Davin inhaled a deep breath. His eyes swam, and his mouth cracked before he pushed himself back into Mark’s arms, holding him tight.

“I don’t want to leave you.”

Mark’s heart slammed. The best kind of happiness he could have felt engulfed him to hear words like that, but at the same time, he knew the pain that came with them because he felt it, too.

“I don’t want you to leave either, and I’ll stay, as long as you’ll have me.” Mark inhaled a pained breath. “I promised you that the day I mated with you, and I meant it.”

He felt Davin’s fingers clenching around his back. “I’ll go with you,” he said in a small voice. “Wherever you go…I don’t want to be without you. I don’t…I’m sorry I said I wanted to leave ever. I don’t even think I meant it. When Sigmund came after me…all I could think about was you and…”

“You don’t have to explain it right now if you don’t want to. I get it.” Mark kissed his mate quickly on the mouth. “I get it.”

Davin looked at him and then curled his arms tightly around Mark’s neck, pulling him in, kissing him again.

  Longer this time. Sweeter.

There was so much shit to sift through, but they were going to get through it.

Away from here most likely, but it would be together.
