Kaden & Keegan (The Walkers of Coyote Ridge Book 9)

“What? You took that bet, darlin’.”
“What bet?” Keegan inquired.
He let Bristol explain what happened and how she’d managed to get herself in that position.
“You wanna cook?” Keegan asked when she finished. “Or shall I?”
Kaden understood what his brother was really asking. Do you want to get started with her now or shall I?
“I’ll cook,” he offered.
“Very well.”
Keegan reached for Bristol’s hand, tugging her along as he led the way over to the kitchen table. He pulled out a chair, dropped down into it, then patted his knee in invitation.
Bristol waited for him to set his beer on the table before she got situated on his lap.
While he flipped the steaks, Kaden watched them, watched the way Keegan ran his hands along the smooth expanse of her bare thigh.
To his surprise, his brother didn’t strip her bare and have his wicked way with her.
In fact, he got the feeling Keegan was holding back for a reason.
Because he didn’t want it to get awkward, Kaden opted for conversation.
“You ever get another teacher hired?” he asked, glancing over at Bristol from his position at the countertop grill. Yesterday she had mentioned that one of her part-time teachers had decided to stay home with her kids, leaving her to fill the position.
“I did not.” She sounded disappointed. “We’ve done a couple of interviews, but I wasn’t impressed. I’ve got a few more later this week, though. So I’m keepin’ my hopes up.”
“I’ll come work at your daycare,” Keegan offered, taking a pull on his beer. “I can chill with the kids all day, then sneak off with you while they’re down for their naps.”
“I’m not sure I could afford a distraction the likes of you. Nothin’ would ever get done.”
“I’m okay with that,” he told her, nuzzling her neck as he pulled her into him. “Damn, you smell good.”
Bristol moaned when Keegan pressed his lips against her skin.
“Perhaps dinner should wait,” Keegan said, obviously speaking loud enough for Kaden to hear. “Maybe we should just feast on you.” Keegan slid his hands beneath Bristol’s sweatshirt. “She’s not wearin’ a bra,” he announced.
Kaden wasn’t sure why he liked that, but his cock jerked behind his zipper.
“Fucking hell,” Keegan rumbled as he lifted the sweatshirt higher.
Kaden grabbed his beer, leaned his hip against the counter, and watched.
“Hold this up,” Keegan told her.
Bristol gripped the sweatshirt, holding it high enough to keep her breasts visible. From the way she was sitting, Kaden could see the lovely pale globes and her pretty pink nipples, and his mouth watered with the need to taste her.
“Turn toward me,” Keegan instructed.
Kaden had expected her to shift her torso toward Keegan, but Bristol evidently had other plans, because she got to her feet, straddled his thighs, then lifted her sweatshirt again.
“This is nice,” Keegan mumbled, pressing his palms against her back as he pulled her toward him, letting his breath fan her nipple. “So fuckin’ nice.”
Suddenly Kaden wished Keegan was the one cooking dinner. Why had he offered again?
Kaden’s view was blocked from the action, but he got the gist. He knew Keegan was teasing her nipples, laving her breasts. He had to satisfy himself with the sounds of Bristol’s pleasure, those soft moans that escaped her even as she pressed her chest toward Keegan in an attempt to get closer.
“Take it off,” Keegan muttered.
No hesitation on her part. Bristol discarded the sweatshirt, tossing it aside before her hands cupped Keegan’s head, holding him in place while he feasted on her once again.
They remained like that for long minutes, driving Kaden absolutely batshit crazy. Somehow he managed to focus on the steaks, not wanting dinner to burn.
“Dinner’s ready,” he finally announced, hating to break up their little party.
Releasing Bristol’s nipple with a resounding pop, Keegan sat up.
“Don’t bother gettin’ dressed,” Kaden told her, delivering two of the three plates to the table. “I like you topless.”
When he stepped back, Keegan helped Bristol to her feet so she could sit in the other chair.
“I’ll do my best to keep my hands to myself,” Keegan said, reaching for his beer.
“I won’t,” Kaden told her when he took his seat.
“Promise?”
“Oh, yeah.”
Her giggle had his chest feeling tighter than it had in a long damn time.
And that wasn’t a good thing, he realized.
*
Never in her life had Bristol eaten dinner naked.
Well, not when there were other people around, anyway.
And fine, she wasn’t completely naked. She still had on her pajama shorts although they weren’t doing much good at all. Especially not when Kaden and Keegan were taking turns sliding their big hands beneath the wide openings and between her legs, their fingers finding her clit, doing wicked hot things to her while she tried to eat. As one might imagine, it was futile to attempt, and she would’ve given up trying long ago, except they seemed intent on ensuring she had dinner. While one would torment, the other would feed her. By the time she had convinced them she couldn’t eat another bite, her entire body was aflame, and she was on the verge of climax.
Only they weren’t letting her come. They would work her right to that razor-sharp edge then pull back just before she went careening over. It was both frustrating and exciting. Made all the more so by the heated look in their eyes as they watched her intently.
“I think it might be time for dessert,” Keegan suggested.
Before she could tell them she would be forgoing dessert, she realized he wasn’t talking about ice cream. He was talking about her.
Without fanfare, Keegan stripped her pajama shorts off, then hoisted her up onto the table the instant Kaden had cleared all the dishes away.
“Now this I could do every night,” Keegan whispered, his hands sliding over her thighs, pushing them wide.
Above her, Kaden leaned over, cupping her breasts in his warm hands, kneading her flesh until she was moaning in earnest. She was overwhelmed by sensation as Keegan’s fingers began teasing her sex, gliding through her slit, circling her clit. It was too much but, at the same time, not nearly enough. No matter how much she begged and pleaded, they maintained a steady pace, caressing her with only their hands.
“Please, Kaden … oh, God, Keegan. I…” She tried to thrust her hips upward. “More. I need more.”
“You want my mouth on you, darlin’?” Keegan’s sexy baritone washed over her.
“Yes. Please.”
“Mmm. You asked so nicely.”
She cried out when his warm breath fanned her pussy. She couldn’t see what he was doing, but she didn’t need her eyes. He licked her repeatedly, slowly tormenting with his wickedly skillful tongue, building her up once more.
It was all Bristol could do to endure. They assaulted her with overwhelming sensation, taking her to new heights. And the fact that there were two incredibly hot, sexy men focused solely on her made it impossible to ignore a single second of their wicked ministrations.
“Please…” she whimpered, dangerously close to imploding. “Make me come, Keegan.”
He growled, the vibrations sending shockwaves through her. But it was when Kaden pinched her nipples and Keegan thrust two fingers inside her while sucking her clit that she felt herself skyrocketing. Her insides coiled tightly then exploded in heat and light, the most intense orgasm of her life leaving her panting and boneless.
Thankfully, they were there, carrying her out of the dining room and into her bedroom. They both joined her on the bed, Kaden crawling over her. At some point he had disrobed, his naked body sliding sensually against hers.
Although she was still reeling from the shock of so mu
ch pleasure, Bristol wanted more. She needed to feel them inside her. One, both, she didn’t care as long as neither one of them left her.
Kaden was watching her, his eyes roaming over her face as though he was attempting to read her mind. She could’ve told him she only had one thing on it and that was to have him inside her. Now.
But she refrained from speaking. There was something else in those blue-gray eyes, something that sent a chill down her spine. He looked … not exactly happy despite the desire she could feel coming off him in waves.
Was he angry? Had she done something wrong?
Her nerves began to jangle wildly, insecurity threatening to choke her. Before she could ask him what was wrong, Keegan finally joined them, sliding onto the mattress beside her. With firm fingers, he turned her head to face him, his lips gentle as they fused to hers. It was during that passionate exploratory kiss that Kaden slid deep inside her. He went slow, giving her body time to adjust. All her nerve endings came alive when he began rolling his hips, penetrating her slow and deep. All the while, Keegan continued to kiss her.
Within minutes, she was once again riding that sensual high, hanging on by her fingernails as Kaden’s deep, rhythmic thrusts took her to the edge again. Her whimpers were muted, but they both seemed to understand what she needed because Kaden didn’t stop; he continued to make love to her until there was no turning back.
Bristol tore her mouth from Keegan’s as she cried out in sheer ecstasy, the orgasm coursing through her in a blaze of warmth followed quickly by Kaden’s deep, rumbling groan.
But they weren’t finished, nor was she.
Keegan traded places with Kaden, taking up position between her thighs. Bristol stared up at him, maintaining eye contact as he pushed inside her. She could see the strain on his face, knew he was holding back.
Bristol pulled her knees toward her chest, changing the angle of penetration, allowing him to go in impossibly deep. She saw the way his eyes glazed, hooded as he watched her face, never looking away.
She reached for him, sliding her left hand over his thigh while using her right to grip Kaden’s arm, anchoring herself between them as Keegan began to thrust into her. There was no lovemaking this time. He drove into her hard, fast. How he knew what she needed, Bristol wasn’t sure, but she didn’t question it. She gave herself over to the intensity.
“Keegan…” She was so close, and she wasn’t sure she was going to survive it this time. It was too intense, too—
Bristol screamed out his name, her head falling back as her body tightened and then shattered once more.
Some time later, she didn’t know when, Bristol awoke in her darkened bedroom. She was between them, her head on one shoulder, another spooned behind her. She tried to listen to them breathing, to see if she could determine who was who, but in this state, they were identical. She had no idea which was Kaden or which was Keegan. She could’ve let her hands roam, find those various scars that told her who was who, but it didn’t matter. They were here with her. Both of them.
For the first time in her life, Bristol felt safe, cherished.
And irrevocably changed.
Try as she might, she hadn’t been able to avoid it. Years had passed while she had kept her distance, but it hadn’t mattered. It had all been wasted time because she had fallen anyway.
She was in love with Kaden and Keegan, and she knew that hiding it from anyone was going to become infinitely harder, but she wasn’t ready for anyone to find out.
Not yet.
Not until she had a plausible explanation, one that wouldn’t make her fodder for the gossip mill.
Until then, she wanted to keep it just between them.
*
Kaden heard Bristol’s breathing change, knew she was awake.
He shifted closer, his hand sliding up to cup her breast as he remained on his side, facing her.
Her soft murmur was both sweet and sexy, a bit of encouragement as he drew her closer.
When she leaned toward him, he cupped her face and found her lips with his own. They remained like that, lips gliding, tongues melding, hands roaming.
This was perfection for him. Bristol in his bed, his brother behind her. The three of them together. Almost didn’t matter that it wasn’t his house, wasn’t his bed.
He’d never truly understood why this was what he was looking for but it felt right. He felt complete in that moment, never wanted it to end, although he knew it would have to come morning. The sun would rise, the day would begin, and life would get back to normal. It was unfortunate that time was a measurement of all things, but he knew that it didn’t matter that he’d fallen in love with her so quickly.
The difficult part was going to be in getting Bristol to see that this wasn’t something that should be hidden from the world.
Kaden didn’t want to live in the dark, didn’t want to hide what they had. He wanted everyone to know how lucky they were to have this woman, to love her, to cherish her.
But he’d sensed it tonight almost from the moment he’d stepped in the door.
Bristol was going to make this about sex. In doing so, she could purposely keep the deeper feelings out of the relationship.
Or so she thought.
Bristol moaned softly, her hand sliding over his chest, her nails digging in as a sigh escaped her.
It was then he felt the mattress rocking, knew Keegan had moved up behind her.
Kaden thumbed her pebbled nipple, sucked on her tongue. She was turned on, her breaths becoming more labored.
“Oh, God, yes,” she moaned, her knee rising as she lifted her leg.
Kaden kissed her again, keeping her close while Keegan slid inside her from behind. The two of them kept her there while Keegan loved her intimately, their bodies rocking, Bristol’s against his.
Yes, this was what Kaden wanted. He wanted Bristol right there between them every night for the rest of their lives.
Pulling his mouth from hers, he watched Bristol’s face in the darkened room, the way her eyes closed, her mouth opening on a moan. He peered at his brother over her shoulder. Blue-gray eyes identical to his own opened, staring back at him, and Kaden could see it there, too. They were on the same wavelength in that moment. What Keegan felt, Kaden felt and vice versa.
This.
This was what they’d dreamed about for a lifetime. Another chance for a happily ever after.
If only he could ensure the two of them didn’t jump the gun, didn’t send Bristol into a panic, perhaps everything would work out the way it was meant to.
Chapter Twenty
“It’s one thing for you to sneak outta the house before we can even say goodbye, but it’s somethin’ else entirely when you don’t come home.”
Travis looked up from his computer, watched as Kylie strolled into his office, her eyes bright with what he assumed was anger. If her tone was anything to go by, she was certainly pissed.
“I don’t sneak,” he told her, turning his attention back to the computer. “And how the hell do you know I didn’t come home last night?”
“Because I waited for you, dammit!”
Okay. He hadn’t expected that.
Truth was, Travis was starting to feel like he was on the outside looking in. And it was true, last night he hadn’t gone home. Instead, he’d snagged one of the empty rooms, caught a few hours of sleep so he wouldn’t risk waking the kids when he came in. It had happened earlier in the week, and he’d spent what few hours he could’ve slept trying to get Maddox settled.
“Travis.”
Releasing a frustrated breath, he sat back in his chair, closed the laptop lid, and ignored the report he’d gotten from Jessica James that morning. The instant it had come in, his heart had skipped a beat. She had an unconfirmed sighting of Juliet Prince somewhere in California. Nothing that would warrant him hopping on his private jet and heading out, but more than he’d gotten in months now.
“This has to stop,” Kylie said firmly.
“What
might this be?” he prompted, watching her closely. “You gonna waltz in here and tell me I’m obsessed, too?”
Kylie didn’t respond, but she didn’t have to. He saw the answer in her eyes. For the past couple of weeks, Kylie had been walking on eggshells around him, no doubt on edge after getting an earful from Gage. She thought he was acting crazy, too.
There was no denying that cut deep. As deep as it did when Gage had thrown it in his face. Looked as though both the people he loved, the ones he expected to have his back no matter what, had turned on him.
And yeah, maybe that was part of the reason he hadn’t gone home last night.
“I don’t have time for this, Kylie,” he bit out, reaching for his laptop.
Before he could raise the lid, Kylie’s hand landed on it, keeping it closed. “We’re gonna talk about this.”
“From where I sit, looks to me like you and Gage have it covered. There’s not much I can say, now is there?”
“I want you to find her,” Kylie bit out.
Shocked by the anger in her tone, Travis sat back, stared. “What?”
His wife sighed, standing tall and planting her fists on her hips. “I’m with you on this, Travis. I get where Gage is comin’ from, and yeah, I’m worried you’re gonna go off the rails. God knows you’ve done it before. But I want her found. I want her to spend the rest of her natural life behind bars for what she did to my daughter.” She exhaled sharply, her voice wavering slightly. “Hell, there are times I imagine my hands wrapped around her throat, squeezing until her eyes bulge out and she chokes on her last breath.”
Travis was on his feet when tears sprang to Kylie’s eyes. He could feel her tension, knew this was as hard on her as it was on him. And Gage, too. They were all suffering because they didn’t have closure for the horrific event that had rattled the foundation of their lives.
“Christ,” he muttered, enfolding her in his arms, pressing his lips to her forehead. “I’m sorry, baby.”
“Don’t be sorry,” she sobbed, sliding her hand over his chest, leaning into him. “I don’t want you to be sorry for being who you are, Travis. I love you. Not in spite of you bein’ hardheaded and sometimes single-minded to the point of distraction but because of it. I know you want to protect us.”
