Mal

He washed off and stepped out of the shower. He grabbed a towel and glanced towards the door where he knew Mal was.

Mal was hot as hell. Those blue eyes of his were unbelievable. But the scar made him real to Sean. He was sure most people recoiled when they saw it, but it didn’t make him any less handsome or sexy to Sean. He wanted Mal more than he’d ever wanted anyone else in his life. Living with the man was gonna be hell on him. Sleeping next to him would definitely give him a severe case of blue balls. Fuck.

  Chapter Three

  Mal

THREE DAYS with Sean and he wanted to strangle the man. He also very much wanted to fuck him, so it was a very confusing time for his poor dick. As much as he liked having Sean sleep next to him, it certainly wasn’t fun for his balls. Sean was a big cuddler. He slept half on top of Mal. He was lucky he woke first, otherwise, Sean would’ve had the pleasure of seeing Mal’s morning wood in full effect.

He glanced up as Sean walked past him. Sean was mumbling to himself as he paced the living room. Mal followed him with his eyes. Sean was on edge. He slept like the dead and yet he looked like he hadn’t slept in weeks. He was stressed out and Mal didn’t know what to do to help.

His thigh felt much better. The painkillers helped with that. The wounds were healing well, and he was beginning to walk normally again. He’d been damned lucky that bullet hadn’t nicked an artery or caused any nerve damage.

Sean cursed, getting Mal’s attention. He pushed himself up from the couch and made his way to Sean who was now standing still. Sean was still mumbling and cursing when Mal walked up behind him and put a hand on his shoulder. Sean jumped and whirled around.

“Shit. Where the fuck did you come from?” Sean asked.

Mal cocked a brow at him. “I’m surprised you didn’t hear me. I’m not exactly quiet with this leg.”

Sean opened his mouth, then closed it and shook his head.

“Are you all right?” Mal asked.

Sean sighed, then said, “Not really. Wade made a mess of everything and I should definitely be fixing it, but…”

  “But?”

  Sean shrugged. “Doesn’t matter.”

Mal refrained from rolling his eyes. “It obviously does. Is it just me you don’t want to talk about it with, or is it in general you don’t wanna talk?”

“It’s not…” Sean let out a sigh and dropped his head back. He squeezed his eyes shut for a second, then opened them again and met Mal’s gaze. “It just sucks and talking about it isn’t gonna magically make everything right again.”

“Still. If it’s affecting you this much, maybe getting it off your chest is good.”

Sean eyed him skeptically and asked, “Why are you so concerned with how I’m feeling?”

Mal glanced down. He kinda asked for that. He didn’t have an answer for Sean. He knew why he worried about the man, but he couldn’t tell Sean that.

“Let me help you,” Mal said instead of answering Sean’s question.

Sean frowned and for a long moment, Mal thought Sean wasn’t going to talk to him, but then Sean let out a loud sigh

“I let down a lot of people because of Wade,” Sean said.

“None of that was your fault.”

“Yeah, I know. Doesn’t really matter, does it? I was robbed and nearly killed. No one is gonna want to do business with me now.”

“You’ll figure it out. You always do.”

In the years he’d known Sean, he’d seen a lot of shit thrown Sean’s way and the man always managed to find a way out of it. Sean was a fighter. He’d known that from the moment they’d met. He wasn’t the type to give up. He might retreat and regroup but that was only because he was smart.

“I’m a fucking failure. Did you know I haven’t called in my men yet? I’ve had everything back for two weeks and yet I haven’t had the guts to call them. I have a whole load of stuff sitting in another warehouse and I don’t know what to do with it. I should’ve had it moved back to the other warehouse by now, but I’ve been sitting on my hands, unable to pick up the damned phone because the thought of having to start over and risk failing scares the shit out of me.” Sean pulled a face. “Oh, god. I’m gonna have to live off of fake IDs.”

  “I’m sure you won’t.”

“You don’t know that,” Sean snapped. “Fuck. Everything I’ve worked for… Gone. It’s fucking gone. I need to start from scratch. I’ll have to sell the house. I hate this house now and, still, the thought of having to give it up makes me want to scream.”

“Hey,” Mal wrapped his arms around Sean. “You’re gonna be okay.”

Sean mumbled something Mal couldn’t hear and then he buried his face against Mal’s chest, his hands fisting Mal’s shirt. Mal put a hand on the back of Sean’s head. He closed his eyes and breathed in, Sean’s scent filling his nose. He had always seen Sean as a fun and carefree guy. This was a whole new side to the man and, unfortunately, it tugged at his heartstrings. Hard.

Seeing Sean so vulnerable… It did things to him. Made him consider throwing caution to the wind and give in. It made him realize that he didn’t know everything about Sean. He couldn’t know everything there was to know about him. Not when he’d kept his distance for so long. Maybe there was a chance for them. A chance Sean felt the same way.

There was one way to find out. He just needed an answer to something first.

  Sean

Having Mal’s arms wrapped around him felt too good. He didn’t want to ever let go. He just wanted to hold on and forget the world. Forget everything he had to do and what he might lose. It was just him and Mal.

When Mal pulled back, Sean swallowed the complaint on the tip of his tongue and let his arms fall to his side. Mal ran his eyes over Sean’s face.

“Why did you do it? Why did you warn me?”

Sean swallowed hard and cut his eyes to the ground.

  “What does it matter?”

He cringed, knowing he’d said that a lot lately. Too much. He was becoming a broken record. Mal put a finger under Sean’s chin and tilted his head up. He met Mal’s fiery gaze.

  “Oh, it matters,” Mal said.

Sean’s breathing got harder and he pulled away from Mal before the man could notice. Usually, he wasn’t the type to hide who he was attracted to. He was pretty forward with that kind of stuff, really. But with Mal? He couldn’t risk exposing himself like that.

  “I owed you,” Sean said.

Mal tilted his head to the side, his gaze intense as he said, “That’s not why you did it.”

Sean clenched his teeth, his nails digging into the palms of his hands.

“I couldn’t risk anything happening. I know you probably could’ve taken them on and come out on top, but I just couldn’t take that chance. Besides, they were there for me. It’d be really stupid to have them set out of the game. Also, it turns out that you’re not invincible, so I’m glad I did it. I mean, you’re a total asshole and you were working for the guy who tried to kill me and stole everything I had, but you saved my life when you didn’t have to, and I just really prefer you alive.”

He sucked in a deep breath. Fuck. He definitely shouldn’t have said all that. “I don’t mean that in an I care about you way. Just that—”

He was cut off by Mal’s mouth on his. The kiss was short and shocked the hell out of him. Mal pulled back and Sean could do nothing but stare at him. Mal’s lips quirked as he rubbed his thumb across Sean’s cheek.

“You talk too much,” Mal said and lowered his head, putting his lips a hairsbreadth from Sean’s. “And you do care about me.”

  “I do not—”

Mal took his mouth in a hard kiss. There was nothing short or fleeting about this one. Sean dug his fingers into the back of Mal’s shoulders, hanging on tightly. He moaned and Mal took it as incentive to shove his tongue into Sean’s mouth. Heat exploded through him like he’d never felt before.

A hand found one of Sean’s ass
cheeks, squeezing and pulling his body closer to Mal’s. He pulled back when he felt Mal’s hard cock against him. He panted for breath as he looked up into Mal’s eyes.

  “Fuck,” he breathed.

Was this real? Was this actually happening?

Mal ran his thumb across Sean’s now puffy lower lip. A gasp escaped Sean and Mal lowered his head to suck Sean’s lip into his mouth and bite down just hard enough to make Sean’s cock that much harder. Mal moved back and with a husky voice, he said, “I need you naked and writhing on me.”

Sean’s pulse spiked as desire burned through his body. He couldn’t make words come out of his mouth, so he just nodded. He glanced around. They were closer to the couch than the bedroom, so he tugged Mal towards it. Mal followed without protest but walked slowly because of his leg. When they reached the couch, Sean pushed Mal onto it. Mal sat down with a huff and looked up at Sean with heat burning in his eyes. Sean bit his lip and crawled onto Mal’s lap. Mal’s arms came around him, pulling him closer. Sean took Mal’s mouth in a deep, scorching kiss. Sean thrust his hips, rubbing himself against Mal’s hard erection. He groaned into Mal’s mouth.

When he needed more, Sean got off of Mal to grab a condom and lube from the drawer in the coffee table. He tossed both things on the couch next to Mal and went to work on Mal’s clothes. He pulled Mal’s shirt off and threw it over his shoulder. He moved onto the loose shorts Mal was wearing. He knelt down on the floor between Mal’s legs and glanced up at him. Mal was watching him through half-lidded eyes, his lip between his teeth. Sean unbuttoned Mal’s shorts and tugged them down Mal’s hips. Once they were off, he turned his gaze on the bandage covering Mal’s thigh. It didn’t look too bad. Then something else caught his attention. A big, hard, something else. He took in the sight of Mal’s cock. With it being right there in front of him, how could he resist? He wrapped a hand around Mal’s cock and took the head into his mouth.

  “Sean. Fuck,” Mal gasped.

Fingers slid into his hair and when he glanced up, he saw Mal had his head thrown back. He took Mal’s cock to the back of his throat and swallowed, making some unintelligible words come out of Mal. If his mouth wasn’t full of delicious cock, he would’ve grinned. He alternated between sucking Mal’s cock to the root and licking around the rosy tip, the sounds Mal made only spurring him on.

His cock really wanted out of his pants, so he let Mal’s slip from between his lips and stood. He made quick work of his own clothes, throwing them on the floor.

Mal grabbed the small bottle of lube next to him and said, “Come here.”

Sean straddled Mal’s hips and leaned in to kiss him, drawing a deep groan out of the man. He heard the cap of the lube being opened and then Mal slid a cold, wet finger between his cheeks. He gasped against Mal’s lips, his ass clenching. Mal circled his hole, then pressed a finger inside. Sean groaned at the thought of having Mal inside him, stretching and filling him. Mal added a finger and before he knew it, he was riding Mal’s fingers.

He broke the kiss to say, “I’m good. I need you inside me. Now.”

Mal looked like he was about to protest but then he changed his mind and removed his fingers. Sean reached for the condom packet and tore it open. He rolled it down Mal’s impressive erection, anticipation making his hands shake a bit. He put his hands on Mal’s shoulders and bit his lip. Mal grabbed his dick, lining it up with Sean’s hole. Holding Mal’s gaze, Sean lowered himself onto Mal’s cock.

“Fuck,” Sean gasped when the head of Mal’s cock stretched him. He was panting by the time he bottomed out. “Jesus fucking Christ. I would totally make a joke right now, but I’m way too turned on.”

Mal grumbled something and then he tried to thrust up into Sean but ended up only hissing in pain.

  “Dammit,” Mal growled.

Sean couldn’t help his grin. He grabbed a fistful of Mal’s hair and pulled his head back. He leaned down, pressing a kiss to Mal’s throat before putting his mouth next to Mal’s ear.

“You’re gonna have to let me do it,” Sean said.

Mal didn’t look too happy about it so Sean lifted himself up until Mal’s cock was almost all the way out and then he lowered himself agonizingly slowly. Mal’s eyes were burning with want. Sean slammed his mouth over Mal’s.

“Sit back and enjoy. You think you can do that?” Sean asked against Mal’s lips.

When he leaned back, it was to see Mal with a wicked smile. Mal moved his arms to lie across the back of the couch and arched a brow at Sean who could definitely take a hint. He began fucking himself on Mal’s cock. When he’d fantasized about getting fucked by Mal, this wasn’t what he’d imagined. No, this was much better. If Mal hadn’t been hurt, Sean doubted he would’ve let him be in charge. He loved taking Mal’s control away from him. Loved how much the man fought to keep it but couldn’t.

Mal moved an arm to run his hand down Sean’s chest. He wrapped his fingers around Sean’s rock hard cock and stroked it a few times then moved his hand to grab Sean’s ass. He brought his other arm down to grab Sean by the hips. He forced Sean to slow down his movements.

“Fucker,” Sean growled, but there was no heat behind the word.

He let Mal set the pace, moving him up and down his cock. Sean arched his back, his eyes closing as nonsense fell from his lips.

“You’re so fucking beautiful like this,” Mal said, sounding breathless.

Sean leaned down to kiss Mal. He didn’t wait for Mal to open for him, he just pushed his tongue past Mal’s lips. Mal slid a hand up Sean’s chest to the back of his neck, holding on as they kissed. The kiss was messy and wet, but he didn’t care. He felt his orgasm building fast and his movements began to lose all rhythm. Mal wrapped his fingers around Sean’s cock, his strokes hard and fast.

Sean came, an intense wave of pleasure spreading through his body as he spilled between them. He buried his head in Mal’s shoulder, his breathing hard. Mal’s hand on the back of his neck kept him there. Once he could breathe somewhat normally again, he turned his head to press a kiss to the side of Mal’s neck.

  “You come yet?” Sean asked.

Mal grunted. “Oh, I came, all right.”

  Sean snorted and pulled back.

  “How’s the leg?”

Mal chuckled and said, “You really do care.”

“Fuck you,” Sean said and leaned back. “I just wanna know when you’re up for more of that, ‘cause I definitely want more orgasms.”

“Uh-huh, that’s totally why,” Mal said.

“Yup. Orgasms. I’m all about the orgasms.”

Mal smiled up at him, his fingers trailing down Sean’s face. Sean shook his head and kissed Mal. Mal’s lips were soft against his and there was nothing hurried or desperate about the kiss.

  Mal

He shouldn’t have fucked Sean, because now he knew he could never get enough of the man. That was a problem. He wanted more than just sex. It might be hypocritical of him with the life he’d chosen, but that was what he wanted. Sean on the other hand? He never kept anyone around long enough to find out more than their favorite sex position. He knew because he’d been watching Sean for a while. Since that day he’d saved Sean, whenever he’d been in town, he’d gone to check up on him. Sometimes he’d stayed for longer than he probably should have, but that was the thing about Sean; the man drew him in like no one else.

He was sitting in bed with Sean sleeping next to him. Sean looked comfortable. Relaxed. Mal did want to help him get his feet under himself again, but if he did, it’d be at the expense of his heart. The longer he stayed, the harder it would be to leave.

“What are you thinking so hard about?” Sean asked.

Mal glanced down to see Sean looking up at him with sleepy eyes and a lazy smile.

  “Just… stuff.”

Sean pushed up on an elbow and pressed a kiss to Mal’s lips. He leaned back just enough to meet Mal’s gaze.

  “Why don’t you forget abou
t stuff and lie down so I can use you like a pillow?”

Mal snorted, a smile spreading on his lips. He reached up to cup Sean’s face and brought him down for another kiss. He felt Sean’s smile against his lips and couldn’t stop one from spreading on his own. He’d never thought he’d have Sean this way. He’d hoped. Had spent too many nights imagining it. But he’d never thought it would actually happen. The question now was how did they move forward from here? He hated to think that this could just be sex to Sean, but for a moment he was going to pretend that it wasn’t.

Mal laid down and Sean plastered himself against his side, his head on Mal’s shoulder and a leg between Mal’s. Sean put a hand on Mal’s chest, right over his frantic heart. He put his hand over Sean’s, interlacing their fingers. He sent up a little prayer that he would get to keep this with Sean and closed his eyes.

  Chapter Four

  Sean

HE STOOD in front of the basement door, contemplating whether he should open it or not. He had his workshop in the basement and he hadn’t been down there since the day his house was shot up. Being there had saved his life, but it also left him with some not so nice memories of the place. He was both itching to get back to work and afraid it wouldn’t be the same. That he wasn’t the same.

He took a deep breath and put his hand on the handle. He closed his eyes and counted to ten.

“Get a grip, Sean,” he told himself.

He opened the door and stared at the stairs. It nearly hurt taking that first step, but he knew he had to. He walked down the steps slowly. At the end of the stairs, there was a little hallway with two doors. One led to a room he used for storage and the other was to his workshop.

He stopped in front of the door and typed in the code on the keypad. There was a click and then the door swung open. He stepped into the room and just glanced around. It looked exactly like he’d left it. He had told the cleaners not to go near the basement. He couldn’t have had them poking around with the shit he had in there. It was too risky.
