He shrugs. “I’m happy. You did this to me.” He lifts my sweater and kisses my stomach.

As always, my heart melts. Leaning over, I press my lips to his, and let him bring me into his arms.
“Happy New Year, Duncan. I love you.”
He chuckles. “What did I tell you?”
“Yeah, yeah. You told me so. You were so right, it hurts.”
