Rumbling Thunder

  “So talk,” she said dryly.

  “Not here. In our room.”

“You mean your room, don’t you? Not that you have to worry. It will be all yours soon enough.”

He acted like he didn’t hear her. “Come with me,” he ordered.

“I have things to do. You’ve had three weeks to talk, so why now?”

  “Let’s go, Sassy.”

“I don’t think so!” That did it and Decker tossed her over his shoulder and headed for their room. The other bikers were hooping, hollering and making wolf calls when they saw Decker carrying her. Rainy was so embarrassed, and she hated him for it. In their room, he tossed her on the bed, and she came up fighting. “You bastard!” she said and pushed at him.

  “Will you stop shoving me?”

  “Fuck off.”

“Oh— is that all you wanted? All you had to do was ask me.” He moved in, and fisting her hair and pulling her head back, he covered her mouth with his. Rainy continued to fight him. But it wasn’t long before she gave in and moaned with pleasure. She wanted him so badly, and it had been so long. He moved his hands up and started to undress her. She, in return, helped him pull his shirt off and she tossed it across the room. Wrapping her arms around his body she kissed him. Now she was on fire and couldn’t get enough of him. She took his manhood into her hand and started to move her hand up and down. But before he came, he pushed her down on the bed. Getting up on his knees he pulled a condom out of his pocket. Undoing his jeans pulling them down he rolled the condom on. He then moved over her and planting small kisses down her body until he found her center. As he moved his tongue back and forth she shuttered. After she climaxed, he pulled her on top of him, she rode him, moving faster and faster until they both climaxed together. Falling to his side, she stayed there to recover.

Finally, she said, “I hate you!”

  Decker laughed. “Really?”

  “Yes. You’re an asshole.”

He rolled to his side facing her. “Who fucks good?”

  “You’re okay.”

Raising an eyebrow, he said, “Just okay?”

“Hey, I used to have a red hot, Latin lover, or did you forget that?”

Fully amused now, Decker laughed out loud. “Isn’t he the real reason you got on the back of Maddog’s bike?”

Rainy couldn’t help it. She smiled and pushed at him. “Oh, just shut up!” Rainy got up and grabbed her clothes. And that’s when Decker saw her leg.

  “You got another tattoo?”

  “Yeah, you like it?”

  “No!”

Rainy shrugged her shoulder’s. “Oh well, too late now.”

  “When did you get it?”

“Alex is a tattoo artist. In fact. he’s the one who came up with the idea. I’m sure he was just trying to be funny when he suggested I have a gator put on my ankle. I told him I would love too, only I had no money. He said he would do it for free to anyone who survived a gator attack.”

She could tell Decker wasn’t thrilled, but like she said it was too late. And what could he do? It was him who wanted the first tat put on her shoulder. He looked it over then said, “I kinda like him.” Rainy smiled back at him. The gator had his mouth open and under his tail, it read, ‘Gator Bait’, with an arrow pointed towards her ankle.

Rainy continued to get dressed. “I have to do the dishes now.”

“No—you don’t. You cooked. Someone else can do the dishes.”

“I don’t mind doing them, Decker. And that way I can put things away so I can find them.”

Decker grinned at her. “You know you’re my old lady, and that means you have to do as you’re told.”

  “Who made up that rule?”

  “It’s always been that way.”

  “Really?”

  “Yep!”

  “And if I don’t listen?”

  “I’ll have to beat you.”

Rainy giggled. “Oh, you talk so bad.”

  “You believe me, don’t you?”

  “No!”

Decker busted out laughing. “Well, I tried.”

Rainy started towards the door. “Wait!”

  “Now what?”

“I have something for you.” She stood looking back at him. He got up and opened the dresser drawer and took something out, then sat back down on the bed. “Come here.” Rainy walked back to the bed and sat next to him. He handed her a small box.

  “What’s this for?”

  “It’s a Christmas gift.”

“Oh, hold on.” She went and got something that was in a bag in the chair next to the door. “I got this for you, but I wasn’t going to give it to you.” He narrowed his eyes at her. “Sorry, but you pissed me off.”

“So what were you going to do with it?”

“I don’t know— maybe the great Latin lover?”

Decker shook his head. “You’re asking for it.”

“Oh, just open it, will you?” She huffed. He mimicked her with his mouth as he tore the paper off the small box. It was a Harley Davidson belt buckle. “Do you like it?”

“I do. Thank you, it’s great! Now open yours.”

Rainy peeled the paper off the box and opened it. It was an emerald nose ring. “It’s beautiful. How’d you know May was my birth month?”

  “You told me.”

  “No, I didn’t.”

“Sassy, you had to. How else would I know?”

“I never told anyone. No one knows my real name or my birth date.”

“Your birthday is on May 1st. And yes, you told me! You said you and your sister have the same birthday.”

  “Okay, maybe you’re right.”

  “What is your name anyway?”

  “Ha, nice try buster.”

Decker laughed at her and pulled her close. “I love you, Sassy.”

They spent the rest of the night together, until four in the morning when Decker got up and left. Rainy was glad they had made up. Even if she couldn’t be with him for Christmas, she’d had him all night.

Tinman was in a tizzy because they only had forty-nine women in the back of the truck. One got away from Maddog. “I told you what would happen. Now I don’t care how, or even which one, but you have one hour to get a woman here. I don’t care if it’s your kid sister. Now move!” he ordered.

“We don’t know where the women are. They went to the mountains for the day,” Jona informed Tinman.

  “What about the sweet candies?”

“I don’t think any of them stayed for Christmas.”

“Jona, Meat, and Demon, head back to the clubhouse. You grab whoever is there. I don’t care if it’s a sweet candy or someone’s old lady. You meet us at the rendezvous point. I will tell them you’re on the way. And you better have a woman with you or give your ass to the devil. You understand me?” Tinman growled. The three bikers mounted their motorcycles and pulled out.

Decker felt ill. He knew Sassy was at the clubhouse, but was hoping a sweet candy girl might be there also. The men knew to grab the younger one. Most of the girls that hung out at the clubhouse were in their teens. And he knew that Sassy was still in her’s. However, with her jet black hair and heavy makeup, she looked older. And maybe the tattoos might throw them off.

Tinman broke Decker’s thoughts when he called Tools over. “Take your truck. They can’t haul her on one of their bikes. And the rest of you, let’s get a move on. We have to be there by nine o’clock.”

They all moved out, staying far enough back that if the cops pulled the semi over, no one would know the bikers were with them. The 49 women were all in the back of the 18 wheeler. They ranged from age 12 to 20. The handoff would take place just outside of Macon, Georgia. From there, they would be taken to the coast of Mississippi and shipped overseas.

  ***

Back at the clubhouse, Rainy was bored. There wasn’t much to do with the bikers gone. Even the prospects were gone. None of the girls hung around. Most of them lived close, and sh
e figured they went to visit family. She had already fed the animals for the morning. And she was going to wait to clean out their pens until later in the morning. Then she heard the rumbling of motorcycles and wondered who was coming. She hoped it wasn’t another club. What would she do with them?

A few minutes later, Jona came in followed by Meat. Surprised to see the two prospects, Rainy said, “Where were you two at? I thought I was the only one here.”

“Decker needs you to come with us.”

  “Why, what’s wrong?”

“He didn’t say. He just told us to bring you to him.”

“Okay, let me get my jacket.”

“No time for that we have to hurry,” said Jona, figuring this was going to be easy.

  “But it’s cold out there?”

“Meats outside he has an extra one you can use.”

As they walked outside where Meat was waiting, Demon pulled around the clubhouse on his motorcycle and told them to wait.

A few minutes later, Tools pulled inside the gate in his truck. Now Rainy was starting to get nervous. Something was off. Why would Decker send four men to get her when he only needed one? Rainy took a step back towards the clubhouse and turned to run. The three bikers went after her, catching her in no time. Demon tied her hands and feet so she couldn’t go anywhere. “Where are you taking me?” Rainy yelled, but no one answered her. She wanted Decker and started to cry. Placing her in the back of the box truck, Meat pulled the door closed. Rainy couldn’t see anything. It was pitch black, and one thought kept going through her mind. She’d had all morning to run. Why didn’t she?

They drove through Georgia at a fast speed. Rainy could tell they were on the interstate by how fast the truck was moving. Oh, she knew that they would be sorry as soon as Decker found out. They would wish that they never messed with her. That’s all she could think about. What Decker was going to do to them for hurting her?

It seemed that she had been in the truck forever when it finally slowed down. They were no longer on the expressway. The ride had become bumpy now. Then finally, the truck stopped. The first voice she heard was Tinman’s. “You have her?” he bellowed.

“Yes, Pres. We do,” shouted Tools.

“Good, put her with the others,” he demanded.

Meat opened the doors, and the light blinded Rainy. Then he grabbed her legs and pulled her out of the truck, making her stand next to him. It took her eyes a minute to adjust to the bright light. Meat lifted her and carried her to the semi, and after the doors were open, he climbed up and hauled her inside. He made her sit on a bench with the other women. Rainy realized what was going on. She would be sold with the other women in this truck. Looking past Meat, she saw Decker and screamed his name. “Decker, please help me! Decker, help me!” She sobbed uncontrollably. She kept begging him for help. “I’ll do whatever you want me to do. But please don’t do this. Decker, please, please don’t.” She was crying so hard now, no one could understand what she was saying.

“Meat, will you please shut that bitch up!” Decker finally yelled and tossed him a roll of duct tape. “No,no,no…” Rainy cried, shaking her head violently from side to side. Then she was muffled when Meat pinned her head against the wall of the trailer and pushed the tape over her mouth. Meat jumped to the ground and shut the doors behind him.

  ***

Handlebars rode his Harley up next to Decker. “Hold it together man!”

Tinman walked over to Decker. “You okay, Brother?”

“Yeah, let’s get this over with.” Decker stressed.

“Okay, Brother!” said Tinman and slapped Decker’s shoulder. “Let move out,” he shouted.

  ***

Hot tears of rage rolled down Rainy’s face. She couldn’t believe Decker was in on this. Her mind kept playing the scene repeatedly; Decker yelling at Meat to shut that bitch up and tossing him the tape. She thought she knew him. And thought that he loved her. But he was a horrible monster. Her heart broke for the rest of these girls. Some of them were so young and like her, had no idea what was going to happen next. Where were they going to end up? She could hear them sobbing and felt their fear. At this moment, death would be welcome, she believed. It would be better than the alternative, she was sure. All of them were seated around the inside walls of the trailer. They were all tied to a rail that went around the inside wall. It was as if this trailer was made to haul humans. And now she understood what had been going on with these bikers. So this is how they make their money. Right now, she wished them to all burn in hell. Each and every one of them, especially Decker. No one deserved it more than he did.

All of a sudden, the truck stopped and sirens were blaring. She could hear a bull horn. “On the ground now,” someone yelled. Nothing but chaos going on. But Rainy had no idea what was happening. It was just a loud commotion. Then the door of the trailer opened. It was the law. Federal agents everywhere; FBI and ATF, Macon police, and state police. It was the local police who untied the girls and helped them out of the back of the truck. They were each given a blanket and a bottle of water. The medics were there, and one ambulance after another started taking the girls to the hospital. But before it was Rainy’s turn, a Macon policewoman pulled her out of line. “Here, she goes with the bikers. She’s one of them.”

“How do you know?” Asked the state trooper.

“The tattoo on her right shoulder.”

“No, I’m not one of them!” Rainy protested. But her cries went unheard. The trooper handcuffed her, walked her to a cruiser, opened the back door and helped her in. But she wasn’t alone. Bear was also seated in the backseat. He looked at her, and she turned towards him, “What the hell are you looking at!” she snapped at him. After all, he couldn’t hurt her anymore. And she loathed all of them.

They sat there for what seemed like forever before the two troopers came, and both got into the front seat. One male, one female. They never said anything to her or Bear. They drove them away from the scene. That’s when Rainy saw something and knew her eyes had to be playing tricks on her. It was a young FBI agent, but she looked just like Liz. The young agent gave her a surprised glance as they passed by. Rainy turned back to get a better look, but the woman never looked her way.

It took a good half an hour for them to reach Macon. The two troopers walked them into the building. The state police headquarters was a madhouse. “More?” a man dressed in a suit asked.

“I’m afraid so. The city is full and the county can’t take anymore.” Stated the female Trooper.

Rainy thought that was weird. After all, there weren’t that many bikers in their club. That’s when she glanced around and realized it wasn’t just the Atlanta club. There were bikers everywhere.

  ***

Rainy had been sitting there for hours. It had been early morning when they were arrested, and it was almost nightfall now. She was hurting because she needed to go to the restroom. And she would do just about anything for a drink of water. They had come and gotten Bear hours ago. It made her wonder if maybe they had forgotten her.

Some older man came into the room and said, “Go get the shields in here, we need to process these people and place them tonight.”

Detective Torres walked into the room and took the first available desk he came too. A trooper walked up to him and handed him three folders. The detective stood up and called the first interview. Rainy looked over at this detective. He was a dead ringer for her brother-in-law. But why would Darius be here in Macon? No way it could be him. Besides, he works homicide in New York City. But if it was him, he was her ex-brother-in-law. He and Samantha weren’t married when she died.

There were four detectives processing people. Rainy didn’t even care if Darius’s look-alike got her to interview. She needed to go to the restroom. Finally, a female trooper came in and took one look at Rainy and knew something was wrong. She walked over to her. “Are you okay?“

“I need to go really bad.”

“Okay, I’ll be right back.” Th
e trooper went and got the key for the cuffs. She came back, uncuffed her hands, and took her to the restroom.

Rainy came back out and said, “Thank you!”

  ***

As soon as Torres heard her voice, he jerked around to see her. Oh my God, he thought. He knew her. He was shuffling through his files when he saw her name, Samantha Perez.

Julia, the trooper, walked by. “Hey Juls, what was the vamp thanking you for?”

“She’s been here all day, and no one would take her to the restroom. The poor kid was in tears, she was hurting so bad.”

“I’m sorry to hear that. I just came on myself. It was my day off, and I did have a date with my kids. I had promised to take them to the movies.”

“Yeah, Gabriel, it sucks being in law enforcement sometimes.”

“Yes, I agree. Why was she with the bikers? They don’t take their women on a job like this.”

“From what I understand, she was in the truck with the vics. But she has a biker mark tattooed on her right shoulder.”

“Oh, I see. Maybe she pissed the club off,” he reasoned.

  Jules nodded her head. “Maybe!”

Torres called the next person. And Michael called Rainy.

Michael Johnson started the interview. “Your name?”

Rainy was three desks away from Darius’s look alike. She didn’t want to get near him, and maybe if she was lucky, she wouldn’t.

After the interview, Michael sent her to general lock up. Torres asked him if he could study her file. Micheal agreed and handed it over to him.

  Chapter 20

  Wifey

Rainy’s morning didn’t go well. Bail wouldn’t be set until the next day, and she was given one phone call. But there was no way she was going to call her parents. Just picturing her father’s reaction was enough to make her feel ill. And why was Darius here in Georgia? Why was he going by a different name? Detective Gabriel Torres. That was just weird. At first, she didn’t think it was her brother-in-law, but now she knew it was him. However, she wasn’t so sure he knew her. She told the cops her name was Samantha Perez, her late sister’s name. He should have reacted to that. Then again, Samantha is a pretty common name. Perez is Darius’s birth name, yet he said nothing. Knowing he’d moved on with his life, now she was wondering if he had a new wife and if he did, what was she like? She hoped he treated her better than he had treated Samantha. Because God knows, he was awful to her older sister. Not that Samie was an angel by any means, she wasn’t. But Samie never treated anyone badly.
