His manly groans sent a second orgasm crashing over her and she came more powerfully than the first time. The intensity of her climax consumed her—just before she felt the warm gush of her watery come.
“Yes,” Sir murmured huskily.
Brie let out mewing noises afterward, totally spent by their sensual power exchange. Sir pulled out slowly, weak from the encounter.
She looked back at him and smiled, noticing the look of vulnerability in his eyes. It was the same look she’d seen that first night.
“I love you,” she said fervently, grateful for this scene of remembrance.
Sir met her gaze and smiled. “I never told you, because I refused to admit it to myself at the time, but that night I knew I would never let you go.”
Late in the night, after Penny left and Brie had checked on both children, she curled up against Sir’s naked body.
Brie lay there in pure bliss, thinking back on all the people she’d spoken to that evening. Their enthusiasm for her documentary left no doubt that this unprecedented collaboration was going to be something truly extraordinary.
“Best night ever,” she murmured dreamily.
“Exceptional,” Sir agreed, pulling her closer to him.
But, as perfect as the evening was, Brie knew things were not over with Greg Holloway. The man was used to getting his way, and he was especially cruel in his revenge whenever he didn’t. Brie knew he would be gunning for her after the spectacular way he had been dethroned in front of all his peers.
It gave Brie great comfort to know Mary had the protection of the Submissive Training Center behind her now. The trainers at the Center were a wall of protection that Holloway could not breach.
But something else needled at Brie’s heart, and she struggled to fall asleep despite her exhaustion. “Sir?”
“Yes, babygirl.”
“I missed having Rytsar and Faelan there tonight.”
“Their absence was unfortunate but understandable.”
She snuggled against him. “Still, I feel…” She searched for the right word. “…unsettled by it.”
“If I’m honest, I felt troubled by it, as well.”
Time passed slowly as she lay in the dark, fighting to sleep.
Wondering if Sir had succumbed, she whispered, “Are you still awake?”
“I am,” he answered in a serious tone. “However, I know what will help us both fall asleep faster.”
She turned in his arms to face him. “What?”
“We will make a stop in Russia before we visit Nonno and Nonna.”
An acute sense of relief flooded through Brie. “That would ease my heart.”
“Go to sleep now,” he commanded gently, kissing her forehead. “I need you to be well-rested for what lies ahead.”
