“Sir,” the young soldier said. “She was seen on the outskirts of your beloved kingdom. It is said that she was entering the wooden lands. She was followed until she took to the path that is reported to lead to other realms. Unfortunately, beyond that, she was not followed.”

No, of course not, Kingsley thought. No mere soldier would take it upon himself to venture towards other realms, especially the Human Realm.

Kingsley nodded. So, she had made her way back to Fallen Fae Academy. He looked at the young soldier. “Thank you.”

“Will there be anything else, sir?”

  “Not at this time.”

The young man left, and Kingsley quickly prepared himself for the journey back to the Human Realm and Fallen Fae Academy. He had no idea what he would find. He didn’t even know what day it was. Had classes resumed? Was the Academy teeming with life as students went about their day, going from class to class, or was it quiet with only a few summer students?

More importantly, had any of the other Fallen Fae Boys made their way back?

If so, would fighting ensue if they were all to see each other? They were all professional soldiers who knew when to lay the sword down. The battlefield was the place to fight. Outside of that peace must reign.

  But then again…

As a precaution, Kingsley strapped his sword to his waist and headed out. On foot, he made his way to the outskirts of the land and stopped where his kingdom ended and the neighboring kingdom began.

He looked out at the land before him. There was no sign of life. No sign of war. The only sound 60

Disruption (Fallen Fae Academy #5) was that of the leaves rustling high in the breeze and the songs of the birds that nested in them.

From his vantage point, it was hard to believe that wars were being fought. And it was at times such as these that he wondered why they were all at war with one another to begin with.

He shrugged and turned to the forest.

Feeling confident that he would not come across any enemy soldiers, he crossed the border and stayed as far away from the battlefield as possible. After only a few hundred yards, he crossed a stream, then found the path that led to the human realm.

He ran to the opening, eager to finally see Harley again.

The moment he crossed over, he was stunned by the change in atmosphere; the smells, the heat, even the brightness. The sun was high and bright, indicating that it was late afternoon. It was far brighter than it had been in the forest and it took a moment for his eyes to get fully adjusted.

He then focused on his surroundings. It was as if the entire Academy had been rebuilt or remodeled.

It was all so beautiful and enticing, far more appealing than before. For the most part, the buildings were set up as they had been before. The administration building front and center, a row of academic buildings to its left and a series of dormitories to the right.

But the architecture was so detailed and while retaining that old world charm, there was just a touch of the modern world.

With all the changes, he wondered where Harley could be. Did she still share a dorm room with April? Had she returned to the apartment she had once shared with him? Or had she found herself her own dorm room. He remembered how small and crowded her dorm room had been.

He closed his eyes and tried to get a sense of her. He felt her and felt the sadness and desperation around her.

“What’s happened to make you so sad, my love?” he whispered into the breeze. While a part 62

Disruption (Fallen Fae Academy #5) of him hoped that her sadness was due to not seeing him, he sensed that it wasn’t that at all. Her sadness was caused by someone else. He also detected great tension. She was stressed and profoundly unhappy about something big.

As he walked through the campus, he took in the new sights, the new students, but also something else that was entirely new.

For all the beauty of the newly stylized campus, something heavy and disagreeable hung in the air. He couldn’t quite put his finger on it, but something had changed.

Where before he’d always had a sense of academia, of scholarly beings and of earnest students, now he just sensed death and a degree of finality to it all.

He instinctively took to the path that led to Harley’s old dorm room, hoping to find her there.

He knew that many students were in class, but it was difficult to conceive that with everything going on, Harley could simply go back to class as if nothing had ever happened back in the Faery Realm.

At the very least, perhaps April could direct him to Harley’s new dorm. The building was empty and deathly quiet, and it seemed unlikely she’d be there.

At her door, he pressed his ear to the hard wood and listened. Nothing. Bringing his knuckles lightly to the door, he knocked and whispered,

  “Harley?”

His heart pounded as he heard movement from inside. Would she be there? Would she be the one to open the door and find him standing there?

More importantly, would she know who he was and would she welcome him?

The doorknob turned and the door finally cracked open. All he could see was an eye peering through the crack, but just as soon as that eye focused on him, the door flew open.

“Kingsley!” Harley cried throwing herself into his arms. “Oh, my God! Kingsley. I can’t believe you’re here. I’ve been praying for someone to come join me here.”

He gratefully pulled her into his arms and held her tight. Sighing heavily, he kissed her hair 64

Disruption (Fallen Fae Academy #5) and breathed her in. All the stress and fear faded away as he held her, reluctant to let her go.

“I’m so relieved,” he whispered. “I can’t tell you how happy I am to see you.”

She pulled back just long enough to let him inside and once she’d closed the door, she embraced him again.

He looked lovingly at her, his gaze sweeping over her and taking her in. She was even more beautiful than he remembered. Her long hair flowed angelically around her face and she was casually dressed in faded blue jeans and a skin hugging black tank top.

She was sexy and alluring without even trying. Sensuality just exuded from her and there was no need to flaunt it.

For a long moment, he simply stared at her, looking at every detail of her.

“Stop staring, Kingsley,” she said with a giggle and a friendly tap to his shoulder. “You’re embarrassing me.”

  65

  Rachel Angel

“I’m sorry,” he said. “I’m just… Damn, Harley. I’m so happy to see you and… I mean, I was afraid that…”

  “Afraid that what?” she prompted.

“You remember me,” he said tentatively. A small part of him still feared that she didn’t fully realize who he was. “You know who I am.”

“Of course, I know who you are, Kingsley,”

Harley said. “What a silly thing to say.”

He cupped her cheeks and kissed her full on the mouth, eager to taste her.

“The last time we met, you refused to allow me to get close to you, to kiss you,” he said, still feeling the pain of her rejection.

She looked up at him. “Did I?” she said with a teasing grin. “Oh, right. Yes. I vaguely remember something about that. But you have to know that I wasn’t in a right frame of mind at the time.”

He nodded. “I assumed as much, but there was no way to be certain. I also feared that whatever had taken over you might still have a hold on your memory.”

  66

Disruption (Fallen Fae Academy #5) She shook her head. “It’s all been cleared away, and I’m sorry if I put you through a rough moment.”

“Rough,” he said with a huff. “Yeah, that’s an understatement. I was devastated.”

“Well,” she said softly as she brought her hand to his cheek. “All is better now, and I know exactly
who you are and I know precisely how I feel about you.”

“I’m so happy to hear that.”

“Good,” she said. “Because, in addition to remembering you, I’m thrilled to see you.” She kissed him, pulling him into a tight hug as she plundered his mouth with her tongue.

As they clung to one another, they shuffled their way to the sofa and sat back with Kingsley almost climbing over her.

“Damn, I’m so hungry for you, Harley,” he muttered when he broke the kiss. “You know, I think seeing you that last time and not being able to touch you made it even harder than not seeing you at all. You can’t begin to comprehend just how tortured that encounter left me.”

  67

  Rachel Angel

“I know, and I wish I could go back and be stronger. I wish I could have fought the spell that was put upon me, but I couldn’t.”

He ran his fingers through her hair and looked lovingly into her eyes. “That’s all behind us now.

The only thing that matters now is that we’re together, and I love you and you…” He smiled expectantly at her.

She smiled back, her eyes wide with joy.

  “And I love you, Kingsley.”

He sat back into the deep cushions and pulled her into the crux of his arm. “When you left me, I had no idea where you’d gone. I sent out a small army of men to find you, but for days, there was no sign. Finally, this morning I got word that you’d crossed over into the human realm. I don’t know why, but I was suddenly scared to death. I couldn’t help but fear for your safety.”

“You know,” Harley said. “Under normal circumstances, I would question your fear. After all, this is about the safest place I can be, right?”

“Under normal circumstances?” He said as he looked down at her. “The war is back in the 68

Disruption (Fallen Fae Academy #5) Faery Realms. What abnormal circumstances do you have here?”

Instead of answering him, Harley ran her fingers down his chest and slowly unbuttoned his shirt to expose his strong muscular chest.

“I’ve had enough talking for now,” she said softly. “I’m just happy you’re here with me and I want to show you just how happy I am.”

He chuckled deep in his throat. His anticipation and enthusiasm grew as she unfastened his pants and pulled them down to his ankles.

His raging hard-on was ready for her. His manhood stood hard and erect and so damned hungry to have her.

Licking her lips hungrily, she gazed at him with a naughty glint in her eye.

In response, his jaw dropped as he awaited her next move.

Harley brought her lips to the tip of his throbbing engorged shaft and kissed it lightly.

“I can easily say that all of me has missed you,” Kingsley said in a husky voice. His fingers made their way to her head, digging in through her 69

  Rachel Angel

hair to gently coax her to take more of him into her mouth.

She held back and continued to kiss the tender tip of his cock. “You’re so soft,” she whispered to the stiff member. “So hard, yet so tender and soft.”

Kingsley leaned back, sinking deeper into the cushions as Harley’s lips brought him to excruciating heights. “I’ve already waited far too long for you to keep me on edge like this,” he said.

“Please, stop the torture and take me in.”

Her lips parted, but barely as she allowed an inch of him in. The warmth of her mouth was overpowering, and he involuntarily tilted his hips up to push a little bit more of his erection into that warmth.

Finally giving into his need, Harley took him fully into her mouth only to slowly release him again.

“You taste so good, Kingsley,” Harley said as she kept a firm hold of his shaft with her hand.

“You’re so beautiful and delicious, I could just eat you up.”

  70

Disruption (Fallen Fae Academy #5) Before he could invite her to do just that, she took him into her mouth again and worked him up until he thought he was going to explode.

Grabbing her arms suddenly, he pulled her off him. “My turn,” he said. He kicked his boots off and stepped out of his pants, then shifted around to pin Harley to the sofa. “I’ve been hungering for you for far too long now. Don’t keep me waiting any longer.”

He plunged into the depths of her cleavage, reveling in the soft mounds of flesh on either side of his face. Pulling the delicate fabric of her tank top off her shoulder and down with his teeth to expose even more of her breasts, he then turned to kiss one beautiful orb then the other.

While his feverish hands worked to remove her blue jeans, he found endless pleasure in the warmth of her bosom.

“Damn,” he whispered. “I’d almost forgotten how delicious you are. I’d almost forgotten the softness of your skin.”

He found a nipple and latched onto it, encouraged to suckle harder as Harley let out an 71

orgasmic cry. Soon she was pushing her pelvis up to him, begging for more. Pulling back, he looked into her eyes, now hooded with arousal and lust.

“Passion suits you, love,” he said. “Always so beautiful, you are positively glowing when you are aroused.”

“Aroused and hungry for you,” she whispered as she pulled him to her. “Show me just how much you love me, Kingsley. Show me how you’ve missed me. Show me how much my body thrills you.”

Just hearing her give him such commands excited him further and he could no longer hold back. With his knee he gently nudged her legs apart. It didn’t take much coaxing to get her to open up as wide as she could.

Gazing down at her, at the very depth of her, now so completely open to him, he knew that it wouldn’t take long for him to climax. The euphoria was already there, bursting and ready to explode.

“Fuck me,” Harley said sweetly. The innocence of her voice contrasted so dramatically with the wanton allure of her words. It was so 72

Disruption (Fallen Fae Academy #5) unlike her to be vulgar, but the command nonetheless thrilled him.

He guided his throbbing erection to her warmth and was immediately overtaken by the sensations her body brought him. It was overload…

too much to bear… too much to hold back. While he hated the idea of showing such a lack of control, he couldn’t help it. His cock had a mind of its own.

It’d simply been too long and it wanted satisfaction… now! With only a few quick thrusts he was already there. And he was already regretting it.

His first sexual encounter with her in so long and he’d jumped the gun. But before he could apologize, he looked down at her and realized that she had come to the same quick orgasm.

“I’m guessing that we were a little overdue,”

she said with a giggle. She pulled him into her arms and cradled him. “It’s so good just to be able to hold you again.”

“Hold me all you want,” he said gently. “I’m not going anywhere.”

  73

  Rachel Angel

“What about the war?” she said. “Don’t you have to go back?”

He remained silent for a moment. Indeed, he knew that he would have to return at some point, but he wanted to put that off for as long as possible.

“I’ve left a few trusted men and women in command. For now, they will have to do without me. I have far more important things to tend to.”

Harley nodded. “I’m happy to hear that. I just might need your help around here.”

That wasn’t really the response he expected.

  “Help with what?”

“I’m not sure if you’ve noticed, but a few things have changed around here,” Harley said.

“Well, I noticed a huge change in the look of the place. What happened?”

“The dean’s glamouring was destroyed and I was asked to reconstruct it.”

He looked at her, an expression of complete surprise on his face. “You did all this?”

“Your surprise offends me, sir,” she said with a mocking grin.
“How you underestimate me.”

  74

Disruption (Fallen Fae Academy #5) He laughed and squeezed her tight. “Far from underestimating you, I just hadn’t realized how much you’ve perfected your glamouring abilities. This is truly the work of a master. No novice fae could pull something like this off.”

  “I’m glad you like it.”

“But other than the new appearance,” he went on, “I did notice a certain… I don’t know… like a new atmosphere, shall we say. The moment I crossed over, I smelled something… different. And not in a good way.”

“I know what you mean,” Harley said.

“Is that what you want me to help you with?”

  Harley nodded.

  “What’s going on?”

“Cici and Ashley,” Harley said simply.

  “They’re back.”

“Damn it,” Kingsley hissed between his clenched teeth. “I knew we should have destroyed them for good when we had the chance.”

“With the dean gone, they seem to be taking over. There are no rules, no one to keep them in line.”

  75

  Rachel Angel

“What are they up to this time?”

“They’ve begun recruiting… looking for dark faes to join them. I caught them earlier hosting some sort of hazing ritual. It was gross and demeaning, but that didn’t keep more faes from wanting to join them. Since then there’s been a steady stream of faes all eager to get on board with Cici and Ashley. It’s crazy.”

His jaw tight, Kingsley digested her words. It was just the sort of thing Cici and Ashley were capable of. After taking in a long, deep breath, he hugged Harley tight and looked into her eyes. “I’m here. Regardless of what you need me for, I’m here for you. And I would like nothing better than to get Cici and Ashley out of Fallen Fae Academy.”

  “Really?”
