“It’s just fun and games.” We walk up to the water and look out over it. Tito should be here in 15 minutes. He’s probably going to be early though because he’s always trying to beat me here.
“So, how long did you have?” I ask looking at Fury. He just looks down at the boats in the water.
“Weren’t we talking about getting a yacht last time?” I’m trying not to laugh at his attempt of changing the subject.
“Pussy.” Ash mutters through the comms, “Khan, he had 3 days.”
“What the fuck,” I say as a smack him in the chest and he starts laughing.
“Bro, I haven’t seen you go longer than like 24 hours since I met you, 13 fucking years ago and you already had gone like a month.” I hate it when he makes a valid point. “And let me just point out the fact that I would have been fucking right if someone wouldn’t have suddenly found morals.” I glare at him, “Oh yeah, Billie told Lucy about the whole shower thing and Lucy told me.”
“What shower thing?” I hear both of the guys on the comms ask.
“Nothing-,” I groan “I’m not sure how much I really like the fact that you’re still sleeping with Billie's friend.” I pause as I look at him and then ask. “You seem to be keeping her around a lot longer than normal.” Trying to get the heat off of me this time.
Fury laughs loudly and then starts talking again, “Khan here, got mauled in the shower,” I’m gonna kill him, “she jumped on him in the shower and he shut that shit down.”
There’s silence on the comms for a full minute before I finally say, looking straight to Fury, “You know, I fucking hate you, right?” I see the smile on his face as the sound of bikes come in through the entrance. The reason why I pick the marina is because unless you come in through the water, there’s only one entrance, so we can’t be blindsided.
Tito pulls up to where Fury and I stand and we make sure to compartmentalize our conversation that we were just having and put on serious faces. Fury’s a scary fucking looking guy but is also one of the goofiest motherfuckers that I know. Tito takes his helmet off and can see a slight yellow/green tint on the right side of his face where I had struck him with the gun in my hand last time. That could mean one of two things; he could either know not to fuck with me this time or he’s going to try and retaliate. Fury walks up to him and Fury says it for me. “We going to have the same fucking problem this time?” It’s like I think it and it comes out of his mouth.
“Fury, I missed you last time,” Tito mutters to him and Fury stands his ground. “What you get sick last time?”
“I don’t get sick. Didn’t answer my fucking question.” He stares back at him.
“No,” he pauses and looks to me chuckling, “you know I had to test you Khan. I mean I have been the president over here for a lot longer,” don’t kill your biggest buyer. “Khan,” he says moving over to me, he sees that Fury moves his hand to his gun, “calm down, Fury, we’re just going to talk,” he has to sling his arm up to get it around my shoulders and he moves me down the floating dock just like last time, “Have you guys thought any more about our little deal that we talked about last time.” Yeah, the brothel, I nod to Blaze and Lex to start unloading the jeep.
“Tito, that’s not something that the guys and I want in our territory. Something happens and it’s coming back on us,” which is exactly why he wants it there. “I’m sure you can find a similar deal within your own territory.”
“You mean that your precious daddy Jeff doesn’t want it in his territory,” I chuckle as look back at him.
“No,” but that is a very large secondary reason, “as you know we do have an agreement with him that would be very detrimental for us if we broke it,” although if done right, and I brought it to him, he would probably be okay with it, but that’s what Tito was hoping for, “we’re just still not okay with selling women,” I tell him and shrug my shoulders. “Maybe, the next Prez will be, but I’m not.”
“Yeah, I heard you got soft.”
I hear both Ace and Ash in my ear, “Fuckin’ what!”
“What do you mean, Tito?” I ask him.
“I mean, I have this kid coming around my club asking all kinds of questions about you and your club.” Fuck.
“What kind of kid?” I ask stressing the word kid.
“I dunno, probably a few years younger than you are. Asking all kinds of questions. Saying that you’re shacking up and fucking his wife.” I think Tito can see the anger building in my eyes. Or maybe he can see the muscle on my jaw twitching.
“And what did you tell him,” I ask him through clenched teeth.
“Bender, fucking get Bullet on the phone right the fuck now,” I hear Ash say through the comms. Instantly I know that making this kid my VP was the best decision. “Billie’s fucking husband is asking Tito questions about us. We need to get an update on Billie.”
“Didn’t tell him too much, you know I could make sure he doesn’t find out too much. But it will cost you.” My expression doesn’t change. It will cost me approximately a brothel in my fucking territory.
“FUCK THAT GUY” I hear Ace and Ash say… I can guarantee that Fury is also thinking it but he’s standing silently with X as the guys exchange money for drugs.
“Tito, just tell me what the fuck you told him.” I’m glaring at him now.
“He was looking for you, so I told him where he could normally find you.” I can see my nostrils flare as he says that words.
I can hear Ash as he shouts to Bender to tell Bullet to go check on her now… “right fucking now… call back as soon as he gets there.”
Tito steps into me and laughs, “That’s for pistol-whipping me you fucking asshole.” Ace is losing his fucking mind through the comms. And he starts to walk up to the rest of the group. I follow behind him calmly as we walk back up. The guys shut the van doors and leave. X and Tito both get on their bikes.
As I walk up to him my words start, “Tito,” my words are quiet but deadly, and all I can think of right now is how I forgot to turn my fucking phone back on after leaving the desert. My words start out quiet, so low that I know X won’t even be able to hear them. “If he hurts her in any way… You’ll wish the only thing I did was pistol-whip you.” I don’t break eye contact until he has driven out of the marina.
“Ash, heard anything yet?”
“No, prez… sorry.” FUCK!
I motion to Blaze and Lex to go ahead and head back to the clubhouse. Then I pull the phone out from my pocket, slip the SIM card back inside, and turn it on. Seeing I have a new voicemail. It’s from Billie and she left it an hour and a half ago, but the most worrisome part is that it’s a four-minute voice mail.
“Hey,” her voice is quiet and she giggles, the only time I’ve heard her giggle like that since she’s been at the house is when she’s tipsy. I smile and then her words start coming out fast and jumbled “I know you’ve been busy all day, but I just wanted to call you. I’m lying down getting ready to go to sleep and it’s just a little weird to do it without you here.” She giggles again, “Lucy convinced me that it was a good idea to split a bottle of wine with her tonight, and I just got to thinking. I don’t believe in fate and all that bullshit but it’s just funny how you come into my life before all of this happens and then my life completely shatters. I dunno maybe I’m falling in love with you, oh fuck I shouldn’t have said that…” she pauses,
And at the exact same time, I hear Ash come back over the comm saying, “Khan, Bullet says Billie's not there but Ella and Lucy are. He says that there some blood on the floor in your bedroom”
But I’m still listening to the voicemail, “What the fuck is that… are you home?” Then she gasps and it sounds like something is rubbing against the microphone.
“Yeah, I’m listening to it now… she was leaving me a voicemail.” Fury looks at me, eyes wide. Walking over to me, “Ash, head over and see if you spot a black mustang Leaving the compound. Ace, go as well… split up see if you can find him. It happened o
ver an hour ago they’re probably gone, but who knows. And take your fucking comms out.” My hands are shaking with rage now, Fury takes the phone from out of my hands, pressing the speaker button, and continues to play the message.
She screams and there’s a loud hollow noise and then a thud as she fell to the ground. “Get the fuck up,” you can hear Brad’s drug-fueled voice as he whisper-yells at her, he knows that Lucy is in the house as well, that if Lucy hears him she will fight him until he leaves, “or I’ll make everyone else come with us.”
“No, puh-please don’t, they have nothing to do with this.” She whispers between sobs, that tear out my heart
“Get the fuck up,” he tells her, “unless you want me to shoot you.”
“No, please don’t.” My eyes burn and I’m not sure what this sensation is, “Then fucking get up and walk down those stairs without saying a fucking word.”
“Oh-okay, I will.” She whimpers.
“Shut the fuck up. Or I’ll knock you out and wait for your fucking boyfriend to get home and fucking shoot him in that face you like so much. See how tough he is with a fucking bullet in the brain.” He laughs.
“Please don’t.” She whimpers. “Brad, my head really hurts.” She says and I can hear the front door shut. And her whimper “Brad, I’m feeling a little woozy.”
“Shut up,” he mutters,
“I’m sorry. My feet…” She mutters and he laughs as another loud thud comes through the phone.
“Fuck, Billie, stop being ridiculous. Get up.” You can hear as he pushes against her. Fury looks up at me and then his face becomes shocked and quickly looks back down to the phone. “Guess I’m gonna have to fucking carry you back to the car.” Then a grunt, he’s muttering to himself, and then you hear a thud as I can only imagine he throws her into the trunk. Lastly, there’s a faint sound of the car starting.
“Dax,” her voice whispers and my mouth falls open, “before this cuts off I faked passing out. I’m leaving the phone in the car so you can track him.” Then the message cuts out. I find myself wanting her to say it one more time. Wanting to be able to say it back.
“Khan,” Fury says to me and I look up, but my vision is a little blurry, I’m not sure if it’s from rage or what, “she’s okay right now. She is so fuckin’ smart. She’s going to figure out a way, okay. You just have to find a way to get her, she’s going to stay alive until you get there.” I just stare at him dumbfounded, “Pull yourself together,” it’s only then that I realize that tears are what are causing the stinging in my eyes and my blurry vision. I wipe my face and take a deep breath.
“Give me the fucking phone.” Fury hands the phone back over. “Pick up, pick up, puck up,” I mutter pacing from my bike to 6 feet away and then back to my bike.
“Yo, kiddo.”
“Jeff, I need your help.” I’ve never said those words to him. I’ve said I needed a favor but I have never said 'I need your help.'
“Yea-yeah, what is it.” The shock in his voice doesn’t get past me.
“He took her.” Jeff whispers oh fuck to himself, “I need you to track her phone.”
“Dax, how do you know-,” I cut him off.
“She was leaving me a voicemail when it happened. She told me after he put her in the trunk that she was hiding it.”
“Okay, Dax. Don’t go in there alone.”
“I won’t.”
“Let us come with you.”
“No, fucking way Jeff, this fucking piece of shit broke into my fucking house.” My emotions are turning from sadness to pissed, the fuck, off and the motherfucker known as Brad is about to meet fucking Khan. “Attacked my fucking girl, threw her in the back of a trunk. This motherfucker is mine.” And then Tito is next.
“Daxton,”
“Jeff no, I’m not going in alone.” I look to Fury and he nods his head. “If you don’t want anything to do with it. I’ll fucking find him my way.” I’ll burn this whole motherfuckin’ city to the ground. And he knows it. “Jeff, I’m not letting it happen again.”
“Dax, just let us-,”
“What if it was Mary? What would you fucking do?”
“I’d break down the fucking door and shoot him right between the eyes.” He sighs, “What’s the number.” I rattle it off to him, “I’ll send you the coordinates.” They are back to us within minutes. Looks like the car has stopped in the run-down side of town, but luckily for us, we’re not too far. I punch in the coordinates into my GPS and Fury follows me out of the marina. At least I came prepared as I think to the contents of my saddlebag.
…Give him hell baby, I’m coming for you.
I had to play unconscious when the car finally stopped moving and Brad came back to the back of the car. I’m going to burn this fucking car to the ground… if I ever make it out of here. “Son of a bitch,” he mutters as he lifts me up and flips me over his shoulder. I wanted to cringe when Brad touched me, but I knew I had to pretend to be out of it. I hope that Dax gets my message. I had hidden my phone underneath the flooring in the trunk. Where the spare tire goes hopefully that will be enough.
He flings me down on the bed but with such force that my head flings back and hits the wall so hard that my conscienceless actually becomes a little questionable. I can feel him check my pockets he frisks me as I feel something cold and hard touch my wrist and then I hear the noise of the handcuffs closing. He’s a fucking asshole he knows that this is my biggest fear. He continues to frisk me as he lets his hand linger over my breasts and then he maneuvers to my legs as he starts running his hand up my thigh to my pussy my eyes flip open.
“What the fuck.” I shout at him and try to punch him only to have my hand yanked back by the handcuff. He laughs, but I punch him with my left instead.
“You fucking cunt,” He shouts the words at me. And I feel a blade pierce my flesh on my arm. I don’t wince instead I look him straight in the eye as I feel the blood drip down my arm. “You think you’re fucking tough.” He whispers to me, pressing the blade into my arm even further, but even though I feel every second of the sharp blade slicing through my muscle I don’t so much as flinch. “You think that because you’re fucking some big bad biker that makes you tough,” he laughs out. “You’re the same pathetic, worthless, unlovable cunt that I tricked into marry me 10 years ago.”
“What do you mean tricked?” I ask him and he laughs. Maybe if I just keep him talking Dax will get home see that I’m not there and come and find me.
“This was the plan all along.” He smiles at me, “Marry you for 10 years and then kill you for the insurance money. Well, I was going to wait for 15, but kinda shot that plan in the foot.” He shrugs.
“Because of your heroin addiction?” I ask him and he just looks at me smiling. His smile causes a sense of dread to course through my body.
“Yeah, anyway, No one will question it. I also wore you down over the years. I manipulated you out of the strong independent person you were to someone who needed to be taken care of.”
“Well, you fucked up a little. You just took out a new insurance policy on me.” And he smiles.
“Yeah, I’ll probably be questioned about that, but all I have to say is after the miscarriage I was worried that you would have some sort of lingering health issues and if something was to happen to you while I was out to sea it would be much easier to get everything straightened out.” He smiles and stands up.
“Trust me, all of this,” I motion around me to the area which we are currently in, which looks like a run-down motel room that hasn’t been taken care of in some time and then over to my wrist which confines me to the bed still, “makes me feel so much better.”
“Better about what?” He asks me. I smirk at him, and for a second I think I see that he’s afraid of what I’m going to say next. “Better about what?” He screams into my face. My face falls dead serious now. As I look at him.
“It makes me feel better about the fact that I’ve wanted to fuck Khan since the moment I met him right ther
e on my desk, in my office. There’s just so much passion between us.” His face nearly turns completely red, “Oh, and his cock… it’s just so much bi-,” this time everything actually does go black.
❖
"What’s the plan?” I hear Fury ask me through my comms as we ride through the city… splitting lanes, which I usually hate doing, but these fucking cars are in my way.
“Kill that mother fucker.” Fury laughs. “Let’s get there first, case the place, and then we can figure it out.”
“Got it.” He pauses for a little bit, “Is it weird for you?” He asks me and I try to figure out what he’s talking about.
“Going to save her?” I ask him and he laughs.
“Fuck no, you have a fucking hero complex… you’d save Tito if he was kidnapped. Is it weird with her? Whatever you guys are? Is it weird for you?” He’s actually talking about feelings. It’s weird especially when we’re pushing 100 down the freeway.
“I don’t even think about it when it’s happening, but yeah, I guess, it’s kind of weird. I’ve never given a shit about a woman. She told me she loved me.” I mutter out the last words and I sigh, “And all I could think is if I’m not able to say it back. Not run the fuck away but run to her and save her life so I can take her home and just be with her.”
“But you haven’t even fucked her yet?” And I laugh.
“Bro, it’s fuckin’ weird. She said it was like playing house without the good years.” And Fury starts laughing.
“I’ve known that you fuckin’ care about her, but I didn’t think it was- until back there.” I know he means at the marina, listening to the phone call, he saw the tears in my eyes, “It’s just like all of this is so fast, I dunno. I guess I can’t really talk.” He mumbles out the last part.
“Whoa, what?” I yell the words “we’re here.” I tell him as I can barely see the motel. “He or they are going to be expecting us.” I can see him nod his helmet as I glance down the street. I can hear wheels on concrete as a car pulls up next to me and I whip my Glock out of its holster. “Fuck Jeff. What are you doing here?”
