However, when the dense smoke gradually disappeared, Zero finally knew the reason why Hans did not make a sound. At the place where the trap had been set up, the ground of the cave had completely collapsed, revealing a large, pitch-black hole. The bottom of the cave was actually hollow, and when the not-so-thick ground was blown up by the explosives, it was natural for it to collapse.

Looking at the cave entrance that looked like a bottomless abyss, Zero did not have any plans to go down and confirm whether Hans was still alive or not. He turned to leave. At this time, a hand reached out from the hole, grabbed onto the military boot, and forcefully dragged it down.

Zero immediately lost his balance and fell into the hole.

  It's Hans!

In the instant he fell, Zero saw him. Half of Hans's body was blown away, and the only thing that remained of his left arm and two legs were fixed on the mountain wall of the cave. He was supposed to catch something to support his body as he left the cave, but instead he caught zero, and now he and Zero fell into the cave together.

  Falling into hell.

Half of Hans's head had disappeared, but this did not stop his eyes from capturing Zero's face. When he found out that he had no intention of catching zero, he became excited instead.

With the whistling wind in his ears, Zero did not hesitate at all. The muzzle of the sniper rifle aimed at Hans and grabbed his arm, firing at the part of his forearm.

In a short distance, the bullet from the sniper rifle tore Hans's arm apart. Su Yun seized the opportunity and stomped heavily on Hans's face, borrowing the force to descend even faster than Hans.

After pulling away from the monster, Zero did not aim and fired at the monster above.

Fires flickered in the cave, and the sounds of gunfire rang out incessantly. Each and every one of the sniper bullets penetrated Hans's body, and every time these little fellows passed by, they would definitely leave behind fist-sized holes of blood on his body. Hans shouted loudly as he was shot. He raised his hand that had his forearm cut off, and the bones and muscles at the wound suddenly regenerated at a crazy rate.

In less than two seconds, Hans's arm was fully regenerated. He roared loudly, and his five fingers that were grabbing towards zero suddenly extended explosively.

  Flesh and blood proliferation!

His five fingers were like thorns that pierced towards nothing, he was no longer able to shoot, he could only swing his sniper rifle horizontally, just barely able to block Hans's straight stab.

The Demon Claw like finger pierced into the sniper rifle, and the metal friction caused a sharp sound that tortured Zero's ears. He immediately let go of the sniper rifle and swiped it down the back of his waist. The M500 pistol immediately appeared in his hand.

He raised his right hand and shot out. Big caliber revolver roared. The 50 warheads carried with them over 3000 joules' energy as they instantly shot into the magazine with the sniper rifle. They immediately destroyed Allen's favorite hunting tool set.

Most of the stray bullets struck Hans's body. Zero was also affected, one in each calf and one in each shoulder. Blood bloomed like flowers, and as it fell from the sky, it drew out blood-red threads.

From falling into the cave to the fierce battle occurring in the air, the whole process took just over ten seconds. However, he had fallen to the bottom of the hole in just a dozen seconds. Zero looked down and was slightly taken aback. At the bottom of the cave, there was a small mountain of meat eggs that were trembling slightly. The familiar scene brought back Zero's memories. That was not the Gold Devourer cave he saw a few days ago.

Zero fell onto the meat egg and it suddenly sank down. The surface of the egg was like a skin that could not withstand the force of the drop and was torn apart. Zero continued to fall, but dropped into the unusually thick liquid. He did not know if it was the Gold Devourer's bodily fluids or what it was, but it acted as a great cushion. The meat eggs were like deflated balloons that were constantly being sacked, and the viscous liquid continued to leak out in all directions. In this layer of liquid, Zero rolled onto the ground. It rolled on some brown fecal-like soft mud, but fortunately it did not break its limbs.

Hans was out of luck, the sniper rifle had exploded and went off fire at a close distance, causing Hans's falling trajectory to deviate. The shockwave from the explosion sent him crashing into the walls of the cave. He did not know how many rocks he had smashed into along the way. The last part of the meat egg that acted as a cushion was eaten, so Hans heavily fell onto the ground.

His head hit the ground first, and the vertebrae in his neck were crushed by the impact. Following that, his body fell on the ground again. In that instant of contact, the huge impact broke all the bones behind Hans's back, and the spine and waist that were hidden under his flesh also shattered. directly kissed the ground intimately, and the violent vibrations caused him to temporarily faint.

Zero crawled up from the ground, looked at Hans's meat mountain and frowned slightly.

Even the explosives couldn't completely suppress the monster. He had to think about how to use a strategic missile to destroy the monster. He once again observed the structure of the cave and considered the possibility of sealing the cave, trapping Hans here forever.

As he walked, Zero suddenly kicked something. He turned his head and saw a round cocoon. The cocoon was yellowish brown, and its skin was as hard as a coconut shell. He looked at the cocoon, then at the shattered egg, and tried to figure out the connection between the two.

At this moment, the cocoon split with a "bo" sound. Immediately afterwards, countless hair-sized slits spread out. The cocoon trembled incessantly, as if something was about to emerge from it.

Chapter 26 - Life If Only at First Sight

With a "pa" sound, the hard cocoon shattered and fell to the ground. A black shadow suddenly shot out from the cocoon, bringing a strange jade-green light with it as it charged straight into the darkness above the cave. Then, as if he had hit something, all Zero could hear was a soft cry of the injured little beast. And then the green light fell down again.

It fell to the ground, bounced, hit the wall, and rolled to Zero's feet.

Zero looked at it in surprise.

In his line of sight, there was a plump body. That should be the belly, white as snow. There were four small, fleshy claws on their stomachs, and they were swiping at the air. Then, the creature tried its best to roll around, allowing its four claws to touch the ground. Unlike its snow-white belly, it had a light yellow body. The head and the body were completely connected, and the little ball of a thing had an exaggerated pair of eyes.

His eyes were as round as his body, and he was looking at zero with a "watery" expression.

He had heard that some animals took the first creature they saw as their mother. Zero didn't want to be a wet nurse, but it seemed that reality was not up to him to choose. It looked like a ball, with a pair of strange "Z" shaped ears on its head. Call it an ear. Zero doesn't know what kind of organ it is.

However, when the pair of ears twitched, a thin film of wings appeared. The thin wings vibrated at high frequencies, sending the small beast flying. It was only now that Zero could see the rhombus symbol on its forehead.

"Lala ~ ~ ~" The little beast cried out in joy and suddenly leaped into Zero's arms.

It seemed to be very attached to zero. Its round body shook with all of its strength, and it kept bowing towards zero's chest.

He picked it up with one hand and threw it to the other side of the cave. In this era where self-survival was a problem, Zero did not have the leisure to raise a strange creature as a pet. The ball like little beast was thrown onto the mountain wall and bounced back to the ground. It then let out an aggrieved cry towards Zero. He then continued to fly into the air and once again jumped into the arms of Su Bai.

Zero frantically pushed him out, but this guy was really sticky. He grabbed it and pushed it against the wall, trying to calm it down for a while. Unexpectedly, this thing was
really like a ball, and its body was extremely soft. With a slight push, the little beast's body immediately became flat.

"Lala —" It let out a low cry, but a yellow liquid spurted out of its mouth.

The moment the liquid touched the mountain wall, it was as if the hard rock was corroded by strong acid. It quickly melted, and a pungent smell similar to sulfur was emitted.

It seemed to be a new life that came from the evolution of the Gold Devourer. Gold Devourer's stomach acid was the strongest corrosive fluid in the world. It could melt composite armor, and now that it had melted the rock wall, it was just a child's play.

However, this made Zero think of a possibility.

Zero carried the little beast back. The little thing that had recovered its round shape looked at Zero and suddenly shivered.

Hans opened his eyes as his body recovered. Because the energy in his body was decreasing, his recovery speed was much slower. But following the recovery of his bones, even though his left hand was not reborn yet, Hans still stood up from the ground.

Because Zero was right in front of him, the smell of Zero's flesh and blood was stimulating Hans's senses. Hans was extremely hungry, he just wanted to tear Zero into pieces and swallow it.

However, he also discovered that there was something extra in Zero's hand. It was round and round, and it even had a pair of large eyes. No matter how one looked at it, it didn't look like a weapon, but more like a creature.

Naturally, Hans was unable to determine what it was. He did not care either. It did not matter if it was a weapon or a creature. Hans did not even put zero in his eyes.

He laughed sinisterly and walked towards Zero.

Zero looked at him expressionlessly, raised the little beast in his hand, and then put both his hands together. The small beast's body immediately became flat. It let out a "la la la" sound and a yellow water arrow immediately shot out from its mouth.

The water arrow fell onto Hans's body without any obstruction. Hans was startled, obviously unable to determine the meaning of this action of Zero's. However, he soon discovered that the parts of his body that had been sprayed by the water arrows were melting away like snow under the sun.

Hans still did not understand what was happening, but Zero was continuously pressing down on the little beast, continuously spitting out high amounts of strong acids. The little beast was simply like a strong acid machine gun, being squeezed by Zero to the point that both of her eyes were filled with tears, but unexpectedly, she spat out some acid at Hans's whole body.

The moment the yellow liquid touched Hans's body, it dutifully broke apart Hans's muscles, bones, blood vessels and fibers. Hans finally started to panic. He discovered that his sturdy body was not recovering as quickly as before. After several days of constant consumption, the energy within his body couldn't be replenished, but his body's rate of regeneration couldn't keep up with the corrosion of the concentrated acid. This monster that Zero could not kill, was now forced into a corner by a new life form that had evolved from a Gold Devourer.

This reminded Zero of the old saying of the Eastern Kingdom: one thing subverts another!

Hans roared in despair as he ferociously pounced on Zero. Unexpectedly, both of his legs had already rotted. With a slight exertion, his legs broke immediately. Both of Hans's legs were rotten like mud, he fell to the ground. He was like a fragile porcelain doll. The moment he touched the ground, his entire body immediately shattered.

The blood mixed with the meat and sprayed onto Zero's face. Zero finally stopped squeezing the little beast. The little thing also spurted blood all over Hans's body. It seemed to be extremely disgusted and immediately struggled out of's hands, floating in the air and shaking itself vigorously, throwing away the blood on its body like a puppy.

Su Ming wiped her face and looked at Hans with a sorrowful look. This monster had an infinitely regenerative constitution, and could be said to be a perfect organism. However, it did not want to be corroded by the new life form that the Gold Devourer had created. But no matter what, to be able to get rid of Hans, Zero had finally completed Old Jack's final task. He too heaved a sigh of relief.

However, what he did not notice was that a tiny portion of the Hans's blood that was smeared all over his body was actually absorbed by the fine bloody holes in his body. Naturally, Zero would not notice the phenomenon that required a high magnification microscope to observe. All he wanted to do now was go back to the base, take a bath, and then have a good night's sleep.

He hadn't slept for three days.

After the fight between the sniper and sniper ended, Zero felt that there was an additional point of evolution in his body, and his agility enhancement skill also showed signs of breaking through to the Second Order. Indeed, the power of the new era could be obtained with potions, but the more direct and convenient method was to stay on the border of life and death!

"Lala ~ ~ ~" Behind him, the ball-like little beast saw that Zero was about to leave and immediately flew over, looking at him pitifully.

Su Ling frowned as she looked at it, then at Hans's body, and finally sighed: "Alright, consider it as me owing you a favor."

The meaning behind his words was that he would allow this little thing to follow him. It was unknown if he understood what Zero meant, but the little beast let out a happy cry and laid down on his shoulder.

Zero shook his head helplessly. He just hoped that this guy's appetite wasn't as big as his parents'.

Just as he was about to leave, his heart suddenly thumped. An indescribable feeling swept through him like an electric current, and Zero suddenly opened his eyes wide and fell straight to the ground. The little beast was frightened. It looked at the zero on the ground and did not know what to do. It flew down to the ground and wanted to use its body to arch the zero.

Unexpectedly, the moment its body touched the zero point, the little beast immediately retreated.

Zero's body was emitting an unnatural heat.

When Zero woke up, it was already two days later. When he woke up, he felt energetic and his body was in a better condition than it ever had been. He had some doubts, but this was the second time he suddenly fainted. The first time he fainted happened two years ago, when he had just finished dealing with the butcher on Silver Tree City's mission. When he left the hospital, Zero suddenly fell into a coma of unknown origin.

The only thing in common between the two faints was that after the battle, he would fall into a foggy state after each intense battle. This was not a good thing at all.

However, now was not the right time to study this issue. After leaving the base for five days, he had no idea how it was going. With this question in mind, Zero brought the ball-like little beast back to the base through the passage opened by the Gold Devourer.

Two hours later, Zero arrived at the Z7 base's operational mining area. It seemed that due to Hans's destruction, the production at the base had not resumed yet. This indirectly showed another problem, and that was that the Parkland's valve had not taken over the base yet.

Fortunately, the base's power supply had been repaired. The gate that separated the base from the mining site rumbled and opened after Zero pressed the button.

However, after opening the door to the base, a strange scene appeared.

Unfortunately, the bodies of those who died had already been swept clean. The platform at the entrance of Workspace was as clean as it was before, but now, it was surrounded by dozens of surviving miners. He saw the person in charge called Jetto among them, who was currently holding his hands up high and saying something to everyone.

But all of these were not important, what was important was that Lea had appeared in the middle of the crowd. Everyone, including Jetto, stayed far away from her, as if she was a terrifying monster. Lea's head was lowered, the familiar figure was there, but he was no longer the familiar figure he used to be. This scene made Zero feel that it was familiar. It was more or less the same as two years ago when Hans and Rita were about t
o be expelled.

  Zero's heart skipped a beat.

His appearance naturally attracted the attention of others. When the door opened, everyone's gaze fell on him. Only Lea remained with her back facing him, and remained motionless.

"What's going on?" Zero asked in a low voice.

Jetto's gaze first fell on Ling'er's body, then shifted to the two large-caliber revolver by his waist, and finally said in a low voice. "Sir, we … We are preparing to expel Lea … "

  "Why?"

"Infected!" "Virus infection!" Jetto became excited and said: "Sir, look at Miss Lea's face. We don't want to do this, but the people from the Parkland headquarters haven't arrived yet. "In order to ensure everyone's safety, we have no other choice."

Su Yun silently walked over to Lea's side, and Lea lowered her head. Her golden hair hung down, covering her left cheek.

Extending a finger, Zero gently lifted Lea's hair. Under her hair, his previously fair skin was now a strange dark red. Black veined patterns appeared on his dark red skin, as though they were the blood vessels of a monster. Lea's left eye also changed. There was an abnormal amount of white in her eyes, but her previously faint golden pupils had now turned pure black.

Its black pupils had shrunk to more than twice their original size and they were embedded in the white of its eyes, causing Lea to look extremely terrified.

His hair hung down, covering the left side of his face that was shaped like a ghost. With a sigh, the beautiful girl from yesterday was gone. Old Jack's death, the mysterious virus had already buried Lea's heart deep into his grave.

"You saw it too, sir." She has to leave. " Jetto emphasized.

Zero nodded. "Yes, she has to go."

Hearing Zero's words, Lea's head drooped even lower.

"But I'll go with her." Zero seemed to be saying something insignificant, his tone was as calm as water.

Lea raised her shead in shock and looked at Zero. "Don't worry, I'll definitely heal you," he said, gripping her hand tightly. I promise! "

The look in Zero's eyes was calm and resolute. The golden eyes reflected the half of Lea's still beautiful face.
