Golden Glories

I sat up, and spotted the boy nuns who were lying down on top of blankets on the floor. They were just waking up and stirring.

“When did you guys come in?” I said.

“After we finished our work on the wedding cake,” Sister Randy said. “We were quiet, so as not to wake you guys.”

“We were worried about how Sister Joe would be when he woke,” Sister Vaughn said.

“Oh my God,” Sister Joe said. “Even you and Sister Mack fucked me yesterday.”

“Hey, you should be grateful,” Sister Mack said. “It was creepy doing you with that blue glow. I’ll have you know it had some kind of buzz or something to it that made my skin crawl.”

“That wasn’t my fault,” Sister Joe said.

“We know that,” Sister Randy said. “It was probably that weird black lady with the head scarf and accent that put the hex or whatever on you.”

He had my full attention now. “Who? Tell me more.”

“You know what?” Sister Joe said. “I think it was that lady in the store. She grabbed my hand when I walked by and said something. And… and I remember now that there was a strange glow in her eyes. But that was in the morning of the first day and I didn’t know about all the supernatural stuff then.”

“That definitely sounds like one of Sandoval’s people from his island home,” Miss Lucy said, as she walked in.

  “My thoughts exactly,” I said.

“How’s the boy’s ass this morning?” Miss Lucy said. “It sure did take a pounding.”

“Oh my God, I am so embarrassed,” Sister Joe said.

“Don’t be embarrassed,” Alex said. “Think of how all these people cared enough to help you through a tough time.”

“Believe me, I am thinking of all those people,” Sister Joe said, then chuckled. “Actually, it was kind of fun.” He chuckled again.

“OK, funny boy, let’s check the goods,” Gloria said, then walked up to him and pulled back the sheet revealing his naked body. Sister Joe gasped, and she laughed. “It’s not as if everyone hasn’t seen everything on not just you, but everyone else too, at this point.” She looked over Sister Joe’s ass. “Spread your cheeks for me, honey.”

“Just pretend it’s like last night again,” Sister Mack said, then chuckled.

“That was just tacky,” Sister Vaughn said.

  “Really tacky,” Sister Randy said.

Gloria was aiming her small keychain flashlight toward Sister Joe’s ass and examining it.

“Absolutely remarkable,” Gloria said. “No redness or tearing. He’s not even swollen this morning. In fact, it looks untouched.”

“You mean to tell me that after all, that he’s got a virgin hole,” Sister Mack said.

“It’s not unheard of when you’re dealing with the supernatural,” Miss Lucy said.

“There’s an easy way to find out,” Forrest said, then put his finger in his mouth and up and in Sister Joe’s ass.

  “Ow!” Sister Joe said.

“Damn, that is tight,” Forrest said. “I barely got the tip of my finger in.”

“Well if you have any problems going to the bathroom or anything, let me know,” Gloria said. “But it sounds like there’s no damage done.”

“Hello, hello,” Bambi said, as she walked in with Pete. “I’d ask if everyone was decent, but it doesn’t really matter anymore, does it?” She chuckled.

  “Mom, be good,” Pete said.

“I’m always good, just ask Joe,” Bambi said, then chuckled again. “Don’t mind me, boys, you know how crazy I am. Anyway, I just came to see how Joe is doing.”

“Remarkably well, apparently,” Sister Joe said.

“He’s a virgin again,” Sister Mack said.

“Oh God, we’re not all gonna have to fuck him again, are we?” Bambi said.

“No, the blue light energy has been purged from his system,” Miss Lucy said.

“Not that my husbands wouldn’t come back to help,” Bambi said. “Pete’s daddies are very open-minded when it comes to helping those in need.”

“Your husbands were incredible,” Sister Joe said, then sat up. “They had me in positions I didn’t even know existed.”

“It was pretty wild,” Sister Mack said. “We popped in to see how you were doing at about that time.”

“And you were doing pretty damn good, brother,” Sister Randy said. “Bambi’s husbands were something else with their moves. That’s when the blue light glow around you faded by more than half. What they did had real impact.”

“It’s their yoga and Tantric training that helped a lot,” Pete said.

“Most definitely,” Bambi said. “You all should come to one of their workshops, they can be really healing and therapeutic.”

“I can believe it,” Sister Vaughn said.

“Not to interrupt,” Bella said, as he walked in wearing pink high heels and a matching feather boa over shorts and a T-shirt. “But if everyone is feeling good, we do have a wedding to prepare for.”

“I just popped over to bring my waffle iron and junk,” Bambi said. “I gotta run home and get ready. I’ll send my hubbies to help with setting up. Oh, and Poppy said that he’d bring some chicken, so folks can have chicken and waffles if they want. Bye, everybody—kiss, kiss.”

“Bye, Bambi,” everyone said, as Bambi left with Bella and Pete.

“I’d better go and get dressed, too,” Miss Lucy said. My clothes are over in Nikki’s place, so I’ll be around in case of anything.”

“You don’t think anything else is gonna happen to me, do you?” Sister Joe said.

“No, baby,” Miss Lucy said. “But if you’re going to train to be an agent, then you need to be ready for anything, as you now know.”

“What happened doesn’t make me unfit to be an agent, does it?” Sister Joe said.

“Nope,” Miss Lucy said. “Things happen, and you know that now. That actually puts you ahead of the game. Not many survive what happened to you. Most end up being turned to dust from that blue light energy.”

“So why wasn’t he?” Forrest said. “Why wasn’t he consumed? Shouldn’t he have burned up the minute the blue light was on him.”

I looked to Miss Lucy for an answer, but she just smiled.

“That’s a very good question,” Miss Lucy said. “It shows that our opponents have gained a new mastery over the blue light and are able to control it even more than we originally thought. And it also means that Sister Joe here has some major inner strength. I’m very curious about that as well.”

“Could he be a member of a blue light royal family and not know it?” I said.

“An underground faction maybe,” Miss Lucy said. “The thought did cross my mind, but I’ll have to do some research on that topic. And, believe me, I will. This came as a surprise to me on this case, and I don’t like surprises. Layton, I’ll call you when I get some news. Don’t expect to have to wait too long.”

“I won’t,” I said. “Unless… is it possible that Leticia may not have all the information about what’s happening with Sandoval?”

“It’s very possible,” Miss Lucy said. “But she’ll know where to go for answers. See ya later.”

“Bye,” everyone said, as Miss Lucy left.

The boy nuns on the floor stood to go.

“I’ll be right with you guys,” Sister Mack said.

“Ok,” Sister Vaughn said. “Don’t take too long.”

Sister Vaughn and Sister Randy left, and Sister Mack walked up to Sister Joe.

“I hope I didn’t squish you too much last night when we were going at it, Joe,” Sister Mack said. “Obviously I was probably the heaviest last night, and I tried to keep my weight off you.”

“No worries, pal,” Sister Joe said. “I was more surprised by other things about you. We’ve seen each other naked before but, dude, you’re not just a shower but a grower.”

Sister Mack chuckled, then spoke. “I’m glad you appreciated it, buddy.” He leaned across the bed
and gave Sister Joe a hug.

“Give me a hand up from here so I can help you guys finish the cake,” Sister Joe said.

Once they were gone Forrest looked at me and smiled.

“Typical days in the life of a secret organization agent, huh?” Forrest said.

“There’s nothing typical about these days,” I said, then sat up, looked back, and hugged Forrest and Alex. “Get up. We’ve got to help a wedding happen.”

While we were setting chairs up on the beach, Charity walked up to me and spoke.

“Uncle Jorri wants to talk to you a minute, Layton. It’s important.”

  Chapter 45

  Joining Together

CHARITY HELD MY arm as we walked to Jorri’s home. When we got there, Chip, Bogie, and Antoinette were sitting out on the porch alongside Nikki and Ginger Bread. The boys were in white shirts, jackets, and shorts. Antoinette was in a white, lacy short dress, and Nikki, Sassy, and Ginger were in below the knee white, lacy dresses.

“It’s not nearly as glamorous as my sequins from yesterday,” Nikki said, while showing off her ensemble.

“But you look lovely, as ever,” I said, then reached for her hand and kissed it before turning to Ginger and Sassy. “The two of you look very nice as well.”

  “Thank you,” Ginger said.

“Yes, thank you,” Sassy said. “I’m not allowed to have a lollipop until after the ceremony.”

“Can’t have her messing up that pretty dress,” Nikki said.

“And what about me?” Antoinette said. “How do I look?”

“You look cute enough to eat,” I said, then smiled. After waving to everyone, I went inside to see Jorri.

Jorri stood in the living room dressed in not just a kilt but full Scottish finery.

  “Nice,” I said.

“My Dad was Scottish, and our family hails from there,” Jorri said, then held aloft his son’s dog tags that he still wore. “I can’t forget him.”

  “No, Sir,” I said.

“Layton, my son isn’t here to walk me down the aisle, and my brother and sister-in-law can’t make it. They were called away on business by your people. Being that you were a soldier and all, like my boy was, I wondered if you’d do me the honor of walking me to the arch.”

“It truly would be an honor,” I said, then ran my hand along his cheek. “You’ve trimmed your beard—looks good.”

“Thanks,” Jorri said, fiddling nervously with his jacket. “I can’t believe that at my age I’m nervous.”

“I’m sure everyone gets the jitters. Just focus on the wedding night to come if you get too nervous.”

Jorri laughed, then spoke. “That’ll be good for sure. I went and helped with that nun boy last night, but I made sure to call my man and get his permission first. He said it was alright, since it was sort of an urgent matter, seeing as how poor Sister Joe could’ve died and all.”

“Yeah,” I said. “Apparently most people don’t survive what he went through. Thank God there were lots of people around who were willing to help.”

Jorri laughed again, then stopped and spoke. “I don’t mean to laugh, but damn that was crazy. The way the boy couldn’t get enough, it was clear something supernatural was happening. Makes me glad you and your people are in the world to help. And you can count on us down here to lend a hand if ever you need it.”

“A hand or various other organs, huh?” I laughed.

“Hell, Bambi even brought out the strap-on,” Jorri said, then we both laughed.

“Jorri, do you know if whatever your brother was called away to work on had to do with the blue light—the same blue light that affected Sister Joe.”

“Layton, I can’t say for sure, as he didn’t give me any details, but he and his wife work with all kinds of energy sources. They measure them, study ‘em, and look at the aftermath sometimes. So, I wouldn’t be surprised if they’ve been called in to look at the blue light stuff. Only it won’t be here, otherwise they wouldn’t be missing my nuptials.”

“True,” I said. “Well, no need to worry about all that on your special day. However, I’d better go get dressed.”

When I went back outside Norris aka Ebony was talking to Ginger, Charity, Sassy, and the rest of the group.

“Layton, I heard that you kept our little three-legged wonder dog on at the estate,” Norris said.

“How could we let that lil sweetheart leave?” I said. “That’s a great dog.”

  “Lucky dog too,” Charity said.

“Don’t we know it,” Norris said. “That’s why I featured him in the country song I wrote.”

“Will you sing your song for us, Mr. Norris?” Bogie said.

“Sure, I’d love to,” Norris said.

I stayed long enough to hear the song, then applauded and rushed off to change. Forrest and Alex were already at the yurt and rushing me to hurry when I got there. In no time we were all back outside, I had gotten Jorri, and we were looking at the many rows of chairs occupied by well-wishers. The kids, along with Nikki, Sassy, and Ginger, were walking down the aisle in front of us.

“Your man’s even better looking in real life, Jorri,” I whispered in Jorri’s ear.

While Jorri chuckled, I looked at his groom under the white arch. The man was tall and lean with jet black hair, a perfect tan, and green eyes that lit up when he smiled.

“I’m a lucky man,” Jorri said.

“Both of you are. He’s got it bad for you, Jorri, I can see it in his eyes.”

“Stop, you’re gonna make me blush, and it’s unbecoming at my age.”

I smiled. Randall walked up to the arch and started to sing, and I led Jorri down the aisle. When we passed Bella, who wore a bright pink boa and pink heels with a man’s suit, I smiled again. Braeden, Pete, and Don sat next to him. Everyone was at the ceremony—Granny in a long floral print dress, sat in a row with Miss Lucy, Buck, and Clay. My guys were in a row in front of them, with Charity, Poppy, and Poppy’s mom. As I looked around, I recognized other familiar faces such as the boy nuns, Bambi, her husbands, and Babette.

The ceremony was short and sweet. When the grooms kissed everyone clapped and cheered. As attendees lined up to congratulate the new spouses, I spotted someone approaching Charity, and walked over to them. The man was tan and skinny with curly, shoulder-length brown hair, and golden brown eyes. He wore a brown suit with flip-flops. Charity looked at the man and smiled. In response to her smile, the man bent down in front of her, and kissed her tummy then spoke to it.

“Hi there lil ones, this is one of your four daddies, Linus.” He then hugged Charity and kissed her.

“Linus, I’m so glad you made it,” Charity said.

“How could I miss Uncle Jorri’s big day?” Linus said, then smiled.

“At long last we meet,” I said to Linus, and shook his hand. “I’m Layton Shayne, one of the babies’ four dads.”

“Layton!” Linus said, then grabbed me and pulled me in for a big hug. “Wow, you’re buff.” He looked over my shoulder. “Not as big and buff as you, Forrest, but let’s just say the kids are gonna be beyond cute between his genes and Charity’s.”

I turned to see Forrest and Alex.

“My God are you beautiful,” Linus said to Alex. “I mean I heard that you were, but damn. There’s no doubt you and Charity will have a beautiful kid one day.”

Before anyone could respond, Charity spoke.

“Linus, I don’t think Uncle Jorri’s wedding is an appropriate venue to start volunteering my womb for future use.”

“Oh geez,” Linus said. “Just thinking out loud about what we’ve already talked about, babe. Sorry there, Alex.” He gave Alex a hug, then turned to Forrest and did the same.

“Linus’s mind is always at work,” Forrest said. “Believe it or not, most of his plans make sense.”

The way Linus looked at Alex in awe made me smile. Any man that could appreciate my Alex was good in my book.

“No insult, Alex but damn you really are
beautiful,” Linus said.

  “Thanks,” Alex said, then chuckled.

I put my arm around Linus, squeezed warmly, then spoke.

“Don’t feel bad, Linus. When I first saw Alex, I was awestruck too, and I totally get the whole Alex is like an angel on earth thing. And Forrest is big and buff. We’ll have to see where you fit in.” I chuckled.

  “Oh brother,” Alex said.

“Your attention please, everyone,” Jorri’s new spouse said. “Before we eat, we need to go downtown, so I can give Jorri his wedding gift. The tour train or tram is waiting out front.”

The announcement caused a lot of buzz and excitement among everyone gathered, but they quickly made their way to the front.

“I don’t know if I can handle many more surprises,” Miss Lucy said, when she walked up to me.

“I’m sure it’s a good one,” I said, then introduced Linus.

“Pleased to meet you,” Linus said.

“Sorry about your momma getting all chopped up when she became a zombie,” Miss Lucy said.

“Hey, it’s all good,” Linus said. “I loved her, and I’ll miss her, but damn she’d be pleased as punch that she went out in such a dramatic way. You know how actresses are—all about the drama. The local theater there is already working on a show about her.”

  “Really?” Miss Lucy said.

“Oh yeah,” Linus said. “I’m helping write the script. Momma would’ve loved it.”

“Well, I’m glad to see you’re handling it all well,” Miss Lucy said.

“I shed my tears, but there’s so much going on with Layton, the guys, and me building a new family at the court and the babies coming—one has to go on,” Linus said.

“That’s not a bad philosophy to have,” I said.

“Thanks, I appreciate you saying that, buddy,” Linus said.

“Linus, come keep me company,” Charity said.

“Oops, I’m being neglectful,” Linus said. “Excuse me. It was nice meeting you, Miss Lucy.”

“I forgot that you lived with Charity for a very short time,” I said to Miss Lucy when Linus was gone. “How come you didn’t meet Linus before now?”
