She and Bade had stayed around long enough to make certain the vampires had given up their pursuit of Evan now that their ringleader and most of his family had been permanently disposed of.

They spent their time enjoying getting to know each other, and when Bade had proposed to her after they stood up for Evan and Neoma as they exchanged vows, she had happily accepted.

This man was her soul-mate. Of that she had absolutely no doubt. He was her destiny. Her future.

  Her everything.

One month later, they married. Two months after that…they discovered they were pregnant.

Now, they were ready to go back to Bade’s cabin and ready themselves to welcome their new addition.

“Our cabin,” he gently corrected her and she huffed with feigned irritation.

“I’m not at all sure that I’ll ever get used to you being able to read my thoughts. It’s creepy,” she scolded him. “It’s bad enough my brother can get inside my head. Now I have to worry about you too!”

“That’s what you get for agreeing to bond with a Wolf shifter,” he responded with a playful nip to her earlobe. “But, no worries, my love. You’ll be reading my thoughts in no time. It just takes a bit longer for you humans.”

Ember leaned her head back against the curve of his shoulder and smiled. “I’m not sure I want to know what’s going on in there,” she teased.

“I’m pretty sure you can guess,” Bade retorted as he ground himself against her backside. “Come on, use Neoma’s gift and let’s head home. I’m anxious to have you all to myself for a while.”

Ember looked down at the coin held tightly in her hand.

So much like the first one Neoma had given her.

The only difference between the two was this one had the intricate stamp of vines intertwining around a heart instead of a dragon’s head.

Neoma had insisted she take it, telling her that she had been kind enough to use her wish to give Neoma her heart back by bringing Evan home, Ember deserved a wish strictly for herself.

Ember set the coin down on the edge of the fountain before turning and wrapping her arms around her mate’s neck.

“Let’s leave the coin for someone else,” she husked against his mouth. “I’ve got everything I could ever wish for.”
