“I suppose I could do that.” I feed him another bite of cake and then lean down for a sugary kiss, licking the stray bit of frosting from his bottom lip and then sucking it between my teeth for good measure. “My vows are simple, I promise to kiss you every day for the rest of our lives.”
“Nuh-uh, I spent all week working on mine, yours had better be more than one line,” he complains against my lips between kisses.
“So, demanding.”
“But I’m totally worth it,” he counters.
“You are,” I agree.
When we manage to part, I shuffle off the bed to grab his vows and then get mine out of my bag as well. I’m not sure I’ll need to read them to remember, but just in case. Handing Jonah his notes, I lift the sheets and slide back into bed beside him, resting my head on his shoulder and cuddling close.
“You go first,” he says once I’m settled against him.
I take a deep breath, feeling an odd flutter of nerves and then tip my head up so I can look at Jonah, my husband, the love of my life.
“JJ, I think I’ve loved you since the first time our moms stuck us in a playpen together. I’ve loved you in so many ways—best friend, partner in crime, crush, all before the first time we kissed. But that first time our lips touched, I knew I’d never be the same. You own me, Jonah, heart and soul, and I promise to spend the rest of our lives making you feel as complete as you make me feel. I promise to be the keeper of time and orgasms.” Jonah gives a watery laugh at that, and a tear glides down his cheek, getting caught in his wiry, copper scruff on his cheek. “And I promise to love you every day for the rest of our lives.”
“Dammit, Lars, that was good,” he sniffles, crushing me closer to him. “It kinda stepped all over mine, but I suppose that’s fine.”
“You’re the one who wanted me to go first,” I point out with a smile.
“Okay, shh, my turn.” He uses one hand to open up his paper, his hold on me tightening. “I never imagined a man who existed who could be as perfect for me in every way as you are. Everything I’ve ever needed, you’ve always found a way to be exactly that, and I couldn’t begin to tell you what that means to me. Whether you’re my best friend, my partner, or my Master, you find a way to make me feel like a better version of myself, a more real version of myself, than I’ve ever felt apart from you. I promise to always listen, because you have a way of knowing what’s best, to never let our lives become boring or routine, and to love you with my whole heart every single day.”
My throat tightens, and happy tears burn the backs of my eyes as well.
“It’s me and you forever, JJ. Always.”
“Always.”

I know this was a first for some of you, and I truly hope you enjoyed their story as much as I did.
