The Curse of Land's End

“I can only echo your father’s words, my dear. We love you very much,” Elizabeth said, hugging our son as she always had everyone of our three sons and two daughters since their birth.
Kywan beamed and took the book from our hands. “Now, if you two could sit down and relax, I would like to read the first chapter for you. And when my dear siblings and nephews and nieces arrive for our Christmas celebration, I will read the rest.”
Christmas was still two weeks away, but what better present could a man ask for than the beautiful family of five children and four grandchildren God had given him?
“I hope this means you are ready to settle and raise a family now,” Elizabeth said, giving him a meaningful glare.
“Yes, Mother. I am ready. In fact, I already have someone in mind… But that is a conversation for tomorrow. For now, I want you two to listen.”
Elizabeth and I nestled together enveloped by a sense of complete bliss, surrendering ourselves to Kywan’s thespian voice as he read…
“There was a time when the coast of Land’s End became a place where the dead could not simply be forgotten. The souls of those punished by the sea, cut from the world of the living for their malice to men, could not stay silent. Moans of tormented pain permeated every path, brook and cliff, their echoes reaching for miles everywhere.
The land surrounding Land’s End became poisoned, barren and empty. Every creature stepping there — animal or man — would suffer a slow and agonising death. Many of those brave enough, or foolish enough, to dare challenge the spirits never returned. And those who returned lived just enough to make their fates known, taking their last breath with terror in their eyes…”

About the author
Thank you fore reading my book. If you liked it, would you mind to leave me a review? As a self-publishing author, I find it very important to know what my readers think about my work. It helps me to improve.
I love ‘Pride and Prejudice’, and after reading hundreds of variations, I believed I could add to the JAFF world, inviting readers to explore more adventurous and mysterious stories inspired by historical facts around that period. In my first book ‘Until my Last Breath’, for example, I focused the story on white women’s kidnappings and women’s secret success in learning to fence.
The inspiration to write ‘The Curse of Land’s End’ — a story which combines romance, adventure and mystery — came to me while watching ‘Crimson Peak’. To give it an extra kick, I portrayed Darcy with strong religious convictions, raising the stakes at risk. Apart from some funny P&P variations which tackle the subject of ghosts, no one of them broaches the subject as I have done here.
