Chapter One
The kitchen was warm and the smell of blueberry muffins in the oven made her stomach grumble. But what was making her furious was the man standing in front of her coffee pot. “Move, Lucas. I want my coffee now.”
“No. You’re pregnant and coffee isn’t good for the babies.” The coffee pot disappeared and she lost it.
“I swear, Lucas, if that coffee is not back in the next few seconds, you’re going to see a very pissed off witch. The doctor said two cups of coffee would not hurt the babies now that I’m like you guys.” She put her hands on her hips. “I have gone through every exam, been poked and prodded. Oh, and let’s not forget all those doctors putting their cold-ass fingers up my pussy!”
The growl was but a whisper, but Beth knew Lucas was getting angry. “Don’t remind me of that.” He shook his head and her coffee pot reappeared. It had a fresh-brewed helping of coffee in it.
She was so happy. Beth lunged at Lucas, wrapping her arms around his neck giving him a big kiss. “Thank you, thank you, and thank you.”
He laughed and squeezed her tight. “Go on, get your coffee. I’ll go see if they’ve taken the muffins out of the oven.” He swatted her ass before heading to the other part of the kitchen where half the staff was already working on tonight’s dinner.
Beth poured herself a cup of coffee and moaned as the aroma that drifted to her, ignoring his smack. Behind her, Edward laughed. “I see our pregnant momma has found her coffee.” He mumbled to her neck when he wrapped his arms around her and ran his fangs against her skin. “I thought you would still be in bed after the late night you and Claire had. Did you two have a good girls night?”
She smiled and took a sip of her coffee before answering him. “You just want to know what we did since you guys were banned from the old movie room.” Beth headed to the table and sat down. “But yes, we had a wonderful time.” Beth looked down at her cup. “I just wish she could stay longer.”
Tears filled her eyes and at once Lucas came running. “What’s wrong?” He looked from her to Edward.
“Nothing, just me getting a little hormonal here.” She reached over and grabbed one of the muffins from the bowl.
The kitchen door slammed open and Dred and Rock came running in. “What’s wrong?”
“Okay, listen up, guys! I’m pregnant. I’m going to have moments where I get upset. Things are going to set me off, so you’re going to have to stop acting like I’m dying.” She picked up her coffee and took another sip.
“Well, I was coming here to tell you that some of the women of our pack would like to talk to you,” Rock leaned down and kissed her cheek. “You can’t blame us for worrying, Beth. You’re carrying triplets and the first three months are the most important.”
“I know this, Rock. I just feel like I’m a prisoner here. I can’t go outside and the castle is so full, I can’t think. Then there’s the fact that Claire is leaving. Do you think you could try and talk them into staying?” She looked from Rock to Dred who both shook their heads.
“You know her mates need to go up North to handle the problems up there. They are the only ones we trust and we are not about to leave you. Even the Alpha for the National Pack asked them to go.” Dred knelt next to her.
“Go talk with the ladies, maybe they can keep you busy for a few hours,” Dred said.
“You told them, didn’t you? Damn it, Dred, we weren’t going to announce it till I was two months.”
She yanked her hand away from his and got up to get more coffee. “I’ll meet them in an hour in the Grand Hall.”
She poured her last cup and sighed. “Lucas, could you ask Lancelot if he could serve some of his muffins and drinks, in about an hour? I want to take a shower.”
She turned around to see all four of her men staring at her. “What?”
“Are you going to tell us about the letter you received yesterday?” Edward asked leaning back in his chair.
“How did you know?” She frowned and fidgeted. “It was nothing important.”
“You’re lying.” Lucas pushed away from the wall. “Never lie to us, Beth. I’d rather you just tell us it’s none of our business, than lie.” She heard the disappointment in his voice and her heart seemed to stutter.
“I’m sorry. You guys have so much to do and I just seem to be in the way. I didn’t want to add to your problems. The letter was from Nora.” Growls and cussing came from all of them.
“Where is the letter? You shouldn’t have even touched it. What if she had sent some kind of poison?” Edward’s eyes seemed to glow.
“Deception was there. He said it was safe and Avril opened it for me.” She held up her hand. “Yes, he insisted I show you the letter.” She pulled it out of her pocket and handed it to Edward before stepping out of the kitchen.
Not bothering to look back, Beth whispered. “She found Andy…” With that Beth left, heading to their private site. Deception walked next to her, quiet, knowing she was on the verge of breaking down again.
“You know they are going to follow as soon as they read the letter,” she muttered and looked down at Deception.
“We don’t know if your friend is dead. He could be alive,” Deception said trying to lighten her mood.
“No, not if Nora is as crazy as everyone said she is. Do you think they’ll let me go to the house? I’d like to get out of here for a few hours this afternoon.”
Nodding to the guards at the entrance to their private quarters, Beth made her way to their bedroom. She pushed open the door to see Lucas there, waiting for her. “What do you want Lucas?” Beth headed into the bathroom not surprised Lucas followed her.
“How many other letters have you gotten that we aren’t aware of?” Lucas grabbed hold of her arm and spun her around to face him. He was furious and his whole body shook.
Shrugging off his grip, Beth glared at him for a few seconds before moving back into their bedroom and going to the closet. “There’s been a letter every week for the past month. Each one I made sure Deception and Avril were with me before I touched it.” She knelt and picked up the small box. “Here.” She turned around to see him behind her. Beth thrust the box at him. “Don’t destroy my pictures.”
“Why?” One word, but it held a powerful impact on her.
“Not everything I do needs to be dissected. If the letters were a threat, I would have told you, but they weren’t.” She looked down at her box. “They’re just pictures and stories. Excuse me, but I have a group of ladies waiting for me. I know Dred asked them to see me because he was feeling sorry for me.”
She exited the closet, but looked over her shoulder. “Oh, and I’m going to the house this afternoon, so make the arrangements.”
“You’re what?” Lucas yelled and she didn’t even flinch as she slammed the door, locking it. Oh, she knew he cou
ld get in any time, but most of the time they accepted that she needed the privacy.
Dropping the robe, Beth stepped into the shower. The water was warm and eased the tension in her shoulders as she allowed the tears to fall. Ever since her wedding, each one of her men had treated her like a child. They’re sex was gentle and vanilla, one at a time. Even when she had begged, they wouldn’t hear about risking their children.
She missed Lucas’s two cocks, instead he made sure only one would penetrate her, holding himself back, not giving her his all.
It was time to pull out the big guns. If they wouldn’t stop walking around her like she was a fragile egg, Beth was just going to have to make them snap. As far as Nora was concerned, Dred had been right. She was totally losing it, but what scared her the most was the fact her old friend had met a new friend and a very powerful one, Lucas’ brother.
Automatically Beth reached down and ran her hand over the inside of her thigh where Lucas’ brother had tried to leave his mark and shivered. The thought of Lucas’ brother anywhere near her sent chills down her body. Beth plopped down in the tub, letting the water hit the top of her head while she rested it on her knees.
One thing was for sure, Nora wasn’t her friend anymore and Beth had to let go. “I’m sorry, Nora, so sorry.” She looked up at Deception and smiled.
“If I haven’t said it in a while, thank you for being with me and helping.” Beth said as he lay down next to the tub, resting his big head on his paws.
“You are welcome, but are we going to stay in here all day? It is a little stuffy with all that steam. Your men are at the door.” He rose and moved to the back of the room and as soon as he did Lucas appeared next to the tub.
* * *
“You know she’s never going to be the person you once knew. You have to let her go, Beth, or you’re going to drive yourself crazy.” He knelt down in front of the woman of his heart. Her eyes were swollen and red from crying and Lucas knew she still hung onto hope, but that hope was waning.
“She’s with my brother now Beth, and we have no idea what they are going to do. So we have a proposal for you, a sort of late honeymoon if you would like to call it that.” Lucas held out his hand. “Come let us all tell you about it.” Lucas waited.
Her big green eyes met his and Beth sighed. Beth reached up and placed her hand into his. “There is no need to go on a honeymoon. You already have me knocked up and won’t give me what I want.” She stepped out of the tub and into his arms and kissed his chest not carrying if she got him wet. “Even you have suffered. You won’t use both of those nice long cocks of yours in me.” Beth actually pouted and he laughed while he dried her.
“We make love to you every time you ask, My Heart,” Lucas opened the door, seeing Edward and the wolf brothers waiting for them.
“You know damn well that’s not the same, you hold yourself back from me. When you make love to me, it’s like I’m in the damn doctor’s office. One of them is always there making sure you don’t go too fast, use both of your cocks or get rough. I’m not a stupid porcelain doll to be played with and put on a shelf, damn it!” Her temper flared up once more.
“I’m stuck inside, my friend-sister is leaving, and my men treat me like I’m going to fucking break every time they touch me,” she said as she pushed past the four of them and made her way to the front of the room. Deception slid around their bodies to follow her. “Hell, if I knew you were going to act like this, I would have waited till this mess was all over.” She curled up onto the couch and flicked on the stereo as one of her favorite CD’s started to play.
Lucas turned the music off and took a chair across from her, watching as Edward lifted her up, placing her onto his lap. Over the last few weeks, the three other males mated with their woman were slowly bonding with him also. Already the bond with Edward and Rock was strong, but the elusive Dred kept his distance, but Lucas would soon put a stop to that.
His cocks hardened and he reached down adjusting these stupid jeans these humans wore. “Have a problem there, Lucas?” Beth snipped and Edward slapped the side of her leg.
“Enough! Do you think we like not giving you what you want? But until we get the okay from the doctors, there will only be gently loving,” Edward snapped.
“Whatever. So where are you sending me away to now?” She looked up at him. “Oh let me guess. You’ll be staying here.”
“You’re going with my mom to visit her parents. Lucas will accompany you along with Rock. Dred and I must stay behind to watch and plan the next move. As soon as we find Lucas’ brother, we can bring you back.” His last word was a mere whisper, but Beth hadn’t heard a word he’d said since Edward told her they were staying.
Her body stiffened and she was once more fighting tears. Beth slid out of his grasp and looked at him, then at Dred. “I will go nowhere without you and that is finial. You can tell your fucking bitches to take a flying hike.” She leaned down, inches away from Edward’s face. “If I see or hear another thing about you touching them, I’ll rip their fucking heads off.” Beth ran from the room. Even Rock couldn’t catch her as she shifted to the wolf and took off.
“What the hell was that about?” Edward looked to him, then to Dred.
“Some of your staff got wind we were considering sending her to your grandparents. The talk of the castle is that you and Dred are not claiming her as your wife anymore.” Lucas watched as Edward’s face turned a deep red, while the fur started to poke through the skin on Dred’s body.
“You really can’t be that upset, Edward. When was the last time you or Dred spent any time with her? For the last four days, Rock and I have been following her around and trying to ease her need.” Lucas sat up and rested his elbows on his knees and stared at the man across from him.
“You have become a great leader, Edward, and your followers look up to you, but I’m afraid as far as your wife goes, you have neglected her. I haven’t said anything till now, but it’s got to stop. Beth looks to you as her anchor, both of you. Dred, when was the last time you had her by your side for any of the pack meetings? Did you know that only your sister and a few of your cousins showed up for the girls’ night? Seems all the rest were waiting to catch a certain male’s attention now that Beth is out of the way.”
He stood and stretched. “I suggest you two find time for her and fast. Make sure the females know she is yours and you want no other. Now, if you’ll excuse me, our Little Witch is attempting to leave the castle.” He snapped and flashed to the garage area where Justine was holding a very furious Beth back away from the cars.
“Damn it, Lucas, you guys better start taking better care of her or I’ll personally take her where she wants to go,” the guard said and released Beth when he wrapped his arms around her taking her to her house.
“Shh, I’ve got you, My Heart,” he whispered into her neck as they appeared in her small house.
“Are we safe here?” She looked up into his eyes and he smiled.
“I would not bring you here if it wasn’t. Now show me your home. I’ve heard so much about it. I have to admit it feels…I don’t know how to describe it.” Lucas glanced around and she laughed.
“I know. It’s like a cool wind brushed over your skin, freeing every dirty molecule from your body. Come here.” Beth dragged him into the middle of what looked to be some sort of family room. Cool air out of nowhere rushed all around them, brushing against his skin.
“Amazing, it’s like being on a bike or a horse ride, but so much more.” Lucas laughed at his woman when she started to pull him into the kitchen and down some steps.
“This is where I feel the safest and closest to my father. They headed down a long hallway when she went into an office that was like none other. Releasing his hand, Beth approached the desk and crawled into the big chair, curling up on it and resting her head on her knees. “Edward was supposed to take this office. In a way, I’m glad he didn’t. I can still smell my father and feel his arms around me, holding me like he did
when I was scared.”
Lucas frowned. “Beth, are you scared with us?” He scooped her up into his arms and sat down in the chair with her in his lap. She curled up close to him as if seeking shelter. “I haven’t felt safe for the past few days and I can’t sleep. Lucas, can your brother hurt me in my dreams?”
He reached down and lifted her chin as Edward, Dred and Rock appeared in the room. “Beth, why would you ask this? Have you seen him in your dreams?”
“I’ve seen Nora and where she is, your brother is close.” She looked down and once more tried to get closer to him. “I can feel him. He’s watching me, Lucas. When he took my blood, he can see me, but when I’m with one of you, when you’re inside of me, I can’t feel him anymore. I wasn’t just asking for sex Lucas, I need…I don’t know how to explain it.”
Edward knelt down next to them. “Can you show us what you’re talking about? It would mean opening up to us, Little Witch, and I know you are angry at us, but how can we help, if we don’t understand.”
She moved her hand. “Go over there, away from me,” Beth said and crawled out of Lucas’ lap, moving away from all of them to the point of almost stepping into the hallway. She shivered and wrapped her arms around herself when the connection to her opened wide up.
What Lucas felt had him standing. Furious, his brother has been watching them all since he had found her.
“Did you really think that little spell would stop me, Big Brother? Soon I’ll have her under me, fucking her like a real man. Since she’s craving multiple men, maybe I’ll even share her with Marder. You do remember him, don’t you?” His laughed filled the room and Beth would have fallen if Dred hadn’t been creeping closer to her and caught her.
Chapter Two
Beth knew Edward was now holding her and that she had passed out. But going off the deep end was not going to help her or her family. It was time for her to grow up. Beth was going to be a mother soon and it was time to start acting like an adult. She sat up slowly and stretched. “You should be at the castle, not here, Edward. I’ll be fine. Now, if you’ll excuse me, I have some work to do in Dad’s office.” She pulled her legs off of Dred’s lap and attempted to rise, but Edward held onto her, refusing to let her get up.
