Micahel's Wing: A Paranormal Fantasy
Page 6
Michael breaks Gabriel's arm, listening as his younger brother releases a quick scream and the dagger falls out of his hand.
Michael proceeds by punching Gabriel in the face, knocking him to the ground. Michael then walks over to Eric, grabbing by his non wounded leg and dragging him away from his brothers.
He then pulls a dagger out and stabs Eric in his non wounded leg.
Devin
No!!!!!
Devin rushes Michael, with Michael grabbing Devin by his throat once he is close enough, holding him in place with one hand. Quinton slowly rises from the floor as he watches his brothers suffer.
Michael
Look at this Quinton. What can you actually do, besides watch me take your brothers out one by one? Nothing. You can do nothing. Your only means of some sort of hope was my brother Gabriel, and him alone doesn't stand a chance against me.
Quinton
I know. And that's why I want to make a deal.
Michael
I'm through making deals, I’m out for blood.
Quinton
This deal is much sweeter than before. You can have my vessel. You can even keep my vessel. You don't even have to reunite me with my fiancé. I just want my brothers to be safe. To be free. Please don't kill them. Let them go.
Michael goes into deep thought. A moment later, Michael tosses Devin to the ground.
Michael
Alright. Then I can-
Michael grabs his own head with both hands as if he obtained the worst headache possible. After a moment of self-struggle, his personality changes.
Damian somehow had taken back control of his body.
Damian
(Breathing hard) Quinton, I won't let you be possessed. I was able to regain control of myself for now, but I don't know how long I can keep this up. Do something, quick. (Picks up the gun and puts it in Quinton's hand. He pulls out two bullets from his pocket as well and hands them to Quinton) Kill me.
Quinton
No.
Damian
Do it!
Quinton
I won't!
Gabriel gets up and makes a break for the artifacts that are positioned behind Damian, on the chapel. Gabriel then places the magical artifacts on the floor.
Gabriel
(Looks at Damian’s finger) Damian, give Quinton the ring.
Damian takes the ring off his finger and gives it to Quinton.
Gabriel
Quinton, Michael chose you as an additional vessel, giving you the ability to use the ring as well now. Do it. Use it to paralyze him.
Quinton
(Puts the ring on his finger) I'm sorry bro.
Damian begins to grab his head like Michael did, showing signs of Michael trying to gain control over Damian. Quinton points the ring at Damian, releasing a glowing white flash in front of him.
Damian now stands still with his hands by his side, grunting as he is now unable to move.
Gabriel then begins to chant an unknown language of words, assuming to be a spell chant. Moments later, a black portal opens above the three artifacts, forcing Gabriel to step back as the portal appears to draw in the air around them.
Three cloaked figures walk through the portal, their faces unseen as the worn out hooded robes block their appearances. The ghostly figures immediately grab Damian, pulling him back into the portal with them as he is unable to struggle much.
The portal closes up behind them as the three cloaked figures drag Damian away.
QUINTON(CONT’D)
Damian? (Looks at Gabriel) What the hell was that? What the hell were those things!? Where did they take my brother!?
Gabriel
(Short pause) Those were dimension guardians. They took our brothers away.
Quinton
Well I can see that! Where did they take them?
Gabriel
Who knows? There are too many dimensions to count. They could be lost in the void, a place of nothingness. They could be wondering the lands of Asgard. It is uncertain for any of us to know.
Quinton
No. no, no, no, no, no, no, no! It was supposed to be me! Not my brothers, me! Not any of my brothers! Only me!
The scene fades with Quinton screaming a repetitive rant.
SCENE THREE
INT. QUINTON’S LIVING ROOM, MORNING
A week has passed since the encounter with Michael. Eric and Devin sit in the Living room.
Eric is in a wheelchair and Devin has band aids on his face. There is a knock at the door and Devin answers the door, letting Gabriel in.
Devin
What are you doing here?
Eric
Easy Devin, he saved us, didn't he?
Devin
No, Damian saved us. Quinton is in a mental institute behind all of this, avoiding time in jail for home invasion and murder, because of this dick’s brother.
Gabriel
Sigh. I know I can never make things right. Everything that happened can't be reversed. I just wanted to thank you all face to face. I paid Quinton a visit as well. He didn't say much. And the little he did say; he was placing blame on himself. Michael preyed on his
weaknesses, due to his own selfish goals. But you won't hear from me anymore after today.
Gabriel begins to walk away but Eric stops him, calling out to him.
Eric
Gabriel, wait (rolls himself towards Gabriel). It isn't right for any of us to be mad at you for your brother's decisions. You saved the entire human race. You stopped what could have been the end of the world. We should be thanking you, not the other way around. We
weren't the only ones to lose a brother. You loss one as well. So thank you. I know it wasn't easy turning on your brother.
Gabriel smirks and tries to leave again, but this time Devin stops him, shaking his hand on the way out. Gabriel leaves afterwards and Devin closes the door behind him.
Eric
I'm going to go back to the institute and visit Quinton again tomorrow, are you going with me?
Devin
(Short pause) Maybe next time. I don't want to see him like that.
Devin is seen walking towards his room, leaving Eric in the living room all by himself, in his wheelchair.
