  “You’re insatiable,” I tell her.

  “It’s only with you.”

  Chapter 30

  Lilly

Nate and I get home late after the hotel escapades ending our date. We wanted to share the same bed and wake up together later this morning, but it’s a lot to explain to a sixteen and eleven-year-old. So instead, we’re returning to our respective rooms at the estate. Hopefully I can sleep by the pool in the morning.

Nate stops at my door and steps in close. “Thank you. I know I’ve told you I missed you, but I’m so grateful you’re back. I’ll do whatever you need to convince you to stay.”

I smile at him. Tonight was incredible. “I had fun and look forward to doing that again.”

“Kate and Jim are open to staying with the girls, if you want to island hop for a few days. We can explore the volcano on the Big Island, do some shopping in Honolulu, or hang out on a private beach in Kauai.”

“What do we say to Katrina? It’s okay for her dad and the nanny, but not okay for her?”

“Our situation is evolving, and she knows that.” He steps in and kisses me, slowly and passionately. I’m seconds from inviting him into my room when he steps back. “I want to spend time with you alone while we can.”

I nod. “We’ll figure it out.”

“See you in the morning.” He smiles wickedly. “There may be a bite mark on your ass, so watch your bathing suit choice tomorrow.”

He pats me on the butt as he walks away with the swagger of a man who gets what he wants when he wants. Of course, I’m turned on.

I undress and stand in front of the mirrors in the bathroom. I have a large love bite on the underside of each breast again. My nipples are sore, and there’s whisker burn between my thighs. When I turn around, I can see the bite mark on my right butt cheek. I don’t even know when he gave that to me. But he’s right—I will have to be creative with my bathing suit choice.

I pull on sleep shorts and crawl into bed. I don’t even hear Bex come in but I feel her foot in my back at some point. Once the sun is shining, we wake.

“When did you come in last night?” I ask her.

She shrugs. “I wanted to know how it went with Daddy.”

I tilt my head. “What do you mean?”

“Did he beg you to stay?”

I think I did most of the begging last night, but she doesn’t need to know that. “I’m not going anywhere.”

She wraps her arms around me. “If you need to leave again, I hope you’ll take me with you.”

“Bex, your dad apologized many times and in many ways. I’m committed to staying as long as you need me. I promise. And, I’ll always be only a phone call away.”

“I’m just scared you’re going to leave your phone behind, and I won’t know how to reach you like last time.”

She does have a point there. I don’t want to scare her, and I’m not sure how much Nate has told them about their situation. “Those were especially crazy circumstances, but you’re right. That was my mistake, and it won’t happen again. In fact….” I get out of bed and find a notepad where I write my email down. “Now you have my personal email address,” I say, offering her the paper. “I don’t know about my cell phone or a more permanent number, but I’ll always have that address.”

She holds on to me tightly. “I hoped he was going to make you our mommy last night.”

I squeeze her back. “You have a mommy. No one can replace her.”

Her brow furrows. Love is more complex than she understands. “Can I marry you?”

I gather her in my arms and kiss her head. “I think we can be great friends always.”

That seems good enough for her, and she hops out of bed. “I’m starving. Leilani is making pineapple pancakes this morning. I’m going to go have some.”

“I think she makes them for you every morning.”

Bex smiles. She has Leilani wrapped around her finger. Little brat.

“Why don’t you put your suit on so after breakfast my mom can see how great you are in the pool?” I suggest.

“Okay, but you can’t go swimming until at least thirty minutes after you eat,” Bex yells over her shoulder.

“I know. I’ll meet you downstairs in a little bit.”

I stand and stretch, and the muscles I used last night are sore as are my nipples. I’m going to feel this for a few days, but that’s okay.

Katrina knocks and walks in in the same motion. I need to lock the door sometimes.

“How did it go last night?” she asks.

“It was good. What did you guys do?”

“I was awake when you guys got home.”

I turn to her, prepared for a verbal assault. We didn’t grope, and there were no sexual innuendos other than discussing my bathing suit choice for today. I cringe. “You were up late. Were you reading your mom’s diary?”

She nods. “I understand you and dad may want to get away alone for a few days while Uncle Jim and Kate are here.”

I lead her to the bed. “That’s a possibility. But only if you feel okay about it.”

“He was really wrecked when we couldn’t find you, and that was before the break-in at the house.”

“We like each other a lot,” I tell her. “I’m sorry you all were worried while I was away.” I’d like to change the subject here. “What do you think about your mom’s journal? She’s about your same age right now, right?”

She nods. “It’s good. She and my dad have kissed, and she wanted more, but my dad told her he wanted to wait.”

“See? Your dad was a gentleman. He’s still a gentleman.”

“I agree.” Katrina looks out the window at the ocean. “I don’t think he’d lead you on if he wasn’t interested in more with you.”

“You’re probably right. But we’re not married, and spending time together like that isn’t the same for adults as it would be for someone your age. Do you understand that?”

She sighs. “I do. I just thought you should know I’m okay if you guys want to go away for a few days.”

“Thanks, Katrina. We’ll think about it. Tell me more about what you read.”

“I had to skip over the part where she talked about my dad’s penis.”

I cover my mouth. “I should have warned you. I skipped that part, too.”

“But she was taking some of the same classes I am, which is cool. A part of me was jealous.”

  “Really? Why?”

“She had a friend in my dad. And he was the cool guy. She was the smart girl.”

“And like you, she was also very pretty,” I offer. Few girls understand how pretty they are at sixteen.

  “It’s different for me.”

“Hey, I talked to Francesca Sutterland’s mom, and you both are the same age. You’ve met her before?”

Katrina nods. “We were on a cover of Time magazine with some other kids that are part of ‘Tomorrow’s Tech.’”

“You two have a lot in common. When we get home, I think you should hang out. Maybe we can invite her over?”

  “She’s way cooler than me.”

I shrug. “I got the impression from Jim and her mom that she’s had some similar issues with kids at school. Maybe you should meet up together with Caroline Arnault-Sullivan.”

She nods. “I probably need to find a new school anyway.”

“We’ll figure it out,” I promise. “Go get your suit on and get some breakfast. Your dad’s going to sleep the morning away. He’s exhausted.”

“Please tell me he didn’t fall asleep during dinner.”

I grin. “I promise he did not.”

“What did you do after dinner? You guys got home really late.”

“We hung out mostly. We like spending time together. And I hadn’t seen him for a while, you know?”

“He’s very boring and talks about military stuff. I can’t imagine you having anything in common with him.”

I laugh. “Go on. I’ll be downstairs shortly.”

/>   She leaves, and I look through my bathing suits. I try on the bottoms, and each one shows the edge of his bite. I’m going to kill him.

He walks in and locks the door. “Bend over and let me look at that.”

I lean over the bed, and he rubs his fingers along my seam. “I like seeing my marks on you.”

He hooks his fingers and slides the bikini bottom down my hips. He places one finger and then a second inside me, and he pivots in and out, rubbing that magic bundle of nerves. “I heard your conversation with both girls.”

“You’re like a spy,” I manage, though I can hardly concentrate on what he’s saying. The weight of my breasts swaying as he slowly finger fucks me arouses me to the point that I can’t see straight.

He whispers in my ear. “You continue to be amazing with the girls. I love how focused you are on their needs. I want to be that focused on what you need. I want more from you than just fun or just a weekend, but we’re going to go slow, so I don’t overwhelm you.”

He pulls his fingers away to punctuate his statement. I feel so empty and needy. “Please don’t stop.”

“What do you want? My tongue, my fingers, or my cock?”

I’m panting and try to take the edge off by touching myself.

“Huh-uh. No touching yourself. Tell me what you want.”

“I want it all. I want you.”

I hear the Velcro of his boardshorts rip open. He rubs his cock around my clit, and I lean in, hoping he’ll push inside. “I don’t have a condom, so you’re going to have to finish me off with your tits or your mouth.”

“I want it in my mouth. I want to taste you and me together.”

“We belong together. I’m going to convince you of that.”

He pushes in, and I immediately tremble with an impending orgasm.

“I love how responsive you are.” He reaches down and strums my clit.

“I’m going to come again.” My orgasm hits me like a freight train. I collapse on the bed, trying to catch my breath. Once I do I get on my knees and he stands before me, his cock covered in my arousal. I lick the crown and can taste myself.

  “Are you ready?” he asks.

I nod and slide him into my mouth. I flatten my tongue, and he hits the back of my throat. He pulls out and does it again, and after just a few pumps, he’s sending stream after stream down my throat.

He lifts me with him onto the bed. “Fuck, woman. You just do something to me.”

“I need to sleep for a week. You wore me out last night and now this?”

He sits up and caresses my breasts. “You can sleep by the pool.”

I start to get up, and he pulls me to his chest. “I wasn’t in a sex-filled haze when I told you I want it all with you. I feel like you’re not quite certain I mean it. I don’t want to overwhelm you, but I know I love you, and I have room in my heart for you and more children.”

I’m shocked. What he’s offering is big, and it sounds wonderful… But I feel like I need to think carefully. He’s a public person, and with him comes a mess of drama.

  Do I want that?

I think back to my time with Mrs. Jones and how much I missed the girls—and I missed him. Ultimately, I’ve been living their crazy life for the past three years. I need to sort through what I want.

“I’m going to give you some time,” he says. “Get dressed, and let’s get down to the pool. I have every intention of letting you sleep because I’m going to sneak in your room tonight and eat your pussy until you come all over me, and tomorrow morning we’re going to the Anderson Estate on Kauai. We can hang out naked and enjoy everything—including massages, lots of sex, good food, and waking up together in the same bed. Did you know it’s against the law to wear clothes in Kauai?”

“Really? Will I be punished if I wear them?”

“Definitely.” He leans down and kisses me.

“I want to go, and it seems the girls will be good with it, but what about the assault team? Aren’t we putting people in danger if we split up?”

“I’ll talk to Jim. I think Jackson and Corrine are coming this weekend.”

“Then we can’t leave,” I protest. “We’re guests in their home. They aren’t babysitters.”

“Jim and Kate will keep an eye on the girls.” He smacks my ass hard.

  “Hey!

He rubs the spot, taking the sting away. “We can leave, and we can enjoy being naked together.”

Why am I fighting him on this? I sigh. “I’m here at your service.”

“I’m going to take advantage of that,” he says. “If only we didn’t have to use condoms…”

“I went on the pill after my last period.”

“You’re just telling me this now?”

  “You didn’t ask.”

He smirks. “So, I can come inside you?”

I nod. “As often and as much as you can.”

“Forget the pool. We’re going to Kauai now, and I’m going to fuck you as we fly.”

  Chapter 31

  Lilly

A little while later, I lay out underneath an umbrella with Kate, my mom and her nurses. Michael and Jared from the security team come in wearing board shorts, their muscles rippling and well defined.

“Oooohhh weeee, that is one fine man,” Jackie mutters.

“That’s a screaming orgasm if I ever saw one,” Patty adds.

I look over at Kate, and she’s grinning. “Ladies, rumor has it that you were looking for some pool entertainment.”

“If those men want to fan me with a palm frond and feed me grapes, I won’t refuse,” Jackie says.

My mom’s eyes are sparkling, and I’d swear she was enjoying the show. I text Trevor.

Me: Thanks for sending Michael and Jared over. The nurses are thrilled, and I think my mom is enjoying it, too.

Trevor: All I told them was that during their time off they were welcome to use the pool.

  Me: Thank you.

Nate and Jim walk out, with Jackson and Corrine behind them.

“Corrine! You guys got here early.” I rise to give her a hug.

“We heard there was a luau tonight and thought we’d surprise you.”

“Let me introduce you to my mom, Helen Duval, and these are her nurses, Jackie and Patty.”

Corrine comes over and puts her hand on mom’s hand. “It’s so nice to meet you. Your daughter is amazing.”

She turns to both nurses. “Thank you so much for coming. I hope you’re enjoying yourself. Is there anything you need?”

“We’re more than good,” Patty says.

“You just missed the show,” Jackie adds.

Corrine looks at me, her eyes wide.

“Two of Jim’s well-muscled men walked by in their swim trunks. It was a special request.”

Corrine shakes her head. “Wait until you see Kahuna tonight at the luau. He climbs a palm tree and plays with fire.”

Jackie fans her face. “Lord, help me.”

Michael and Jared come out of the kitchen with a tray of frozen drinks and deliver them to us, sending the nurses into a puddle of giggles.

Nate, Jackson, and Jim go back inside, but I can see them talking through the open doors in the sitting room.

“Corrine, why did you guys actually come?” I ask in a low voice.

“We have some wedding things to get done, but we thought we might check in on you guys and see how you’re doing. Viviana has disappeared, and Walker mentioned that they want to move in on a drug dealer.”

I tilt my head. “We knew Viviana disappeared; that’s not new.”

“They had a sighting of her in Paris. They think she either went to Casablanca or possibly Ankara, Turkey,” Corrine says.

I shut my eyes. “Both of those are hard-to-trace gateways to less-than-desirable parts of the world. Uggghh!” I growl. “The girls need this to be over so they can put it behind them.”

“I agree,” Kate adds. “The whole thing is surreal. I’ve had a lot of great conversations with V
iviana over the years. It seems so farfetched that she had anything to do with Cecelia’s death.”

I look around. “Will you hang on to the estate, Corrine?”

“I think so. We’ve done a lot of renovations, and we’re getting married here in a few months. It’s the place where we fell in love, so we want to keep it for a while at least.”

“What a romantic place for a wedding,” I say.

“It won’t be as fancy as Caroline and Mason’s.”

“Is Gabby hosting your shower?” Kate asks.

I’m not sure who Gabby is, so I wait.

Corrine shrugs. “She just got married herself over Christmas.”

“May I plan one for you?” I ask. “It may not be as fancy, but I’m sure we can do something fun. We can do it up at Meritage in Napa.”

Corrine’s face lights up. “I love that. Would you mind?”

  “Not even a little bit.”

I walk inside to look for a notepad so I can take some notes on the party.

Jim and Nate are still talking to Jackson.

“Carl and Nancy, our Texan friends from the casino Monte Carlo, show up in the database as hitters for the Tredivyatoye Tsarstvo,” Jim says.

“Fuck. In the back of my mind, I was sure they were FBI,” Jackson says.

“They were found dead in Budapest, and it seems related to our situation,” Jim says.

“Are they behind the approach on the yacht?” Jackson asks.

“If they were assassins, why didn’t they take me out?” Nate asks.

“We think they were looking for Mason and me,” Jim says. “They couldn’t finish the job in Monte Carlo because I stayed on the yacht to deal with the boat and gear we confiscated. They needed to take the three of us out together.”

“Do we think Tredivyatoye Tsarstvo is behind the pictures sent to Katrina?” Nate asks.

I look outside and see Katrina headed this way. I need to get back outside to head her off. I find the notepad and a pen and intercept her.

But I need to circle back on this with Nate. Something is up. I’ll need to find out what.
