Into the Fourth Universe
Page 25
So there you are, up to date. The last I saw of Tom was at the big party we had after liberating England in the Second Universe from a bunch of people breeders. He got a bit moody because his Suzanne then didn’t seem to want to spend much time with him. The last person to see him was that statuesque Skagan, Tanda, who said he’d wandered off, vowing to look for some girl he told us about on some island, which I now realise was a U1 buffer zone between U2 and U3. That in itself was accessed via another portal triggered by the light of the full moon to prevent just anyone wandering in. He perhaps had problems because after destroying the Third Universe, it could have buggered up the links out there, and what happens if it was cloudy night? How long would he have had to wait? That’s about all I know as I haven’t seen him since. I guess he found a way out somewhere or he would have been showing his sorry face back again. I’m sure Tanda, would have taken him back. She seemed rather impressed with something they did.
I’ll have to sign off now; they’re calling me into the boarding queue at last. There’s no sign of any ship to take us away yet but it still has more than two days to turn up, so I’m quietly optimistic I’ll be seeing you in a week or so. Got to shut down—I have to switch off my transmitter as it apparently interferes with the coffee machine. Hope this all makes sense. Don’t worry if not; suspend disbelief and all attempts at logic and I’ll be in touch as soon as I can.
Your loving and (very) Private Dick,
M.

About the Author
Robert Wingfield lives in isolation in Darkest Norfolk UK with naught but an enhanced collection of computer hardware, a questionable wit and a writer’s hat as company. He can be seen on nights of the full moon, howling at the keyboard in frustration as the auto-correct fails to rectify even the simplest of fat fingered errors. To date (2019) he has nearly a score of works available for your enjoyment.

He also manages the Inca Project, a collection of independent authors who all subscribe to the ideals of mutual assistance and not paying anything for publishing their works. Between then, the members supply all writers’ needs to turn their books from ideas into finished works of art.
The Inca website has resources and guidance to begin that process.
