Drawn That Way

I’m beyond lucky to have the support of so many wonderful women. Sally Bergom and Caitlin Gutenberger, who shared their names, their animation expertise, and most importantly their witchy ways. My friends and colleagues, Zan Romanoff, Katie Cotugno, Maurene Goo, Sarah Enni, Robin Benway, Brandy Colbert, Margot Wood, Preeti Chhibber, and Victoria Ying. This is the best job in the world because I get to work alongside all of you.
Thank you, Emily, Rachel, and Jeannette, for being my favorite nieces and character namesakes.
Greg Bonsignore, you’re the only person I know who loves A Goofy Movie as much I do, and the only other person who would teach themselves the “I2I” dance. Love is the reason why.
There’s no family quite like mine and thank goodness for it. Thank you for always seeing me and loving what you saw.
Mom and Dad, thank you for putting books in my hands from the very beginning and always, always believing that I could do exactly what I set out to do. Bubbe, you gave me the gift of stubbornness and an unshakeable sense of self. Adam and Abra, thank you for being the willing (and sometimes unwilling) participants in all my early attempts at storytelling, from puppets to plays to short films. You made all this possible. Amy and Tim. Loving Sussmans isn’t easy, but it’s worth it, I hope. Keith, we miss you.
John. You are always my first reader, my forever champion, my whole heart. Teenage me could not dream of a love like yours, and adult me is beyond grateful for it.
Basil and Mozzarella. You’re dogs and you’re awesome.
And thank you, dear reader. It’s been a journey getting this story onto the page, and I’m so glad you’re here to greet it.
