  Introduction

  His blood sings for hers.

  TOVEN

  Musical genius. Bloodthirsty monster. I was both, sometimes one more than the other. The bloodthirst was my curse. Songwriting was my joy. I hated what I was, so I shut myself away from the world and embraced darkness. It worked fine for nearly a hundred years. But it seemed the world was no longer content to let me be a recluse selling my songs from the shadows. They demanded I step into the light and join the land of the living.

  CELESTA

  College student. Orphan. I was one, then the other. Tragedy snatched everything from me and left me with so many questions. So, I devised a dangerous plan to sell the only thing of value I had left, myself, to a vampire. All in order to uncover the truth. I was leaving one nightmare for another to overcome my misfortune.

  A Note From The Author

  When I write, my intention is to create not just a story for readers to enjoy but to create an experience. I want the characters to come alive and for you to feel like you’re living the story with them. Part of creating an immersive experience for you is creating a soundtrack for the book. The main character, Toven, is a songwriter, so music is instrumental. Many scenes in Toven and Celesta’s story were inspired by song lyrics. Other songs were selected based on the feelings they elicited. You can experience these feelings more fully as you read by listening to the integrated playlist. Songs from all walks of life and all ages have touched this story in one way or another. In addition to a link for my Spotify playlist, there are little music notes
