Dr. Bradford hesitated. “You keep it. Jessica lock down the lab. Use protocol FRIC.”
“FRIC?” Agent Turner’s brow creased. “And, that is code for what?”
“Factual Research Investigative Control.”
Jessica smirked in agreement. “Lock up the science experiment to avoid contamination. FRIC that.”
Agent Morrison looked at Dr. Bradford. “Come with us please.”
The two agents escorted Dr. Bradford from the lab as Rebecca, George and Jessica chased after them. The door shut behind them.
In a few seconds, Jessica re-entered the lab, turned off the lights and quickly closed the door behind her.
The murky water in one of the five tubes glowed neon yellow and vibrated the water.
ABOUT THE AUTHOR
Dr. Melissa Caudle, AKA Dr. Mel, is an American author of more than a dozen books, both fiction and non-fiction and numerous articles in magazines as a freelance writer. One of her most popular books for television creators is The Reality of Reality TV: Reality Show Business Plans and The Reality of Reality TV Workbook, which is translated into five languages and sells worldwide.
Another best seller for Dr. Mel is her book series for screenwriters. The series includes quick guidebooks for screenwriters on how to develop and use a beat sheet, write a logline, synopsis and create a one pager for screenplays. She also has published two books for filmmakers and reality show creators to raise funds for their projects - Fundraising for Low-Budget Films and 150 Ways to Raise Funds for a Reality Show.
As an artist, Dr. Mel illustrated six adult coloring books in her series Abstract Faces which include some of her favorite art creations. She describes her style of art as a mixture between Picasso and Salvador Dali. She uses professional markers, acrylic paints and water colors. Take a look for yourself below. In the summer of 2017, Dr. Mel met Liz Ashe Havrilla, author of One Step at a Time. After hearing her story of surviving Hurricane Katrina in 2005, she helped Liz by editing her book and writing the introduction. “It is a special book with power to heal with God’s grace.”
Because of One Step at a Time, Dr. Mel is writing the companion book, The Golden Needle and Thread, a devotional for healing which will be published in the summer of 2019. Dr. Mel lives in New Orleans, LA with her husband and two cats. She is the mother of three daughters and has seven grandsons and one granddaughter. When she is not writing or drawing, she loves to go to the New Orleans Saints games, ballroom dance, swim, camping and spend time with her family. Her goal is to keep living life to the fullest and cherish every moment.

Rockin Dopsie Jr. is the real Zydeco King who resides in New Orleans, LA and performs all over the world. He has won multiple awards, including being inducted into the Louisiana Musicians Hall of Fame, and his new album Rockyn Zydeco is Grammy nominated.
Besides having performed extensively on their own tours, the band has shared the stage with Tina Turner, Bonnie Raitt, BB King, The Neville Brothers, Dr. John, and Jimmy Buffet. In 1978 they performed on the song That Was Your Mother (Standing on The Corner in Lafayette, Louisiana), which was released on Paul Simon's multi-platinum Grammy award-winning album Graceland. The band has also recorded with Cindy Lauper and Bob Dylan (Oh, Mercy&emdash; 1989).
Oh, did I forget to mention he is a very dear friend who inspired the Swamp Festival scene with Blaze, Lorenzo, Matthew and Kelly? Yes, the Swamp Festival is a real festival we cherish down here in the Big Easy.
