Her Alien Rogue: A Sci-Fi Alien Romance (Voxeran Fated Mates Book 5)

Without pulling out, he scoops me up and lifts me as if I weigh nothing, setting me back in the middle of the bed before collapsing on top of me.
Our flushed, sweaty skin sticks together, and I can’t tell if the heavy vibration I feel in my ribs is from his thundering heartbeat or mine.
In this moment, I can’t distinguish between the two.

Raina
I wrap my arms around Kaide’s broad shoulders, clinging to him even as my muscles shake like I just finished a hard workout. I guess, in a way, I did.
Holy shit.
I’ve never had sex like that in my life. It’s been a while since I’ve had sex at all, so I guess part of this could be attributed to how much buildup there’s been. Honestly, though? I don’t think that’s it at all.
It’s not because I haven’t had sex in months.
It’s just… Kaide.
His body is heavy on top of mine, even though I can tell he’s supporting some of his weight on his elbows so he won’t crush me. We’re still connected, his cock still buried inside me, and as I hold on to him, he keeps pulsing his hips, grinding against me. The hard node at the base of his cock presses against my throbbing clit, and I let out a quiet whimper, resting my face in the crook of his neck.
“God, don’t stop,” I murmur. “Please keep doing that. It feels so fucking good.”
He growls softly and does just what I asked, adding a little circle of his hips at the end of every pulse that makes me moan. My legs are wrapped tightly around him, my ankles hooked together as my fingernails dig into his shoulders.
My eyes close, and my inner walls clamp down hard around him as I give myself over to the sensations of it all, letting myself take just what I want.
What I need.
“Yes, my kira,” he rumbles, hunger plain in his voice. “Akhi. Let me feel you.”
So I do.
I let him feel every shudder and shake of my body as I come apart on his cock again, loving the feeling of fullness as I roll my hips against him to bring him even deeper inside me.
I think he softened a little bit after he came, but by the time my orgasm has washed through me, he’s fully hard again, his shaft throbbing inside me. He braces himself on his forearms as he looks down at me.
“How many times can you do that?” he asks hoarsely.
“Come?” I laugh, biting my lip. “I don’t know. Two was my record before this, I think. Three is amazing.”
A look of hunger and determination passes over his face, and he drops his head to kiss me deeply as he draws out and begins to thrust again. Slick wetness spills out from where we’re joined and slides down my thighs, but I don’t even care about that. I barely even notice it as Kaide uses every bit of knowledge he’s gleaned about my body to work me up again.
He makes me come two more times, teasing my breasts with his lips and teeth, nipping at my ear, and running his tongue over my fluttering pulse. After my last orgasm, he finally lets himself go again, his body curving over mine as he comes hard inside me.
I’m covered in sweat, sticky with arousal, and I’m pretty sure there’s a knot in the back of my hair from all the friction. But all I can do is smile dazedly up at the low ceiling, trying to catch my breath.
“That’s one way to pass the time,” I murmur with a laugh, and Kaide chuckles.
“It is.”
He doesn’t move for a moment, and I have the fleeting thought that maybe he’s about to get hard again. I groan softly as my exhausted, sated body somehow manages to perk up with interest. But honestly, as much as I want to, I’m not sure I can go again. I wasn’t lying when I said coming twice was my record before this, and every nerve ending in my body is over-sensitized and electric.
Maybe he can read the expression on my face, or maybe he’s in the same boat I’m in, because Kaide makes a noise in the back of his throat, dropping his head to kiss me before slowly sliding out. He rummages through one of the packs for a cloth to clean up with, and I can’t stop myself from admiring the way his muscles flex and bunch under his pearlescent blue-tinged skin as he moves. His ass is round and firm, and I bite my lip as I stare at it—until he turns around, and I find myself looking at his slowly softening dick instead.
I yank my gaze upward to find Kaide smirking at me, his cocky confidence out in full force.
“Shut up,” I tell him, even though he didn’t say anything, biting back a grin as I throw a lumpy pillow at him.
He catches it with ease before it hits his chest, gripping it in one hand and the cloth in the other as he returns to the bed. He helps me clean up, and even though it weirds the hell out of me to have a man care for me like this—especially after sex, when in my experience, most guys are either looking for the door or rolling over to pass out—I let him do it.
Kaide glances up at me as he runs the cloth over my inner thighs. “Are you all right?”
The teasing look has faded from his eyes, and I get the feeling he’s not just asking about how I feel physically.
I nod, surprised at how easily the answer comes. “Yeah. I’m good. That was…” I draw a breath, chuckling. “I don’t know what it was, but I think I needed it.”
He tosses the cloth aside and stretches out on the bed beside me, resting an arm over my waist. “I meant what I said earlier, Raina. If you choose not to accept the bond, I won’t force you. The choice is still yours, no matter what happened between us. The choice is always yours.”
His words settle something in my chest, and I let out a breath, scooting a little closer to him.
It’s my choice.
And I could choose this.
All of this.
I could choose Kaide.
“I’m not… good at this,” I admit, looking down at his chest since it’s too hard to look him in the eyes while I say it. “I don’t know how to be in a relationship—not really. I haven’t been in love before. I barely even had any real friends back on Earth.”
My throat tightens a little as I speak, but I swallow and keep going. For some reason, I want Kaide to know this. I want him to understand.
“I decided a long time ago that it was better to be alone than to be with the wrong person,” I murmur. “And then, somewhere along the way, I stopped even bothering to look for the right person. I was used to being let down, so I just assumed that everyone would let me down eventually. My impulse has always been to guard my heart, to keep hold of it and not give it away. If I didn’t let anyone else have it, then how could they break it? But it turns out, that’s a really lonely way to live.”
Kaide’s fingertips come to rest on my chin, and he tilts my head up a little, his gaze finding mine.
“It is.” He shakes his head, huffing a breath. “After the Voxeran girl I hoped to mate with bonded to another, I decided I didn’t want a mate at all. I stopped looking for the right one, just like you did. And even though I’ve always had my fellow warriors as company, I think I was lonely too, in a way I didn’t even realize until now.”
My eyebrows shoot up. That’s just about the last thing I would ever have expected Kaide to say. He’s one of the most extroverted of all the Voxerans in the village, always bringing people together with an easy smile or a joke. The idea that he could be lonely beneath all that strikes a chord with me, and without thinking, I lean up and press a kiss to his mouth.
“You’re not alone now,” I whisper.
His arm tightens around me, and he rolls me onto my back, his body draping over me as one of his muscled thighs slips between mine.
“Neither are you,” he murmurs against my lips.
For the first time since the Foreigner II crashed on this dangerous planet—since well before that, really—it feels true.
I’m not alone.
Everything I never thought I could have is right in front of me.
I just have to be brave enough to reach out and take it.
A tiny part of me is still scared that I’m not, that the other shoe wil
l drop and this little bubble of happiness will burst. But as Kaide deepens our kiss, delving his tongue into my mouth hungrily, I let the firm pressure of his lips drown out the cynical voice in my mind.
Maybe I’ve listened to that voice for too long.
Our hands start to roam a little as we kiss, and I can feel Kaide growing half-hard against my hip, but then he reluctantly draws back. His markings are still glowing a little, and his dark hair is messy from having my hands in it. He looks rumpled and real and sexy as fuck.
His gray eyes flash, and he groans. “When you look at me like that, you make it very hard for me to suggest we get out of bed.”
I grin, a giddy little rush of happiness flooding my chest. Despite my old instinctual habit of keeping my walls up, it feels so fucking good not to be constantly fighting against this thing between Kaide and me.
“We should get out of bed,” I tell him firmly, even as I grab his muscled ass and pull him a little closer to me, grinding against his stiffening length.
He chokes out a grunt, his nostrils flaring. Then he narrows his eyes, although humor flashes in their depths. “You are a very evil woman.”
I smirk. “And you love it.”
He swoops down to kiss me thoroughly, moving his lips against mine until I’m breathless and tingling all over. With his fingers threaded through my hair, he draws back enough to meet my gaze, his mouth curving up one side. “You’re right. I do.”
At this point, I’m not sure which one of us I was teasing worse when I instigated this, because I don’t want to get out of bed either. My body is still a little exhausted and sore in places that haven’t been sore in a long damn time, but I could definitely go another round.
We have a mission, though. And the clock is ticking.
With matching groans of dissatisfaction, Kaide and I finally break apart. I spent a good chunk of the day anxiously waiting for dusk to come, but now that it’s finally here, it feels like it arrived too fast. We need to gear up and head to Hyron’s territory soon so that we can figure out where K’Mek might’ve gone.
I can’t stop myself from sneaking a few more glances at Kaide as we dress, watching him deftly tie his loincloth back on.
Things seem different between us, and I don’t think it’s just from the sex or the way I can still feel his body imprinted all over mine. It goes beyond just the intense physical connection we shared, and into the parts of our souls we revealed afterward.
I told him that I’ve always guarded my heart, but today, it feels like I gave him a piece of it.
Once we’re fully dressed, we throw our packs on and head out, making our way down the rapidly darkening streets. I stick close to Kaide, feeling more attuned to his presence than I ever have before. When we reach the border of Hyron’s territory, we slip into the shadows of a small alley, and I look up at him.
“Does he keep guards posted at the borders of his territory?” I ask, trying to get a sense of what we’re up against.
Kaide shakes his head. “No, I don’t think so. But everyone who lives in that territory has sworn fealty to Hyron, so in a sense, the entire place is populated by guards. They don’t welcome outsiders, especially since Hyron’s territory butts up against the territory of a criminal named Strakk, and the two of them are mortal enemies.”
“Super,” I mutter, glancing out toward the street.
Kaide huffs a humorless laugh, but he rests a reassuring hand on my arm, making goose bumps rise up over my skin. “The good news is, we aren’t likely to be mistaken for Strakk’s people. They wear particular colors, so if any of Hyron’s followers do see us, they’ll know we’re not from that rival territory. Of course, the better scenario would be for none of Hyron’s people to spot us at all.”
“Right.” I give a determined nod. “Let’s go with that option.”
We slip out of the alley and head down the street, and I try to suppress the sense of foreboding that rises up in me as we cross over the border into Hyron’s territory, sticking to the darkest shadows we can find. Kaide reaches out in the darkness and grips my hand, and I squeeze his back as we slip down side streets and alleys.
Neither of us know where we’re headed, exactly, but I let Kaide take the lead since he’s more familiar with Pascia in general. Light spills from some buildings, and we carefully avoid those, doubling back a few times to find a path through the sprawling territory.
Fortunately, the streets aren’t packed with people, and we managed to avoid being seen by the ones we do pass. After a few minutes of walking, Kaide lets out a low, triumphant noise.
“There,” he murmurs, jerking his chin toward a large building that juts up ahead of us. It’s the tallest structure I’ve seen in Pascia so far. Considering what the rest of the buildings in this city look like, and the limited availability of resources here, the fact that this several-story structure exists at all is a testament to how much power Hyron must wield.
“I think that’s his base of operations, and where he lives,” Kaide tells me quietly. “If K’Mek came to him, that’s where Hyron would have him kept.”
We creep forward, then duck into an alley quickly as a group of several prisoners pass by us. My heart thunders wildly in my chest, and I blow out a shaky breath as we make our way closer to the tall building. It has to be at least four or five stories tall, and light glows from several of its windows, making the street around it much brighter than I would like.
Kaide pulls me to a stop when we’re still several yards away, and we press ourselves up against the darkened side of a squat stone building, peering around the corner to scope out the high-rise.
Shit.
If K’Mek is in there, I have no damn idea how we’re going to get him out.
As if responding to my thoughts, a group of prisoners burst through the wide front door of the building. I nearly jump at the suddenness of their appearance, and Kaide pulls me deeper into the shadows, shielding me with his body as the squadron of Hyron’s men walk down the street.
I can feel the tension in his shoulders, and the two of us hold perfectly still as the vicious looking aliens pass by.
A few of them are talking in low voices, and I bite my lip as I strain to listen.
“…don’t like playing errand boy for a scrawny little gref,” one of them mutters, and another grunts in agreement. “He thinks he can send us all over the city looking for whatever he needs? We don’t serve him. We serve Hyron.”
“At least he’s got all his supplies for the communicator now,” someone else says. “It won’t be long…”
I lose the thread of their conversation as they get farther down the street, but my heart jumps as I piece together what we just overheard.
“They were talking about K’Mek,” I hiss excitedly, peering up at Kaide through the darkness. “Right?”
He nods, his cloud-gray eyes glinting in the dim light. “I think so. I can’t imagine another communication device that Hyron would have his men scouring the city to find parts for. So we know we were right. He’s in there, and he’s building the communicator for Hyron to use.”
“That takes care of part of our problem,” I murmur, chewing on my lip. “The where. But the how is still tricky as hell. How do we get the communicator out of there?”
Kaide grimaces. “I don’t know. Trying to break into the building on our own would be suicide. Even if we wait until after our rendezvous with the others and go in as a group of five, our odds wouldn’t improve much. The building is heavily guarded, and it’s surrounded on all sides by Hyron’s territory. There’s no way we could get in and out without being overwhelmed by his minions. Unless…”
He trails off, and even though I can barely make out his features through the thick shadows, I can practically hear the gears grinding in his head.
“What?” I whisper, leaning a little closer to him. “What is it? Do you have an idea?”

Kaide
Raina’s eyes are wide as she looks up at me, and she’
s standing so close that I can smell her soft, sweet scent and the lingering scent of our arousal.
Do I have an idea?
Yes, I do. But for a moment, I’m not even sure I should speak it aloud. It’s risky, and the thought of putting my mate in any more danger than she’s been in already makes me—
“Hey.” Raina pokes me in the ribs, jerking me out of my thoughts. “I can feel you getting all protective. Come on, you have to at least tell me your idea. I don’t want you to get hurt either, but we have limited options here, so we have to consider every one.”
I grin, unable to resist looping an arm around her back and kissing her. I press her back against the building’s stone wall, careful to keep my own body between her and anyone who might pass by on the street.
“You’re right,” I murmur, caging her in with my arms as I drop my head to speak quietly in her ear. “You’re one of the fiercest women I’ve ever known. But I can’t apologize for wanting to keep you safe. I always will, even when we fight side by side.”
She shivers against me a little, and my cock twitches, heedless of the fact that this is an inopportune time.
“Taking on Hyron in his own territory would be reckless,” I whisper. “Even for me. But there might be a way we can distract his followers so that we won’t have to fight all of them.”
“How?”
I chuckle darkly. “Do you remember when I told you that it was a good thing we wouldn’t be mistaken for Strakk’s people if we were discovered in Hyron’s part of the city? Well, that gave me an idea.”
“Okay.” She nods encouragingly, curiosity sparking in her eyes. “What is it?”
“Strakk’s followers wear a particular color, and many of Hyron’s followers wear a mark that designates them as loyal to him,” I say. “In other words, each side is easy to identify. From what I understand, the two kingpins are constantly at each other’s throats, maneuvering for power, and the gangs that follow each of them hate the other group with a vengeance. If we can pit the two sides against each other, it will be the perfect distraction. They’ll be too busy battling each other to take note of two prisoners who don’t belong to either gang.”
