“Do it for the Vine,” the twins sang.
“They ain’t that stupid,” Dez added her own version in a sing-song tone of voice.
“This Knight…” she waved a Vanna White hand over me before continuing. “Is ALL MINE and if any one of you hoes got something to say please see me outside.” Syd finished loud and proud.
“Gotdamn right,” I beamed proudly and accepted the small garment box that Cage passed me.
“You heard the man, kick bricks tricks.” Nix shouted.
“Shoo flies and spies,” Dez waved them away.
“You are the weakest link,” Del sang.
“Goodbye,” Deb finished. The room erupted into laughter and added to telling the unwanted, uninvited guests to leave the premises.
“And with that being said, I have something for you. Would you do me the honor of wearing my patch?”
“I would be honored.” She giddily replied. “Thank you.” The room erupted into applause and wolf whistles. When we parted from our own personal bubble, any and all uninvited guests were gone. Besides the small heated interaction, it was like they were never there as we got back to celebrating. Drinks flowed and the night was full of optimism. Two Knights down and there was an endless possibility as to who was next off the market. On to the next one.

Kanika K. Harris was born and raised in Little Rock, AR. She attended and graduated from the historic Little Rock Central High School in 1999. Kanika is married to her wonderful husband of twelve years and mother to three children. She spends her days working diligently alongside her partner and husband running their home-based business. Wanting to be an urban fiction novelist has always been a dream of hers and finally in 2013 she self-published ‘Love Drug’. The first released novel only increased the hunger to see what other plateaus she could reach.
‘Syd’s Wolf Den’ is the latest release added to the collection by Kanika and there is so much more to come from this author. The passion to create soon trickled over to creating unique book covers. As an author, the need to express the text inside with the perfect perception of the cover is very crucial. Kanika aims for her covers to speak volumes. Although the writing process can be trying at times, she anticipates many more stories to come.
