When an Omega Loves

Page 5

by Giovanna Reaves

Just as Mario started walking again, two heads sitting in the front turned and looked at him. Pools of deep brown and hazel eyes stared and Mario’s mind went completely blank. He couldn’t move.

When both men stood, Mario stepped back as if they were right in front of him.

Their faces were similar but their overall look was so different from each other. Although one was taller than the other, both had a height advantage over him. Mario eyed the neatly styled dreads on one alpha, while the other was bald showing off his masculine and handsome face. He gulped hard, trying to think of what to say.

No fucking way! These men couldn’t possibly be his mates.

They are fucking hot but, they both can’t be for me!

Mario didn’t know any omega who had ever mated with two alphas. He’d heard of an alpha and a beta mating with an omega. But two alphas for him was either a dream come true or someone was playing a fucking prank on him.

Mario believed the damn gods had their ways of manipulating people, especially omegas. They’d fucked omegas over making them dependent on alphas. No matter what Simone said, alphas don’t have to deal with a monthly heat cycle or have someone claim them when they weren’t ready.

Alphas have it fucking easy as hell.

Still somewhat dumbfounded, Mario continued observing both men. They were dressed casually in jeans and shirts. The taller one had long sleeves, while the other wore a muscle tee. Toned and tan from head to toe, Mario was fascinated, but he still wasn’t willing to give into his curiosity so quickly.

“H…” He cleared his throat hating the slight squeak in his voice. “Hi, I’m your pilot, Mario Perrone. I’m also the company owner. And you are?” Mario swallowed hard again, to keep himself under control. No way would he show weakness in front of these two. Mario had to uphold his dominant persona.

  Heat be damned.

He cleared his throat again and held out his hand.

It finally happened. The one thing Bryce dreaded but knew would happen.

  Jaivon had found his mate.

What we’ve built together is over.

Bryce peered at his brother who couldn’t take his eyes off the omega. He understood why his brother couldn’t look away. Shorter than both of them, the man was very handsome. He had bright green eyes and dirty blonde hair. But even with the omega’s good looks Bryce couldn’t get rid of the dread he was feeling.

When the omega stepped forward and introduced himself, Bryce stepped back, hands clasped tightly behind his back. He wouldn’t stand in the way of his brother’s happiness no matter how much it hurt.

Jaivon shook hands with Mario. “I’m Jaivon DePenna and this is Bryce DePenna, my—.”

“You’re married?” Mario cut Jaivon off before he could explain. He shook Bryce’s hand as well.

Bryce was about to respond with a yes, but Jaivon answered. “Not quite. We’re brothers.”

Mario narrowed his eyes. “Brothers? My mates are brothers? How the fuck did that happen? How the hell is it going to work? I will not let you two share me like some fucking piece of meat.” He snarled.

Apparently, Bryce and Jaivon were shell shocked themselves, not commenting on the omega’s outburst.

Mates? Did he just say mates as in the both of us?

Bryce sniffed the air and just like before it was filled with the enticing aroma of an omega in heat. He’d been so focused on Jaivon finding his mate he did not expect the omega to recognize his scent as well.

  “We don’t share,” Bryce said.

“So you expect me to choose one of you as my mate?” Mario spun on his heel and paced the aisle. “I didn’t want this. Not yet. I still have a fucking life! Do you know what this means, finding not one but two mates? There’s so much I want to do.” Mario rambled then stopped in front of them. “I will not let you two share me... ever.” He continued to grumble in what sounded like Italian.

Bryce watched his little mate and realized that they had the same fear, but expressed it differently. Neither one of them was ready to give up the life they currently had, and he wasn’t ready to share Jaivon with anyone.

“Look, calm down okay?” Jaivon’s voice was soft and held up his hands. “Why do you keep saying that?”

“Saying what?” Mario folded his arms.

“That you won’t let us share you? Or think we’d want you to choose between either one of us?”

“There’s a lot we need to talk about,” Bryce said. “First, you need to understand that Jaivon and I have a special relationship.”

“Of course you do, you’re brothers,” Mario said in a snarky tone.

“There is that,” Jaivon answered. “But that’s not the kind of special he’s talking about.”

Mario appeared confused. He dropped his arms at his sides. “What other kind of special could there be?”

“This kind.” Bryce grabbed Jaivon by the back of his neck and smashed their lips together. He’d been waiting to taste him again ever since they’d taken off. Even with all the time past that feeling hadn’t waned.

When their lips connected, Jaivon rested his hand on Bryce's hips, closing off the distance between them.

In turn, Bryce wrapped his arms around Jaivon’s neck deepening their kiss. Much like the first time they kissed, a pleasurable shiver ran down Bryce’s back and settled at the base of his spine. With their mouths joined, he forgot about their audience and simply enjoyed the feeling of being in his lover’s arms.

“Oh fuck, that kind of special.”

They slowly separated their lips and looked at their mate. That kiss seemed to release some of the tension in the cabin. Maybe things would turn out okay after all.

“Now, that kiss puts a whole new spin on brotherly love,” Mario whispered. He still appeared shocked, but Bryce noticed the flushness in his cheeks, noting the omega might be slightly aroused by their display.

Bryce looked at Jaivon. They both smiled. “Yes, it does,” they chorused.

  Chapter Five

  Unfucking real.

Mario continued to eye the brothers in confusion.

Brothers in love were completely new to him and sort of hot, but again, he still wasn’t willing to change his whole life. Bryce's gaze shifted between Mario and his brother’s, apprehension written all over his face.

Shit maybe Simone was right after all that there are some alphas who didn’t want to be mated to an omega. But two alphas being mated to each other. Unheard of. And brothers as well.

Mario was tempted to look around the plane to see if he was really being punked. Mario got the impression from Bryce that he was coming between them. Little did the damn alpha know he wasn’t ready for relationships, commitments, or babies. Obviously the fates were completely wrong about their match-up.

Thank fuck for that! It has to be a fluke.

Mario mentally breathed a relieved sigh.

My heat has my head a little fucked up.

Mario looked at the brothers. He wouldn’t mind a little romp if that was okay with them. Being filled by two brothers would fulfill every fantasy, then they all could go their separate ways.

“All right, well.” Since Mario felt a little light-headed, he figured he should return to the cockpit. Surely, Simone was tired of flying alone even though she’d pushed him out here to meet his “mates.”

Mario dropped his gaze a moment so he wouldn’t focus on Bryce and Jaivon. He looked up at them again and clapped his hands. “Jaivon and Bryce? It was great meeting you both, but obviously this won’t work between us. Believe you me, I’m more than okay with that. Seeing you guys kiss like that was hot as hell. Perhaps we could be friends instead. Maybe even fuck budies down the line. I honestly misunderstood what was happening and I can safely say I’m not the one you’re looking for. Anyway, I need to get back to work.”

Mario wasn't sure how that in itself would work. Very rarely did alphas and omegas have totally platonic relationships. Especially when they were potential mates. Even he an
d Marko played around some before his best friend found his mate.

Bryce shook his head not looking away from Mario as he spoke. “He’s quite charming isn’t he?”

“Yes, he is.” Jaivon gave him a predatory smile that made his puckered hole quiver.

“I hate to tell you this, but that won’t work and you know it,” Bryce said to him. “You can try that bullshit with other alphas but you can’t with us. You feel the pull of this as we do. Your scent is overpowering. I'm having a hard time controlling myself. Honestly, we’ve tried to ignore it since we got on the flight. Especially me. I’m not ready to share my mate. But there’s no backing out. You belong to us.”

“Well continue to ignore it,” Mario snapped. “Like I said I’m not the one you’re looking for. Call it bullshit if you want, but it’s the truth. Just like you said Bryce I think your name is, you don’t want to share Jaivon with me or anyone else, so, I think we’re pretty much even. Have a nice flight,” Mario smirked and spun around to leave. He didn’t get far before one of the brothers grabbed his arm.

“Who the fuck do you think you are?” Jaivon yelled. “How dare you walk in here and make assumptions before even getting to know us. Are we happy to have found our mate? Hell, yeah, but I refuse to let you reject me and my brother without giving us a chance. You can try and deny or ignore what is happening. The pull and need to be near us will not disappear the second we walk off this plane. Look, we won’t force you to be with us, but with each passing second I want to devour you.”

  “As do I,” Bryce added.

Mario twisted his lips, trying to hide his reaction to their last statement.

“Don’t run from us, little omega.”

Little! I’m a grown ass man you, bastard!

Mario hated the way they talked to him. Yet another reason why he despised being an omega. He harrumphed. “You don’t want to know who the fuck I am. But here’s a tidbit, I’m not like the average omega who wants to be taken care of.”

“Then it’s a good thing we don’t want to take care of you,” Jaivon sneered.

“Yeah right. You say that now, but sooner or later you two will want to control me. I’ve seen the way some omegas are treated. Their alpha says they let them live their life according to their own principles and they’ll just care and support them. But later it changes and the one who is supposed to love and support them, grows tired of their omega wanting a career and only sees us as a fucking incubator, popping out one kid after the other. Well, you can miss me with that bullshit.” Mario snarled. “I have too much to lose and I refuse to let you or anyone else put me on a leash.”

  Mario spun around.

“Who hurt you?” Bryce spoke in his alpha voice, forcing him to stop.

“What?” He turned and looked at Bryce. He winced when he realized he was already able to tell the difference in their voices.

“You’ve been on the defensive since you walked out here so I want to know the name of the alpha that hurt you, so that I can kick his fucking ass!” Bryce said louder.

“Who said I was hurt by an alpha?” Mario was trying not to let the question get to him.

“I told you before,” Jaivon said in an even tone. “You can bullshit everyone else, but you won’t be able to do the same with us. We haven’t known each other long and you might not be compelled to tell us. But we can’t have a successful mating if you’re holding things back.”

Mario was about to repeat that he wasn’t their mate.

Bryce growled low under his breath stopping the lie from crossing his lips.

“What right do you two have to know anything about me?”

Bryce went to speak but Jaivon stopped him with a gentle hand on his shoulder. Out of the brother’s Jaivon seemed to be the more rational not like Bryce who wanted to argue with him every second.

“Fine, then we’ll tell you something about us to make you feel at ease. You already know we’re brothers, but we’re also twins. We’ve been lovers since college and our family knows about us.”

  “That’s all good and well…”

“Let me finish,” Jaivon interrupted him. “Although I’ve been looking for our omega mate, I’m scared as hell of what it could do to my relationship with Bryce. He means the world to me and I wouldn’t give him up for anyone, not even for an omega.”

“Which is why we should ignore the feelings and move on with our lives.”

“That would be nice, but it can’t happen.”

“Why not? You both don’t want me.”

Mario didn’t want to admit how much that hurt to say. Even if he didn’t want his mate, not being wanted hurt worse.

“I never said I didn’t want you,” Jaivon whispered.

  “Neither did I,” Bryce added.

“How can we not want our fated mate?” Jaivon said.

Mario scoffed. “That’s a bunch of bullshit.”

“I wasn’t kidding when I said I want to devour you.” Jaivon peered into his eyes as if looking into his soul. “You’re right. Some alphas are overbearing and lie to their omega to get what they want, but we’d never do that. We say what we mean. We’d never try to hurt you intentionally.”

“You say that now.” He didn’t believe them one bit.

Bryce reached out to touch him but snapped his hand back when he saw the scowl on Mario’s face. “Tell us his name.”

Mario was glad Jeanette wasn’t around. She probably sensed what was happening and managed to stay out of sight. He sighed aloud and shook his head. Why this asshole had to bring it up was beyond him. “You want to know why I don’t want a mate? Why I fucking refuse to believe your words?”

“It’s why we asked,” Bryce snapped.

“His name was Edward Price. When I was a lot younger and naive believing in true love, I fell in love and completely lost myself in him. I basically gave up everything to be his mate. I distanced myself from my family and friends because of him. My mothers were perfectly okay with the idea because they thought they understood what was happening.” Mario stopped to collect himself. He wouldn’t have brought it up if it weren't for the alpha voice. After all, he hadn’t even told his mothers or best friend the whole truth.

“And what else happened?” Jaivon asked in a soft tone.

“I’d gotten pregnant. The moment I did, Edward acted as if it was the worst thing ever. When he found out, he started leaving me by myself while he went out with his friends. He tried hitting me several times, but I always fought back. And…” Mario exhaled, fighting off tears. He wiped the moisture from up under his eyes.

“And…” Bryce asked, not really raising his voice.

“During one of our fights, I had a miscarriage. I never told anyone, not even my family. Once Edward found out, he wanted to be close to me again. I told him to go to hell and ran back to California. That’s when I decided I’d never allow an alpha to rule me or control my emotions. I’d make my own way no matter what. That’s what I’ve continued to do for the last six years. Building this company from the ground up, taking the advice of other omegas who’ve made themselves relevant and never looked back. I hadn’t even told my parents I was pregnant. But here I am unloading my deepest secret to two strangers.”

  “We’re not strangers!” Bryce yelled.

“You are to me!” Mario growled.

“So where’s this joker now?” Jaivon inquired, stopping anything else his brother was going to say.

“Dead.” Mario turned on his heel, walking away from the two men. He stopped right before he got to the cockpit door and gritted his teeth together. “Before you say anything, I don’t know how he died, neither do I care. What I will tell you is, I won’t be caught in between the two of you regardless of what the fucking fates say. Have a good flight, gentlemen.” Mario opened the door, slamming it behind him. He locked it tight, then sat back in the pilot's chair, inhaling deeply, then exhaling.

“So you met them?” Simone asked, sounding concerned.

  “Yeah. Th
ey’re not my mates.” Mario lied. He didn't turn to face her because she’d see the guilt written all over his face.

“Is that what you want me or yourself to believe?” She asked him.

“Just drop it, okay.” Mario didn’t want to think about the DePenna brothers anymore. Bottom line, he wouldn’t get caught in a situation he couldn’t get himself out of.

“You’re the boss.” She said, finally leaving Mario be.

They continued the flight in silence. A couple of hours later, Simone gave him full control and went to take a quick nap since they still had a few more hours to go before getting to Italy. Fine with Mario because it would give him time to think quietly.

Forgetting his pills was a pain in the ass. The heat could be remedied with one of two things. Finding suppressants or someone in Italy to satiate him. Mario loved both of those ideas because they had nothing to do with his passengers. For all his talk he was still tempted to go back out there and have them cool the heat burning inside of him. No matter what he’d first thought fuck buddies was out of the question. It was going to be hard to fight his hormones.

Mario prayed that he didn’t lose his mind in the process. The fates were really fucking with him.

How can I be mated to twins who are in love with each other? I swear I’m being punked.

“Did we just get rejected?” Jaivon asked his brother who was way too calm for his liking.

“In a way I think we did.”

“Why are you so fucking calm?” Jaivon snapped.

“I’m not, but I’m also dealing with a bit of guilt.” Bryce told him.

  “What kind?”

Bryce exhaled and glanced at his sibling. Ever since the omega left them they’d been on edge. “We’ve talked about it to death — me not wanting us to find our mate. I love you so much. The thought of seeing you in another man’s arms hurts me so deep I was willing to ignore everything I felt the second we boarded. But hearing his story, even though I think there’s more to it, I can’t help but feel ashamed of wanting to hate him before we even met him.”
