Rosha expected that they would stay at the castle or in the training grounds, being so new to the guard. Surprisingly, she soon found himself holding a blade. Not like the ones they used during training, but an actual sword. A sword made to wound and to kill. A sword that he would have to take lives with. A sword that she could use to take his revenge on the man who had destroyed their town.
Glancing over at Darrion, she knew that he was nervous too. She didn’t know if it was lucky or unlucky that both of them were chosen to be a part of the king’s personal campaign to find the Red Knight and the Corsairs. They would be going in blind with no real battle experience. Thankfully the campaign had enough experienced soldiers, and hopefully, they would be able to take down the Corsairs with only a five hundred soldier company.
They were on their way to take revenge. Both for the King, but also for themselves.
