better after that loss. You’re the one who had a majorly disappointing weekend.”
“You quit your dream job,” he countered. His eyes flashed with hunger waiting to be released. “You don’t deserve a little pleasure?”
“I promise, consoling you will give me lots of pleasure too.”
He watched her for a long moment, hot gaze flicking from hers to her mouth and back. His chest rose and fell in rapid breaths. Then he kissed her. Hard and fierce and possessive. Her body went liquid inside in response to him.
He ripped himself from her mouth and her arms. “How did I get so damn lucky? You’re perfect.”
She took his hand, grinning, and pulled him with her toward the bedroom. “Come on. Let me love you so thoroughly, you forget everything else in the world.”
And she did.

About the Author
LIZ LINCOLN has been concocting stories as long as she can remember, and from the beginning they involved two people falling in love. When she’s not writing, she spends her time rooting for the UW Badgers and the Green Bay Packers (or yearning for the return of football season), cross-stitching sassy sayings or nerdy characters (Wonder Woman is her favorite), and drinking too much Diet Coke. She lives in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, with her husband, two kids, two cats, and a turtle.
