  “Yea me to,” I told her smiling I jumped in the shower while Hershey feed Lil Mel when I came out we laid down on the bed together with Lil Mel in the middle of us, both of us had a lot on our mind but we didn’t need to speak out loud about what we were thinking we just knew we both went to sleep within minutes.

  I knew hell was going to freeze over twice when I brought the baby up to the hospital, I knew it was wrong but I had to. I woke up to find Eddie holding the baby with a bottle in his other hand “Morning boo, how long he been up?” I asked standing up and walking to him “He just woke up, Mary called to check up on you. How you going to explain the baby?” he asked

  “I don’t know, one thing I do know is I’m not going to hide him like my father tried too,” I told him kissing him and the baby as I walked to the bathroom I jumped in the shower washing all the shit that I did the night before from off me, I jumped out wrapping a towel around me I walked in the room Eddie was laid out on the bed with MJ on his chest. I threw on some sweat pants and a t-shirt fixing my hair in a ponytail I walked into Lil man room and found a Burberry out fit my father brought him with the tags still on it, I walked back in my room taking the baby off Eddie and getting him dressed

  “Hershey where you at?” I asked as soon as she answered “I’m pulling up at your crib now,” she told me hanging up, I made sure the baby was warm and I left out the house with him going to Hershey car once I got the baby inside the seat and getting inside the passenger seat I turn to Hershey and thanked her for getting the car seat; “You don’t have to thank me,” she said driving to the hospital. When we got to the hospital both Hershey and myself got out the car, I knew the bomb was about to explode when everybody seen the baby, we got to the fifth floor where everybody was sitting in the waiting area.

  “Granny I need to speak with you,” I said walking up to my grandmother she looked at me with worry in her eyes“Okay Princess, whose baby is this?” she asked looking at the baby in the car seat

  “That’s what I need to talk to you about, before Ma come out here.” I said she grabbed my arm pulling me from the waiting area we walked down the hall

  “Ok what’s going on Princess?” Granny asked with a stern look

  “I found out last night that this Lil boy is daddy’s son,” I told her the look on her face scared me she looked like she was going to have a heart attack holding her chest she asked me how I found out about him;

  “Granny calm down, please breathe,” I said rubbing her back she took deep breaths to calm down she bent down picking MJ out his car seat

  “Bookie told me,” I lied my breath got frozen in my throat when I heard Mary voice

  “Princess I was looking for you, did Eddie tell you I called earlier?” Mary asked walking towards us, My Granny and I looked like we were both deer’s caught in some head lights

  “Yes, ma he told me, how’s daddy?” I asked trying to pull her from walking to my Granny

  “The doctors said he’s going to be fine, when you went get Lil man from Tammy?” she asked walking close to my Granny; I asked her to walk to the doughnut shop so we can bring everybody some coffee back

  “Let me see my grandbaby first, Ma let me see him,” She said reaching my Granny, Mary looked at the baby and the color drain from her face. Granny tried telling her to just go with me but Ma went HAM

  “Ma where did Mel Bastard child come from?” she yelled “Ma calm down, you knew about him?” I asked shocked

  “Yes, I knew about him, I knew when that Lil Tramp got pregnant and when she had him. She called me to rub it in my face that I couldn’t give my husband the one thing he wanted the most and she could,” Mary said tears rolling down her face, I ran to her and hugged her. This was the woman that raised me into who I am today, she the one that cleaned my scrape’s and cuts. She’s the one that told me never give up without a fight, and now as I looked at her she seem so broken so used. I knew my father did her dirty and she always stood behind him like a good wife does, but looking at her now I could tell this was the final straw for him and her.

  “Ma I didn’t know you knew about him, I would have never brought him up here I’m sorry,” I said wiping the tears that was falling from her face she looked at me and cried harder

  “It’s not your fault Princess, there’s nothing for you to be sorry about. How did you find out about him?” she asked

  “Bookie and I went and handled something last night and he kind of fell on my lap, you know what I mean,” I winked at her she gave me a half smile

  “You are your father’s daughter,” she laughed wiping my face

  “Mary I’m going to take him with me so you don’t have to see him, I know this is very painful for you,” Granny said standing next to us

  “Thanks Ma, this not the first time I’ve been around him. Mel brings him to the house every weekend,” she told us both shocking us again

  “When the hell I was going to find out about this grand child?” Granny all but yelled when she asked Mary, Ma put her head down

  “I don’t know Ma, I’ve been told Mel to tell both you and Diva but he said he wasn’t ready,” Mary said. Ten minutes after everything was cleared between the three of us Granny left with the baby, I went to see my father but I was feeling some kind of way about him which was something new to me because my father is my everything but at that moment I couldn’t stand the sight of him even if he wasn’t awake, I left after an hour of being in the hospital. Hershey and I went shopping for the baby and Lil man I told my Granny I was going to drop MJ some stuff off.

  “Yo I still think its crazy Mel old ass have a four-month-old son, and grandchildren that’s six months. That mean home girl was pregnant around the same time you was,” Hershey said looking at baby clothes in Macys I rolled my eyes at her

  “I know that Hershey Ann, can we talk about something else. I’m not even feeling my father right now,” I said shaking my head to clear it, Hershey wrapped her arms around my shoulder“We’ll get passed this Mama don’t worry, and when Mel wake up you need to tell him how you feel,” she said

  “I know, but this shit hurt like hell Hersh. I mean he was hiding him from me for four months. But that bitch he had him by knew who I was, she was like your Mel daughter Harlem’s Princess. Like she was studying me and shit,” I told her paying for our stuff

  “I wish I was there, I would’ve killed that bitch,” Hershey said getting pissed all over again

  “Nah I handled that, she gonna wish she was dead when she find out what happen to her brother,” I said smiling devilishly

  By time I got home it was dark outside, Eddie called to let me know he was out taking care of Business, I walked in the house with Hershey behind me carrying bags from Pathmark

  “I want a day at the spa paid in full by you,” Hershey said laughing

  “I got you Hersh, are you going to help me cook?” I asked walking into the kitchen she shook her head yes, she said she didn’t have shit else to do. She looked around asking where Trill and Major where at; I told her Trill went to see his Lil sisters in Brooklyn and Major went to see his sister taking stuff out the bags “Yea I been meaning to ask you did you know his sister, Trill said she lived on your mother block in Brooklyn.” Hershey said I looked at her

  “Bitch we know his sister really well, she’s our number one enemy,” I said

  “No fucking way, Asia is his sister? This is a fucking small world,” she yelled

  “That’s what I said, he was telling me what Asia told him when she called down there and I was sitting there putting two and two together I just came out and told him that I was the chick that was beefing with her, this trick was lying to him about everything.” I said washing my hands before I started cooking my Baked Ziti and fried chicken

  “Damn nigga did you save me some food?” I laughed crawling on the bed towards him he held a fork full of Ziti out for me

  “I just started eating Goddess, chill out,” he said laughing at me I wrapped my lips around the fork and got on his lap

  “Eddie I’m not trying to be no damn queen bee, all I’m doing is meeting with Paulie to pick up the keys and make sure it’s given to the right people. Nothing more nothing less, this shit runs in my blood” I yelled looking at him,
