She takes a step forward, cupping her tits. "But you paid to see these."

"Stop it!" I leap from the bed, invading her personal space. Her hazel eyes become rounder, her breathing shallow. But fuck, she's not the only one breathing erratically.

“Make me.” She lifts her chin.

That does it. I grab her by the waist with every intention to toss her on the bed and leave, but my body has other ideas. I capture her defiant mouth with mine, breaching the seam of her lips with my tongue savagely, impatiently.

She matches my fury stroke for stroke, bite for bite. Fuck. I didn’t expect her to kiss like this, as if it’s a battle for survival. She reaches for the buttons of my shirt, and with quick work, she unbuttons them all.

This is escalating too fast, and I don’t even know why it’s happening. But damn it if I don’t want it to happen. My cock strains against my jeans, and I involuntarily bring Daisy’s hips flush with mine. The contact only makes the craving worse.

She’s a Norm. I shouldn’t want her with this crazed fervor.

But reason seems to have left the train station.

I spin us around, and together we fall on Daisy’s bed. I’m on top of her, and her skirt might as well not even be there. It’s risen up, leaving her panties exposed. I rotate my hips, creating friction that’s more maddening than soothing. My balls are tight, but I clench my butt cheeks together to avoid prematurely coming in my pants like a twelve-year-old boy.

“Do you want to see them or not?” she asks between hot, wet kisses.

  “You know I do, Daisy.”

I don’t recognize my own fucking voice. I sound like a sex-deprived loser who’s never seen a pair of tits in person before. But that doesn’t stop me from peppering kisses down her neck and sternum until I reach the swells of her breasts.

Like an eager kid on Christmas morning, I unhook the bra’s front clasp and slowly peel away the delicate fabric. My cock twitches, and I almost come at merely the sight of the most perfect pair of tits I’ve ever seen. They’re big and firm, and her rose-colored nipples are as hard as little pebbles.

I cover one breast with my hand and kiss the other, running my tongue over the hot skin before I capture her nipple and suck it into my mouth. Daisy runs her fingers through my hair and arches her back, moaning loudly. I suck harder and increase the thrusting of my hips against hers, wishing there were no clothes between us.

“Oh my God. Don’t stop.” She starts to rotate her pelvis as well until we’re both mimicking what will eventually happen—but not tonight.

I want her to be stone sober when I take her. She needs to remember every single detail. She needs to fall hard, or she won’t break beyond repair.

Consumed by thoughts of destruction, I lose the feeble grip I had on my cock. When Daisy climaxes and cries out, my own release follows. I explode in my jeans, and fuck me if it’s not the best orgasm I’ve had in years.

Tremors rake through Daisy’s body and mine. I let go of her nipple to capture her lips again as I ride the last tendrils of my release. This kiss is tender and lazy, devoid of the manic savagery from before. It hits me right in the center of my chest, making it tight as hell. All my alarms are triggered, but I can’t stop savoring the Norm.

Tomorrow I’ll think about how I’m going to punish Daisy for making me lose control.

  Tonight I feast.

  Daisy

I wake up to the sound of relentless pounding on my door.

"Daisy, are you there?" Toby's frantic voice calls from the hallway.

I slowly peel my eyes open, fighting against my heavy eyelids. My mouth tastes funky, and there's a throbbing pain on my forehead. When the sleepy fog lifts from my vision, I note that I'm in my bedroom. I don't remember getting back to Gifted Academy. I have this vague notion that I was supposed to spend the night with Rosie.

  "Daisy!" Toby continues pounding.

  "Ugh. I'm coming!"

I throw my legs over the side of my bed. Shit. I slept with my cowboy boots on. What happened to me last night that I thought it was more important to take off my shirt and bra but not my shoes? I'm still wearing the skirt, but it's functioning more like a belt right now.

I pull it down and search for something to cover my girls. I spy my oversized sweatshirt draped over my chair. Perfect.

When I finally open the door, I find Toby pacing in the hallway. He whirls around and gives me a once-over.

  "What's the matter?" I ask.

"You tell me. Rosie has been calling since last night looking for you."

"She has? Why?" I frown, trying to piece together the missing details of last night.

"You were supposed to stay with her, remember? Then you vanished from the bar and wouldn't pick up your phone."

I run a shaking hand through my matted hair. "Damn Felicity and her magic brownies."

"So, how did you get back?" Toby asks.

  "I—"

The door next to mine opens. Rufio and Bryce step out, looking like a million bucks. Like an avalanche, my memories return. I kissed both Kent brothers last night. Actually, I did more than kiss Rufio. A familiar throbbing makes itself known between my legs.

I stripped for him, and we fooled around.

  Somebody kill me now.

Neither of them glances in my direction when they walk by my door. Their expressions are closed off, cold and hard.

Toby watches them go in silence, and when they disappear down the stairs, he turns to me. "What was up with those two?"

"I don't know." My chest feels unbearably tight. I didn't expect Rufio to show any kind of warmth toward me, but I thought Bryce would be different. Did I make a huge mistake yesterday by trusting him?

There's no question that I fucked up royally in relation to Rufio.

What the fuck were you thinking, Daisy? Stripping and letting your number one archenemy give you the best orgasm of your life?

"Daisy? Are you okay?" Toby asks.

  "Yeah, I'm fine."

"You've gone a little pale. Well, more so than usual"

I shake my head, regretting it immediately when the pain in my forehead sharpens. "Must be the side effects of Felicity's brownies."

"You should call your sister," he reminds me.

"Crap. Yeah." I walk back into my room, leaving the door wide open for Toby to follow me.

When he doesn't, I say, "You can come in."

"I can't. I have to see if Purple Delight is still where we left it yesterday."

"Oh shit. That's right. How are you going to get there?"

"Don't worry about it. I hope you feel better. We'll talk later, okay?"

  "Sure. Thanks, Toby."

He nods and leaves. With my phone glued to my ear, I close the door, locking it for good measure. I sense my actions from yesterday will cost me more than I can pay. I let those Idol boys see my weakness. Now Bryce knows I have a sister, and Rufio knows I have an unhealthy attraction to him.

"Daisy? Oh my God. Are you okay?" Rosie almost shouts in my ear.

"Yeah, I'm fine. I'm sorry about last night."

"I was worried sick. You just vanished. What happened?"

"Felicity's brownies happened. They were the special kind, remember?"

"Yeah, which only made me more worried. Apparently there wasn't only pot in them but also some type of aphrodisiac plant."

"What?" My voice rises an octave.

"You should’ve seen Poppy. He was furious. He almost punched Felicity’s boyfriend."

I cover my mouth, closing my eyes. That explains why I practically jumped Rufio last night. Why couldn't it have been Bryce instead? He's acting like he doesn't even know me this morning, but at least he never tried to kill me.

"I got home safe and sound, but I was a bit out of it," I tell her.

"How did you get home? I thought Bryce left with Toby."

"He came back for me," I say, hating the lie. But Rosie is already super worried; if I tell her Rufio was the one
who brought me back to campus, she's going to freak.

"That was nice of him, but you shouldn't trust the guy, Daisy. He's an Idol."

I sit on the edge of my bed, feeling so damn tired all of a sudden. "I know. Don't worry, Rosie. My shield is still very much in place."

Gosh, I'm so full of bullshit today.

My stomach grumbles, and I go in search of a snack. In dismay, I realize I've run out of everything. There are vending machines in the lobby downstairs. It’s full of junk, but that’s better than nothing. I hope Toby can get his car fixed today. Maybe he'll take pity on me and drive me to nearest grocery store.

I take a quick shower, trying not to think about Rufio and Bryce when my fingers brush against my clit, but then the memory of Rufio dry humping against me last night comes to the forefront of my mind. I can't believe he made me come so swiftly like that. My skin is hot despite the cold shower. I pull my hand away, even though I’m tempted to keep stroking myself. I refuse to masturbate while he’s in my head.

By a miracle, I didn't sleep with him. He slipped out of my room after we both satisfied our hungers. I hate to admit that, for once, I have him to thank for it. He could’ve fucked me, and I would’ve welcomed him with legs open wide.

  Classy, Daisy. So classy.

Ugh, even my conscience is being a bitch today.

I yank the shower curtain open, tearing the plastic cover off two of the rings.

  "That's just great," I mumble.

Back in my room, I eye my skirt and cowboy boots in disgust. What the hell was I thinking when I decided to dress up like a whore?

To compensate, I put on the most modest clothing I own: baggy sweatpants and the same oversized sweatshirt I had on earlier to open the door for Toby. I don't do anything with my hair besides untangling some of the knots, which were a pain. Fooling around like there's no tomorrow will do that to a person. My lips tingle at the memories. I don't know which Kent brother I liked kissing the most, Bryce or Rufio.

With a loud exhale, I force both of them out of my mind and stride out into the hallway. I can't waste my Sunday obsessing over them. I have homework to do, and I need to finish reading the mysterious book the librarian lent me. More than ever I have to find a way to block Phoenix from my head.

It's not yet nine o’clock, so the lobby is completely empty. Since this building is exclusive to seniors, I bet no one gets up before noon. I'm sure Idols have way better entertainment venues than hanging out at a cheap sports bar. It's with bitterness that I pay for my breakfast of champions—a coke and a bag of chips. Last night would’ve been epic—aside from the whole magic brownie incident—if it weren't for Bryce’s and Rufio's presences.

My stomach grumbles again, louder than before. I tuck the soda can under my arm and pull both sides of the chips bag to open it. As if my morning wasn't already bad enough, I completely rip the bag down the middle, and potato chips scatter everywhere.

  "Son of a bitch!"

I drop to my knees and start to collect my fallen breakfast. Five-second rule or whatever. I've eaten worse stuff than spilled chips.

The sound of potato chips being crunched alerts me to the arrival of someone. Great. I pivot in my crouch and glance up. Phoenix is standing there, wearing a tight polo shirt that accentuates his impressive chest and arms. He's wearing sunglasses, but the hard line of his mouth tells me he's not having a good morning either.

  Frigging great.

"I knew you were poor, but eating garbage from the floor is a bit low, even for you," he says.

"Thanks for that super-useless observation." I spin back around and return to my task.

Before I can get out of his way, he curls his fingers around the back of my sweatshirt and pulls me up.

"Hey, let go of me." I bat his hand away, but it's as useful as hitting a tree trunk.

"You're not going to eat crumbs from the floor. Not in front of me."

"Who’s forcing you to watch?" I finally break free and turn around.

"Are you hungry?" he asks instead.

"No. I like playing with food that's been spilled."

"Why are you always so defensive?" He grabs my arm and veers me back to where I came from.

"What do you think you're doing? Let me go." I pull against his hold to no avail. He’s an Idol, gifted with extraordinary powers, including more strength than I can summon.

  "I'm being neighborly."

“Neighborly, my ass. Just go ahead and say what you’re truly planning to do to me.”

He doesn’t answer, but I also don’t stop struggling the entire way back. It’s stupid. All my struggle is doing is making Phoenix tighten his hold on my arm. He’s going to leave a bruise.

We return to our floor, but Phoenix is determined to make me suffer his presence. If he gives me one more of his indecent visions, I might just burst into flames. I've been sexed up enough recently.

He walks right past my door and heads for his.

Oh hell to the no. I dig my feet into the floor. I don't want to be alone with him in his own domain.

"What are you doing?" I ask.

He pushes the door to his apartment open and forces me inside with a light but assertive shove. I take a couple of steps forward to put some distance between us, and then I whirl on the spot. Phoenix has already locked the door.

"Are you going to keep me hostage in your apartment? Is that it?"

"What the fuck is all this racket?" Morpheus walks out from his bedroom, wearing nothing more than low-hanging sweats that show off an impressive six-pack and V. I knew he was athletic, but does he have to look so good without a T-shirt on?

Never mind his messy, just-out-of-bed curly hair.

He stops short when he sees me standing in his living room. "What the hell is she doing here?"

I place my hands on my hips and glare at both of them. "I’d like an answer to that question as well."

"I'm feeding her. She was about to eat chips off the floor." Phoenix heads for the kitchen and opens the fridge.

"I don't need your charity," I spit back.

While I'm glaring at Phoenix's back, I feel Morpheus’s own murderous stare burning a hole through my face. I whip around to face him. "What?"

"Nothing. Since I can't sleep with you and Phoenix yelling at one another like a pair of Italian street vendors, I'm going out for breakfast."

Phoenix turns around, his arms loaded with breakfast ingredients: a tray of eggs, cheese, ham, butter. The works. My stomach rumbles loudly in anticipation.

Phoenix glances at me with a knowing smirk while Morpheus disappears into his room again.

Because I can’t leave things well enough alone, I pull up the barstool in front of the kitchen counter and say, "I thought only junkies and egomaniac celebrities wore sunglasses indoors."

Phoenix clenches his jaw tightly before replying. "I suppose I am an egomaniac celebrity."

"Don't flatter yourself." I roll my eyes.

Morpheus returns only to disappear again, this time out the front door. He doesn't even say goodbye to his roommate. I wish I could make a run for it, but Phoenix would be on top of me in a flash. I don't need to be manhandled by him again.

"You like eggs, right?" He begins to crack them into a bowl.

"Does it matter? You’ll cook whatever you want."

He lifts his chin and stares at me for a couple of beats. It's a little unnerving that I can't see his eyes. "I heard you had quite the day and night yesterday."

My spine goes taut in an instant. "What do you mean?"

Oh Lord. Does he know? Did Rufio tell him what we did?

  He chuckles. "Never mind."

  What a douche canoe.

"Ugh, you're so annoying." I lean my elbows against the counter. "What are you doing?" I focus on the mess of broken eggshells and batter all over the prep area.

  "It's called cooking."

With a groan, I jump from my seat and walk around the counter. "Step away from the food before you ruin everything
." I bump his side with my elbow and peer inside the bowl. Twisting my face into a scowl, I fish pieces of eggshell from the mixture.

"So that was your game? Poison me with inedible food?" I reach for the whisk, but it’s teetering too close to the edge and I end up knocking it to the floor.

Both Phoenix and I try to catch it, which results in a literal head-on collision. The corner of his sunglasses pinches my forehead.

"Ouch." I pull away, massaging my temple.

Unfazed, Phoenix bends over and retrieves the whisk. When he straightens up, his sunglasses are crooked, allowing me to see why he's wearing them in the first place. He's sporting a massive shiner on his right eye; the skin around it is dark purple and swollen.

He's a level fifteen Idol, which means someone stronger than him did that.

"It seems yesterday was quite eventful for you as well. Who did you piss off?"

With a hard clench of his jaw, Phoenix adjusts his sunglasses and walks toward the state-of-the-art espresso machine on the corner of the counter.

  "Coffee?" he asks.

I stare at his tense back for several beats. Why is he evading my questions when he could easily make me shut up? His behavior doesn’t match the arrogant guy I know he is. What gives?

"Yes, thank you." I watch him work the machine for a little bit before I continue. "You should put ice on it to get rid of the swelling.”

He freezes for a second before he reaches for the cupboard by his head. "Duly noted."

"It usually takes about two weeks for bruises to disappear on Norms. It probably takes less time for you, but if you’d like to borrow some concea—"

Phoenix turns around so fast that he's nothing but a blur. "What are you doing, Daisy?"

With round eyes, I reply, "Nothing. I'm just trying to be helpful. You offered to feed me, after all."

  "Who says I need help?"

"You're wearing sunglasses inside your apartment. It doesn't take much to guess you don't want people to know someone knocked you out last night."

With a jerky movement, Phoenix removes his sunglasses, tossing them violently to the side, where they crash against the wall. His usual bright green eyes are stormy and filled with rage. I take a step back, regretting saying anything. Why do I keep forgetting that Phoenix and his friends aren't regular guys?
