Fighting Demon (Satan's Sinners MC Book 10)
Page 11
FOUR MONTHS LATER
I enter the city limits of Wichita, Kansas with a sense of being home. I’ve been gone for about four months, and my belly is growing bigger as time passes. Demon called me every day while I was gone, and I gave him updates on the baby while we talked about anything and everything we could. Many days, I would laugh so hard, I had to rush to the bathroom before I peed on myself, and just as many nights, I fell asleep to the sound of his voice. Somewhere along the way, I found myself falling even more in love with him. That anger I held onto for so long began to evaporate, as did his.
While I was away, we found out we’re having not one, but two babies. A boy and a girl. I think I freaked out more than he did because, come on, two babies at one time! In time, I was finally able to hear his side as to why he killed my father, and I don’t blame him any longer; however, I do blame Bones. Knowing that asshole is dead, has made me feel a fraction better, especially finding out Demon cut his tongue out. Payback’s a bitch. I’m in a good place now, and it felt freeing to forgive Demon. I guess my advice to Hacker wasn’t all bullshit. I’ve also talked to Jorga a few times since I’ve been gone, and it gives me some comfort knowing I’ll have a friend here.
I pull into the parking spot of my new home. It’s a perfect little three-bedroom apartment above an empty space, so I decided to go ahead and buy the whole building.
I climb out of my Hummer and meet the realtor just inside the front door of the building. “Ms. Holland, it’s nice to finally meet you in person.” I am happy to say that I am now legally Dancer Holland. Sarah Kennedy stayed in Missouri along with my past. From here on out, I only move forward, and I can’t wait to see what the future holds for me and these babies.
“You too, Mr. Kent.” We shake hands, and I happily take the keys after signing my life away.
“It’s all yours now.”
My smile is beaming, and that’s when my gaze lands on Demon leaning against the doorframe. “Thank you,” My eyes are glued to Demon as I reply to Mr. Kent, and I swallow hard at the sight of the man I’ve missed terribly, looking even better than the last time I saw him. He still has that long dark hair and matching beard, still has that hard-brooding sexy stare with those ice-blue eyes and that sexy dominating ora. Gah! He’s so damn sexy.
“Do you need any help carrying—”
Mr. Kent is cut off by Demon when he orders, “Leave.”
I bite my lip to keep my laughter from slipping out. God, I’ve missed him so much. Under Demon’s hard stare, Mr. Kent doesn’t hesitate to scurry away.
“Demon.”
“Dancer.” He saunters toward me. “You’re the most beautiful bitch I’ve ever seen.”
I bust out laughing. “I’m a fucking whale.”
Placing his hands on my extended belly, he tells me, “I missed the fuck outta you.”
“I missed you too.” I try my best to wrap my arms around his neck, but it doesn’t work, so I settle for his waist. “I love you, Demon.”
“I love you too, Dancer.” His lips slam against mine.
“You ready to do this?” Chayser’s eyes meet mine.
“Yep.” I’ve watched Tyler’s every fuckin’ move here in Kansas while Chayser has been going back and forth to Missouri. In the end, we decide it will be best to catch him in Missouri as he’s leaving work. If we got him at his house, we’re taking the chance his kids will find him, and even I’m not that fuckin’ heartless.
We park our bikes about a block away from the parking garage, and Chayser has scouted out every camera, allowing us to find and bust them out as we go. Waiting in the dark, we crouch down next to his car and check the time. About five more minutes. This guy is like a machine and timely.
It seems as if time moves in slow motion until we hear his footsteps approaching. Making sure our ski masks are covering our faces and the black gloves are covering our hands, Chayser and I are ready to spring. As Tyler rounds the car, we pop out of the darkness, and Chayser grabs him from behind. He screams, and I quickly pull my blade, jabbing it into his neck, cutting off his ability to make a sound…not that he wants to now. Blood leaks from the wound. I could slice through the rest of his neck, watch his blood pour out, spraying my body, but that would be too easy. I wanna have a little fun with the detective. While Chayser has his arms bound, I bend and grab his legs. We walk to the hood of his car and lay him on top. Taking my machete, I slice through his designer shirt making the buttons fly around us. His flesh is exposed and mine to do with as I please.
“We can’t be here long,” Chayser reminds me as I’m contemplating what I want to do.
“Fuck it. Let’s make it quick.” I stab my machete into the front of his neck and drag the sharp blade down his chest, not stopping until I reach his belly button. His skin flaps open exposing his insides and his body is drained of blood. I sigh at the sight of the crimson river flowing, pleased with myself and what I’ve done. Cleaning my blade on his slacks the best I can, I make sure it’s no longer dripping with scarlet, we can’t have a dripping trail following us. Leaving him dead and gutted on the hood of his car, we run, and we keep running until we’re back at our bikes.
After quickly starting them up, we’re gone from the scene.
SIX MONTHS LATER
Demon stands behind me with one arm around my shoulders and the other holding our son, Cruz. I have our daughter, Journee, in my arms as we watch the sign being lifted. A Dancer’s Dream is what I turned that empty building into. My own ballet studio where I can teach other little girls and boys how to dance.
“How did it go on the phone with your sisters?” I ask.
“It was good. They’ve decided to stay in Arizona, and Gritt offered them jobs to help with new intakes.”
Relief floods through me. It was hard on Demon and Chayser when they would call their sisters every week only to be denied. But after all this time, Maryanne and Rebecca have come around. “That’s great!”
“Yeah, it is. I can only hope they’ll keep their shit together and stay clean.” His lips press against my temple.
The company I’d hired to install my new sign leaves once they have it in place. It looks so good up there, and I can’t wait to see how many little dancers I get.
Strolling back inside, we lay our babies down in their playpen in the dance studio. “I’m so proud of you.” Demon presses his lips to mine.
“I’m proud of us,” I mumble against his mouth. Lust aches between my thighs as I snake my arms around his waist.
His hands fist my property cut. “We could put the babies to sleep—”
He’s interrupted by the sound of the door opening. “Should we come back?” Hanger chuckles.
“Yes!” Demon growls.
I slap his arm. “No!” I whip around, facing the door to find Hanger and Zoey with their three little ones. “What are you guys doing here?”
Zoey smiles. “We wanted to be the first to enroll our girls.” She’s holding hands with both Ava and Harper who are dressed in little leotards and tutus.
“Really?” I ask surprised.
Hanger rubs the back of his neck with the hand Damien’s not holding. “We’re having a BBQ next weekend, and we’d like for you to come.”
“Okay!” I grin at Demon. Even though he gave me my cut, I haven’t been allowed back at the club…I guess until now. Happiness encompasses me, hoping that maybe, we will all be able to move forward.
The door opens and Bear and Jacey walk through with their daughter, Kelcie. Then Ever and Writer with their baby girl, Xana. Next comes Chatty and Gunner with Destiny, and Hacker and Sierra with Letti. But the parade isn’t done yet. Doc and Daphne enter with Delaney followed by Romeo and Tinsley with Hope. Some of the girls aren’t old enough yet, but I love how they have come here to support me. This is Demon’s family, and I want them back as mine too.
“You guys!” Tears begin to fall. “Thank you.”
Sierra wraps me in her arms. “You’re part of our family, Dancer, and fa
mily forgives, family is there for each other.”
“I’ve missed you guys so much!” I cry.
“We’ve missed you too,” She whispers against my ear.
Chayser busts through the door. “Congrats, little sister!”
Behind him is a line of dancers from Stilettos. “Dancer!” They shout and come rushing toward me.
“Hey, girls! I’ve missed you.”
Hannah smiles and wiggles her brows. “We already dance on a pole, but maybe you could teach us a thing or two. You have an adult class we can sign up for?”
I laugh. “I’m sure we can get one started. Maybe get some poles set up in here that can disappear when the kids come.”
“Wait, there’s an adult class?” Zoey steps up. “I wanna sign up.”
“Me too!” Jacey hooks her arm around Zoey’s.
“Oh for fuck’s sake!” Hanger and Bear yell. The rest of us burst into a fit of laughter.
Chatty smiles. “Might as well sign the rest of us up for those adult classes too.”
“Okay!” I nod happily. “I’ll get to ordering the poles.
As I glance around the room, my heart falls a little. “Where’s Tink and Jorga?”
Demon wraps his arm around my waist from behind me. “They went to Arizona.”
I spin to face him. “What? Why? She didn’t tell me they were leaving.”
He shrugs. “Tink didn’t say why. Just told us at church they were leaving.”
I wave my hand around like it’s no big deal, but I’m upset she isn’t here. It had to be something important if she couldn’t be here. “I’ll call her later. Should we put some music on and get this first lesson started?”
“Yeah!” The kids scream and jump up and down.
Walking over to the stereo, I find a song, and everyone begins to dance. “You ready to marry me yet?”
My wide eyes snap to Demon, and my mouth is hanging open. “What?”
He pulls a beautiful princess cut diamond ring from his pocket. “You gonna become mine legally? Don’t like our kids having my last name and you don’t.”
My mouth flops open. “You wanna marry me? Like really get married?”
He stares off for a moment before his eyes land on mine once again. “I don’t want the tux and church and all that shit, but maybe Harleys, leather, and you on your knees after.”
I smile up at him. “I wouldn’t have it any other way. Put the ring on my finger.”
THE END
Are you wondering why Jorga and Tink went to Arizona? A novella will be coming in early 2020.
Dancer is resting in her hospital bed while I sit in the reclining chair. In one arm, I have our son, Cruz, and the other is holding our daughter, Journee. I still can’t fuckin’ believe I’m lucky enough to be their father. The moment I watched the doctor pull them from Dancer’s swollen belly, tears ran down my cheeks. It was the best moment of my life. Both babies sleep peacefully against my bare chest. Their little faces are nuzzled into each side of my neck as I softly hum a tune, breathing in their baby scent. Their skin is so soft, and their heads are covered with dark hair. My fuckin’ heart is full.
“I promise to be the best damn father to both of you. No one will ever hurt you, and you’ll have every fuckin’ thing your little hearts desire,” I whisper as I close my eyes, soaking in the feeling of being their protector. Nothing can compare to the love I have for these two babies. I didn’t even know a love like this could fuckin’ exist. It makes me even more pissed off at my own father. How could he be the one to hurt us? I’d kill a motherfucker if they tried to do anything to my children.
“Hey,” Dancer’s groggy voice pulls me from my thoughts. She’s been doped up pretty good since they cut her stomach open.
“Hey.” I give her a beaming smile. “How are you feeling?”
“Good and you?” Her voice is hoarse, and her eyes keep slowly closing.
Hold our babies tighter, I stand from the chair, and join her, sitting on the edge of her bed. “I’m fuckin’ perfect.”
“I always thought you were sexy, Demon, but holding our babies against your naked chest—”
I interrupt her. “Shut your mouth. You keep talking like that, and you’ll have another one growing in your belly.”
She giggles, and it makes my smile widen. “I love you, Demon. You’re going to be the best father.”
Leaning over, I kiss her forehead. “I love you too. I fuckin’ hope I am.”
Dancer reaches up to take Cruz from my arms. “He looks just like you.” Her finger traces his features.
“She looks like you.” I re-situate Journee in my arms and watch her sleep peacefully. “We did good, didn’t we?”
“Yeah, we did.”
