In a single deft move, Petra lifted the blankets and swung her legs under the silken sheets.
“So graceful,” Diana said with a laugh. “I was wondering what was taking you so long.”
“Just making sure you weren’t going to bite,” Petra said as she slid next to the empress, trailing a hand down the other woman’s side.
“Oh, I’ll bite,” the empress replied, then gave an indignant squeak as Petra slid her wings around both their bodies, pulling them together and pinning the empress’s arms at her side.
“I’d like to see you try.”
“That a challenge?”
“More like a dare.”
