Her shoulders sink, “Sorry ‘bout that. I’ll be good now.” Her head tilts, continuing to bite her lip and begging him.

He lets her sweat a little, allowing the importance of her decisions to weigh heavy on her mind. Waiting as long as he can, he concedes with a large smile. “Yes,” his arms swing open, “now…” she rushes over, as he says, “you can…” he bends forward and picks her up, “… hug me.” Her arms are wrapped around his warm neck and shoulders, knocking him back a step.

Her jaw digs into his neck, she doesn’t mean to, but acts on instinct — kissing him on the neck and jawline a couple times. He says, “Baby,” carefully placing her down, “I can’t do that. You’ve gotta stop tempting me. Only hugs right now, until, I know what I’m doing.” He spools back some, noticing her downcast face, “Only a hug, my love. To protect both of us.” He rests his forehead against hers, making a silent plea for her not to be hurt. “I’m not pushing you away, baby. And… I beg you. Please don’t push me away either?”

  “I could ever do that.”

He nods silently, “Remember you told me that later on,” changing the subject, “I think we need to have breakfast. We need to have breakfast… and… a rather long talk.”
