don’t want him tortured, or killed, I want him to know how it feels, I want you to suck him dry, humiliate him, make him suffer. I don’t want him to be capable of ever doing it again. And I want him to live as long as possible, so that every day can be torture for him.” The girl was snarling, her hands balled into fists at her sides. It was an amazing sight.

Belial couldn’t help but purr at this little girl’s rage; she could request almost anything, and it would be hers. In most cases it would be better to urge the girl to do the deed herself, but for a witch, summoning a demon was almost the same thing.

“A year.” Belial could see the confusion on the girl’s face, and was delighted to continue, “A year as my puppet. I’ll need a shell to do the deed anyway.”

The witch frowned, the first signs of doubt entering her eyes. “I thought demons couldn’t possess humans.”

Belial chuckled. “We can’t, we’re too…great for your fragile bodies. But that doesn’t mean I can’t spend time on Earth and tell you what to do. Oh, you’ll have your free will, and my power to call on too, no worries there. However, if you don’t follow my instructions to the letter, you’re no longer of use to me. Understand?”

  “A…year?” The girl responded near-breathless.

Belial drifted to the edge of the circle, reaching out a hand as if to stroke the girl’s cheek. “After what I will do to the boy that hurt you so much, he will wish for death, he will beg for it, he will seek it out, but he will not find it. He will not have a restful sleep, hounded by the memories I will give him, for 100 years.”

The girl was trembling, and tears began to roll down her cheeks. “Yes…yes, my body is yours.”

Belial drifted out of the summoning circle that wouldn’t have held her anyway, threading her fingers in the human’s soul, tainting it and creating an anchor to her. The girl’s tears turned to loud sobs as she endured a touch more intimate than any other. And then Belial, just out of reach of the material plane, mimed stroking the girl’s cheek, wiping away her tears.

  “Let’s begin.”
