“And when we’re done, I’ll arrest you.”
“You won’t have to.”
With a shudder, he returned to the bed. She pulled him on top. Her hair smelled freshly washed, hinting of jasmine and honey, and for a few seconds he just lay there, breathing her in, feeling the life return to his head and heart. Maybe someday they could work together and help put an end to this war, but for now, she was right. They had each other.
